It does get one side cooked a little more, some times but it is not enough to make any difference. I like that it can cook thick bread and bagels. I do not think I would pay full price but on sale it is well worth it.

Nice basic toaster

They shipped a new one to my home within a week. (free shipping to my house) New one works OK. If you set the control for a certain toasted level and put more bread in right away the second toasting will be a little darker.

Putting the setting for toast on 2 almost burns the toast. It's so dark. We had to play with it by adjusting the lever between 1 and 2 to get the nice golden color. Scared to even try putting it on 3 or higher.

Do not buy!
