I have had this unit since Aug 26 2020...

It always had a slight plastic smell while using it and we checked it over but assumed it was just the newness of the unit. Two nights ago the smell was even stronger after using it. The bottom of the unit was completely melted out. I guess we are lucky the unit didn’t cause a fire. I can’t tell by looking at it how it could have done that, but it’s a month past the return window and I’ve lost $80. I plan contact the company in the next day. I had to go ahead and order a replacement though, as we were using a small one quite a bit and needed the larger one for the size of the family. I really liked the unit, it seemed to be performing well except the plastic smell. So be forewarned if you have a unit that has a strong plastic smell when you first start using it, what happened to ours may happen to your unit so be careful.
