I had thought it would need the traditional 5 cup paper filter that I have been using for quite a while. Even though there were several negative comments about this coffee maker----- it does what I need it to do and has not failed me yet.

Good for two!

I like having a filter I can just clean out and then reuse instead of having to buy them. If you’re like most people and have oversized coffee mugs then this will make enough for two and you’ll have some room for your liquid creamer. It would be nice if it maintained the coffee hotter but it seems to only keep it warm. Not that big of a deal and maybe it was just my unit. Overall it’s worth the price.

It works better than other 5-qt coffee makers I've tried in that it heats better and cleans up better. Some improvements I'd suggest: Go fully stainless steel on the inside basket, too. -I'm unsure if the plastic in the basket is BPA free or not. That's my concern,. Also, it's still easy to spill out the carafe if you pour too quickly, as with other 5-qt makers. Is there a way to improve this??
