Food done but seasonings not?

It’s so big and beautiful! I get to eat dinner with hubby not after! But for some reason it seems farther away from heating coils than other one I had the seasoning if too much doesn’t cook on the top. I know crazy but hoping this gets better food is done but seasoning stays on top. The jury might be out or I have a faulty one
