Buying cards online is better and more secure, - unlike store bought gift cards, the card number and pin on "THIS" card was resealable so these I prefer, (don't know about others). To check the balance I used the APP, I went to the Help Center option, and in that option I went to Payment and Pricing, and from there I selected Check Gift Card Balance very simple. Would recommend as a Gift or for a Future Investment.
