The wire is a larger gauge to make up for the length, data transfer speed.... Since it was longer I routed it to another spot and freed up some desk space...

I expect a 10 feet USB 3.0 cable be able to transmit 4K video signal to my computer, but it does not meet my expectation.

So there is some kind of short. I tried with multiple charges with same result. I returned the cable and had another one sent as a replacement and does the same exact thing. But something else. Online/ phone support send you to the store. The store will return cable and have another sent but the new cable doesn't work correctly either. I guess my next run up to bestbuy store I will return this. Sad though I will be out my rewards promo cert though.
