It works really well and while you do have to plug it into a power source as well, I couldn't be happier with it. It's quick to set up, works well, and is easy to use.

I had only one USB working, so this devise, powered by its own cord, came in handy. I'm happy with the purchase.

So far, it's running without issue for about 2 months. I expect it will keep working for years. No drop-outs. Reliable. For the money, this is just as good as any other major brand. Just get it. Having an older computer, 3.0 did not work. It shut down computer operations. Finally understanding the difference, ordering 2.0 solved the problem, enabling connection to my laptop of mouse, scanner, and black-and-white printer.
