This item over heats my phone and barely charges it.

Do not buy! It will not continue to charge and get very hot

Overall the Best Buy essentials magnetic wireless portable charger is not a bad product for anyone who is looking for a MagSafe/Qi charger for their compatible phone. It does what it is meant to do which is charge your compatible devices and it even features a kickstand which I have not seen on other portable chargers, so that is a nice addition, and I would say overall you can't beat the value of this device. Other than that though there really isn't anything special about this charge, and I would say that there are better and faster alternatives for anyone who needs to get their devices charged on the go. This device is MagSafe compatible, but is not MagSafe certified which is a big distinction in regards to how quickly it will charge your compatible iPhones. Other reviews have also pointed out the lack of charge indication on this device and I will reiterate it as well, there is only a single light that will show orange when the battery is low or green when it is not, but it does not show the specific charge level and the fact that the only indication that it is done charging is a solid green light instead of a slowly blinking green light is not a great way to handle showing the charge status and can be confusing. I have used other portable chargers and they featured several lights indicating the charge level and would fill or deplete as used or charged, and would also stop charging once fully charged rather than continually pumping electricity into them. Overall this isn't a bad product and if all you need is a way to charge your devices then I would say that it is a great value and it does what it is meant to, but there are also better alternatives that you could look into if you need better features.

The Best Buy essentials 5000mah 7.5w MagSafe Wireless Portable Charger for iPhone 14,13, and 12 series devices does what it says it does. It attaches to my phone (through my MagSafe-compatible case) and charges it up well. The unit itself charges pretty quickly (via a built in USB-C port) and is ready to toss in a bag or pocket. It is very nice not to have to think about taking along a cable if I were to need to top up my charge. $35 for 5000mah, however, isn't the best bang for the buck. A quick internet search will show that you can find several other MagSafe options out there with double the capacity for around the same price. A few even support faster charging upwards of 22.5W. The magnet is a bit weaker than I thought it would be as well. The battery doesn't fall off or anything, but it kinda feels like it could and I'm certainly not making any sudden movements with it attached. That said, if I'm using this I'm probably doing so as an alternative to plugging into the wall at night when I'm sleeping away from home, so if you'd be doing the same then it shouldn't be a problem. I give 3 stars because the product does what it says it does and does it well, but there are better options out there and they are easy to find so if bang for your buck is most important skip this one.

Did not work with iPhone 14 Pro. Would not hold a charge.

Heats up very fast and slow charge was not worth the purchase.

Just received my Best Buy Essentials 5000mAh Magnetic Wireless Portable MagSafe Charger a few days ago and have been putting it through its paces. This devices is specifically made for the iPhone 14, iPhone 13, and iPhone 12 series. Unboxing this is pretty much straightforward and included inside is: * Magnetic MagSafe Wireless Portable Charger * USB-C to USB-C Charger * User Documentation Before using, it is best to fully charge the charger up to full capacity. The charger is easy to use. Simply just let the magnetic side of the charger (with the circle ring) snap onto the back of your phone or your phone case (preferably one that's also MagSafe compatible) and it should start charging your phone automatically. If not, there is a small power button on the bottom right side of the charger. You can also use that Power Button to turn it off to reserve some of that battery charge for later. On the back of the charger is a a pull out stand which is great for when you want to use the charger to hold your phone, either on phone calls or FaceTime calls. I found this to be very helpful, though at times it was a little flimsy and my iPhone 14 Pro Max would topple over. Overall it's a decent charger at best and I will carry this with me, especially if I'm going to be away from my wall charger for an extended period of time. The battery life is not super long, and the time it takes to charge your phone is slow, but it can get you through those times where you may need an added boost.

Won't stay on keeps shutting off wish i could return

I’ve never been a fan of battery packs for phones. I understand the want for more battery power, but cords dangling from my phone connected to battery packs has never been something I’ve been interested in. If my headphones don’t have cords, why would I want something else connected to my phone via cord while I’m on the go? MagSafe battery pack makes perfect sense for someone like me, and this one in particular works great. Connecting it to my phone adds a little weight, but it hooks to the back of my phone magnetically and doesn’t get in the way of things. I use my phone with it connected as I’d it’s not there. It has negative impact on anything I’m doing while using my phone. It charges faster via wired connection. But again. That’s not my preferred method of charging. The only real difference it makes is a positive one…5$4 kickstand allows me to sit it up while it’s connected. The gripes I have with the charger overall are small and insignificant. I wish it had more power or charged faster…but I appreciate it doesn’t feel like a heater connected to my phone while it charges, so I guess I’ll take that. My biggest gripe is that the battery pack doesn’t take the same charger as my phone, it uses the charger my iPad uses. If it used the charger my phone uses, when I disconnect my phone from its charger in the house I could connect the battery pack. All in all, this magnetic portable wireless charger is a great product I’d recommend to anyone looking for extra juice. While phone batteries carry more power then they ever have, the convenience of this product makes it worth keeping around whether you truly feel you’ll need it or not.

Best Buy essential 5,000 ah magnesium wireless portable charger, it honestly been a love hate relationship. I love the size fits perfectly in my backpack, purse & pocket when needed small doesn’t take up much space cause it’s thin, also not heavy. The stand is strong it’s not cheaply made. The magnet is strong and helps the case line up perfectly not like the previous one I had it it wasn’t perfectly lined up it would not charge or just completely kill my battery, nice that you can charge other devices with usb cable that doesn’t have magnetic charging. You do have to make sure it’s fully charged it seems to die fairly quickly or sometimes only charged my phone up to 10% then stopped charging my phone even when fully charged I thought at first maybe cause it wasn’t fully charged so I left it charging all day it helped but has never charged my phone 100% but enough to get me through till I got home or I as able to charge in the car. I feel it’s good for an emergency to get you some percent charged on my phone so it didn’t completely die. And I did notice also when not being used it still losses power which I guess any charger does? Would recommend for short charge but not if you need iyour battery home fully charged, nice for short term travel, I wish it charged better for the price.

Great, especially if you own a magsafe case. The magnet is very strong, paired with a nice slim design. It easily attaches to the back of magsafe phone case. Why am I giving it 4 stars. One big reason for me is that this does not have any kind of battery indication on it. I would love to see it have at least 4 or 5 lights or a digital display to let you know what the battery life is on it. It would also have been nice to see it come with a carry case. I also felt that it only charges my phone completely one time and maybe halfway before needing to charge it. Again though, this is hard to really say, and would have been great to have some kind of battery indicator. That said, again with it being low profile, it did not feel awkward charging my phone and still use my phone at the same time. If you do not have a magsafe case, you can still use a cord. Just as long as the end going into this device is a USB-c. Phone does not have to be iPhone either. Again, very useful and nice if you do own a magsafe phone case. And I do recommend if you do have a magsafe case. If you do not own a magsafe phone case, I would not recommend getting this then unless you think you might get a magsafe case.

It is to be noted, the portable charger will charge sequentially starting with the wireless/magsafe charging before moving to the type-c power so you can only charge one device at a time…so lets cut into Best Buys Portable charger! This battery bank comes with magsafe charging for iPhones and an attachment for Android phones to wirelessly charge as well, it has a 5000 mAh battery pack which is enough to charge your phone about a time to a time and a half depending on your device. You are not stuck with wireless charging and can use the USB-C port as a power out to charge any device that will take that port. It charges at 15w out of the type-c port and 7.5 out of wireless/magsafe as a limitation of magsafe. I really appreciate that BestBuy made this a type C port on the product, and also included a cable for it as well which I feel is a good value at this price point. Which brings us to the build quality which I have seen some people mention. This is the value product, and it is 25-30% cheaper than other products like it. I think it could be build somewhat better, but largely, as long as you don’t go throwing it around constantly it should stick together. I dropped it from waist level a few times just to see what would happen and it held up just fine. The kickstand feels nice and firm and held my iPhone 14 just fine while charging on its side. If you are in the market for a portable charger that is magsafe and want the added usability of a sturdy kickstand and the ability to charge out of the type-c port than look no further because BestBuy has just provided a legit budget friendly option that is seemingly just as good as the other products in function and performance. As always, BestBuy has excellent customer service and a great return policy, so you never have to worry about buying a product that you don’t like.

So far I have been very happy using this MagSafe portable charger with my iPhone 13 Pro Max. Design wise there isn't much to comment on. It's smaller than the phone and what you see in the photos show it all. USB-C input for charging and the power button on the side. That's it. The magnet sticks well too. my phone. I've tried it without a case, with an Apple brand MagSafe case and a non-MagSafe case. It sticks well all three ways. However, with the non-MagSafe case it's a bit loose and the charging is a bit slower. So using it with an actual MagSafe case or no case at all is the way to go. As far as power goes, 5,000mAh isn't the largest capacity charger out there. But, more capacity means a bigger charger (and more expensive). This works great for topping off the phone during the day if I start to run low. And if I run the phone completely down, it has enough capacity to fully charge the phone. I've already had a situation where I left the house having forgot to charge the phone. I simply stuck this to my phone and I was good to go. All in all, very handy for any iPhone with MagSafe charging.

Very basic battery pack, but love the magsafe connection on the back. Overall, its very simple to use, but there are some flaws. There is an on off button on the side (more like a push to wake if you need to), a kickstand and an in/out USB C plug. This battery is primarily for users with a magsafe compatible phone, it will work with other devices, but its designed for use with the magnet. You are able to plug in one cabled device via the USB C, or charge other QI enabled wireless charging devices. There is also a little kickstand, but more on that. pros: easy to use. just slap on the back of your phone and it starts charging (usually, sometimes you have to press the button on the side, but that's not very often). You can also just plug into the USB port and charge away. If you have two devices connected (one magnet one cable), but they will not charge simultaneously. The wired device will charge to full, then the wireless device will start to charge. The battery life is good, its more than 3 times the battery life of the OEM magsafe charger, BUT it does weigh quite a bit more. Cons: there are a handful of annoying quirks with this battery. There is no battery gauge. On the side of the device there is a simple green/red LED. While charging, the light will pulse then turn solid green when charged. The light will also turn red when the battery is low. That is it. No level while charging, you have no idea how charged it is until full. Same goes for the reverse, you have on idea what is left with the battery until its dead. There is a kickstand, which is nice, but the orientation makes it so the volume rockers on the phone are on the bottom. Unless you have headphones that can adjust the volume, it makes it a little more difficult to adjust volume. overall: I wish there was a battery gauge of some sort on it. It makes it difficult to use because of this. Other than that, I can get over the other quirks of it, but the lack of a gauge is quite annoying. Pros:

This is a portable battery pack primarily designed for Apple devices, although you can use other USB C devices to charge as well. The charger has a kickstand so you can use your device for media while charging. The battery capacity is 5000 mAH, which might give you one additional full charge to your device. There is only one USB C port on the charger. You can use this to charge the battery itself or any other compatible devices. I had no issues using this charger with my phone case on, it provided a full charge and some. It was slightly warm, but nothing uncomfortable when the device is charging. The charging and remaining battery status is shown using the LED indicator located to the side of the battery. I wish there were more LED light indicators to show the battery percentage instead of a green or red status lights which don't tell you how much of the charge is left. Also, the kickstand can only be used in portrait mode. I do like that you can charge the battery and your device wirelessly at the same time as a passthrough option. Overall, this is a great MagSafe charger accessory that is better in terms of price and battery capacity compared to the Apple one and an easy choice as a travel accessory.

Great product to use when traveling helps alot when cant plug in phone

Love the charging, no need for wired and connected magnetic to my phone and charged the phone pretty fast
