Works great for 1080p. Noticed immediate improvement going from VGA. Probably won't work with higher resolutions because it's only single channel DVI.

This cable did the job, is well constructed and did not empty my wallet! My customer is now up and running his "hybrid" old/new system!

Options are to replace the monitor, replace the video card or find an cable that will work. Went with the lease expensive solution. Works like a champ!

The monitor had DVI and VGA inputs, but the computer only has HDMI and DP outputs. Except in certain extreme circumstances, the "high-end" expensive cables are a complete waste of money, so I checked Amazon and Best Buy for a basic cable and some other items, and Best Buy had a better offer overall. When I saw the open-box, scratch and dent cable, I jumped on it. What's the worst that could happen? As long as all the pins are there, it would probably work. The cable arrived a day before scheduled, came in the already opened box, and was not quite what I expected. The box specifically marked this as scratched or blemished, but I wasn't able to find any damage whatsoever to the cable. All the pins were straight. There were no scratches or dents in the shielding. The plastic coating was pristine. I plugged it in, set the monitor's input to DVI, and it's been working perfectly ever since. This is on a work computer that I use for at least 8 hours a day during the week. I will definitely check with Best Buy online for future electronic needs.
