If you have half a dozen USB style chargers and buy a new pair of ear buds that require the new USB-C charger no need to buy a new charger. Just this adapter does the trick. NOTE: always check the output power of the older charger to make sure you dont over heat the ear buds while charging

They might melt if you use it to charge, but it works great to transmit data. I only have type A usb ports on my pc, and I have a type c-3.5mm single I use for my microphone, and it gets the job done.

They charge well through and I haven't identified any issues with throttling.
