It broke the second day I used it. What do you suggest to do about it.

Dont hold my phone always drop and loosing and the grab its awful

Very weak magnet, and doesnt even come with a steel plate

I've only used this a few times and so far it's held up my iPhone 13 just fine. The magnetic is really strong and sturdy and secures my phone to it. I've never been a huge fan of vent mounts because they never seem to stay put especially as I'm driving. I live in Pennsylvania where the roads are bumpy and potholes are plenty. But overall the mount fits pretty securely into my vent. I did notice as I was driving it did slide a little bit. It seems like the weight of my phone might drag it down and knock it loose. I'm going to play around with trying to make it fit more snug so I won't have that problem hopefully in the future. I'd say this is just an okay mount. For the price you can't beat it. I feel like the design could have been better to be more equipped to support the weight of phones and for in the vent. It seems like it could easily break but I'm crossing my fingers that it holds up at least for a year. I've got some bigger road trips planned in the next couple months so I guess that'll be the true test!

This Best Buy Essentials magnetic car vent mount is a very nice addition to my Jeep Cherokee. It has a very nice range of adjustability, and allows me to position my phone to the angle that works best for me and my vehicle. It supports both landscape and portrait orientations, so you can quickly adjust it based on your activity. This is especially useful for navigation applications. Installation was easy, which was surprising since I’ve had challenges with using other vent-mounted phone holders. I’ve had a few other vent-mounted holders that either wouldn’t reach back far enough to clip on to the rear of the vent, or they went back too far and were then way too loose in my opinion. This one just clipped right in with no troubles whatsoever. So far, it’s held my phone quite securely, and I’ve not had any instances of it falling off. Yet, at the same time, my phone easily detaches when I’m done driving. So far, I haven’t really found anything that I don’t like about it & it’s at a great price!

I will caveat this with your experience may vary, as every car vent is different. The Best Buy essentials Car Vent mount attaches to the vent with a friction fit grip. It requires a bit of effort to slide onto your car vent. The angle is then adjusted with a lock nut and ball joint, so you can position the phone at the best angle. It was easy to get the angle perfect and despite my anxiety, there was no loss of grip or angle, despite the bumps in the road (pun intended!). When it comes to the magsafe connection, the vent mount locks on tight - both with and without a case on my phone. It attaches with a vice like magnetic grip to my iPhone 14 - probably the strongest I have seen. This is where I ran into an issue, as if I wasn't careful and thoughtful about how I removed my phone, the mount would come with it. This didn't damage my car vent, but it means I would then need to reinstall it after each use. I'm not sure if this is user error (me) or that Ford's have a vent design issue - either way, it was my experience. Do I still use it? Yes, because I constantly forget my iPhone in the car and having it on a vent mount means I always now leave the car with my phone (no more getting on the train to work and realizing too late my phone is in the car in the parking lot). I do hope that on future versions Best Buy use a screw/vice like attachment for the vent mount, which is something I have seen from competing brands... but in that case I left it in the rental car, so maybe the fact The Best Buy Essentials Car Mount comes off easier is better!

The Essentials iPhone Vent Mount is quick and easy to install. It stays securely in place on my Chevy Traverse with Horizontal vent vanes. With 7.5 Watts of charging power, My phones battery charge level continues to increase while using Waze, Spotify, the occasional phone call, and background apps like email, weather, etc. all stay current. The power plug also provides a USB-A plug so you can charge or power another device. The mount has a premium feel that defies the price thanks to the use of aluminum and high grade plastics. It feels and looks superior to every other mount I’ve used in the past. While holding the mount with my phone attached, the magnet held through the Genuine Apple Leather Case, which due to the thickness of the leather, is likely the worst case scenario for a Mag lock. I put the mount with my phone attached through much simulated shaking on my living room couch. Only a very dramatic and sharp down/up motion would cause my heavy phone to disengage. This was a very extreme motion probably one that most are unlikely to come across in normal driving. To test, I went on a punishing drive to test it in the real world on some pf Pennsylvania’s worst roads to see if it could earn my trust. We have no shortage of these in Pennsylvania. I also included one of the roughest, bumpiest railroad track crossing I have ever came across in my driving loop, hitting it a few times at different speeds to really test the mount. Though my phone bounced about horrible, the vent mount and magnet proved strong enough to hold my iPhone 14 Pro Max through its Apple Leather Case in all tests. The mount moved a bit on the vent, but stayed on and the mag mount held the phone. I did notice that my phone bounces more than it did with my previous phone cradle, even on roads I am familiar with. Possibly the extra weight, or the phone center being lower on the Essentials mount than on my old clamp type mount. Unfortunately the mount did not work well on a Chevy Equinox with vertical vents. All seemed OK for a few miles, but on left turn the vent pivoted and the mount with phone rapidly slid down a bit and off the vent vane, bouncing off the console and my leg before landing of the floor. Fortunately the phone did not end up under the pedals and I was able to pull over safely to retrieve the phone and mount. I can see where an incident like this, or even just the surprise of the phone falling could startle or distract a driver enough to cause an accident. I would not recommend using this type of mount with a vertical vent vane. Now with this concern over the mount possibly slipping on my mind, and after seeing some reviews of the plastic mounting arm itself breaking, I am concerned. Especially knowing my iPhone Pro Max 14 is on the heavier end of phones. I moved the mount over to the passenger side vent of my Traverse on my next drive, however I found this was not a very convenient reach and difficult to read some screen text. I also now have this dread that my phone could fall and break, or worse. Sadly I went back to my old non-magnetic mount which is lighter and holds my phone a bit higher, perhaps why it bounces much less. My old mount also has a hook that goes over and around the back of the vent vane to lock it on. This mechanical hook seems more secure than the friction pinch used on the Essentials mount. It hasn’t failed me yet. I liked that the Essentials mount relieves the tedium of having to position my phone in its old holder, squeeze the clamps in place to secure it, and then plug it in with a lightening cable. So much easier to just place it and have it ‘stick’ with a magnet and charge. Especially when running errands where I am in and out of the car. And that looks much nicer than the plasticky cheap phone clamp. However from my experience and other reviews I’ve seen where the mount arm/stud broke, I am concerned that the mount will fail in some fashion dropping my expensive phone, possibly causing someone I care for driving my car to have an accident. For these reasons, I’ve stopped using it and in general cannot recommend this phone mount. If your cars configuration does not pose such a large drop and the potential problems that I see in my car, it might be worth a try as the price is a real bargain if it meets your needs. I’m hoping to find another iPhone Mag Mount that inspires more confidence than this one. Hopefully Best Buy will improve the mounting so its less prone to breaking and the attachment so it more securely holds the vent. Even if the price went up $5-10 for this, it would still be a bargain compared to others out there and be of interest to me.

Overall, this is a useful product if you have a standard iPhone, but the larger sizes are too big and heavy to work properly with the Magsafe connection, and the vent mount works best with large vent slots for a stable connection. I've tried using this mount for the last two weeks in my vehicle with my iPhone 12 Pro Max and it simply is not strong enough to hold any iPhone "Max" size phones. They're just too big/heavy to stay attached with the standard iPhone Mag safe connection. Also, the vent clip is a single "slot" teeth style of mount, instead of a cross mount teeth, and they're thick so your vent slots must be wide to allow you to push the mount far enough so that it's stable enough to be safe. Finally, the power cord is permanently attached to the mount, although it's a long cord. The power plug is a standard 12V power plug, and it's great that it has an additional USB outlet. The charging speed seemed fine, it didn't charge any faster or slower than my "normal" wireless charging stand. Finally, it can hold the phone in landscape orientation, but I again, having a "Max" phone makes it very weak and unstable. YMMV with the normal size phones.

It broke 2 days later. Absolutely would not recommend. The mag worked amazing my phone did not budge at all but the part with the ball/socket broke and not even glueing it back on would save it.

Scrap the vent mount plastic thing and use the front part in a more robust housing like a cupholder.

I loved this product, I am a new driver and drive an old Toyota Camry that doesn’t have a screen for gps and this is a lifesaver. I have a terrible sense of direction and this is helps me to find where I’m going and be able to keep my eyes on the road.

it is simple and easy to use and fits my need perfectly. I didn't want anything permanent that would damage my cars interior. It is easily put in place when I need and removed when I don't.

First upgrade in AGES iPhone 7 to 14 needed a whole new rig for the iPhone car set up and Best Buy came through it was a shocker not seeing the CDs in store but times have changed

For $15 it over delivers, of course if you want something a bit stronger than youre gonna pay for it but i cant complain at all to be honest

Does everything I expected it too! Picked it up before a 7 hour road trip, and it held my phone in place perfectly. It is all plastic, but feels sturdy enough.
