The Best Buy essentials - USB-C to Ethernet Adapter is a very inexpensive yet valuable and handy gadget for enabling wired ethernet usage on devices without built-in ethernet ports. Even though wireless internet technology has made great advancements, nothing beats a wired internet connection which is why this simple little adapter can be so useful. I have a gaming laptop that is designed to be thin and lightweight but due to this design, it does not have a built-in ethernet port. My home has wired ethernet so when I am at home with this laptop and want to use it with a more reliable internet connection, I can now use a wired connection instead of a Wi-Fi connection. The adapter is very easy to use because it truly is plug-and-play. No need to install anything, just plug it in, plug your ethernet cable in, and you’re set! The speeds were as advertised and it is very compact which makes it easy to travel with. Overall, I really like the Best Buy essentials - USB-C to Ethernet Adapter and I highly recommend it!

Out of the box it did not work at all. Nothing. Return was easy.

It doesn’t work to my laptop. I tried to plug, however no internet connection even though there is internet.

There is a loud humming noise when using this adaptor that was recommended by GSquad.

Best Buy sold me this cable for a specific purpose and it wasnt designed for that situation.

The Best Buy Essentials USB-C to Ethernet adapter is definitely a handy thing to carry around with your laptop. You know when your WiFi just won’t get it done for any of 100 reasons - it is too slow, spotty, etc., or you’re in the middle of a project or your child is in the middle of homework and the WiFi goes out? That is a problem. To avoid a huge hassle, you need to by-pass WiFi and get a direct internet connection. So many laptops nowadays don’t come with an Ethernet port. With this adapter, you plug an Ethernet cable into your router or, if you don’t have a router, plug your Ethernet cable into your modem, the other end of that cable goes into this adapter. Then simply plug the other end of the adapter into your laptop’s USB-C port and BOOM, you have internet! Best Buy claims the data transfer speed with this adapter is up to 1Gbps however I have no way of measuring the speed. It seems to fly for me. This is compatible with Windows, Mac, Chrome, Android and iOS. The cord on this adapter is 4.5” long. This Best Buy Essentials USB-C to Ethernet adapter is solid and well built and definitely provides a stable internet connection. I would certainly recommend this adapter.

The Best Buy essentials USB-C to ethernet adapter is just what you need for newer computers if you are somewhere without Wi-Fi, need a more secure direct connection, or are gaming and need to ensure faster speeds with as little lag as possible. The adapter allows speeds up to 1 Gbps, but my home internet is not that fast so I was not able to test that speed. It was Plug and Play though, as with every device I tried, all I had to do is plug it in, and it just worked. The USB-C connection was sturdy, and won't fall out if you are using this on a tablet or laptop, which is also nice. I do love the idea that this is actually a Best Buy product, that is backed by Best Buy. The only thing I wish was included, but is not, is a low profile ethernet cable. When I say low profile, I just mean the easiest to travel with cable. This adapter is most likely to be used by people traveling, and having an ethernet cable with it would make it a much better package deal. That said, the adapter has a great price, and works flawlessly.

The Best Buy essentials USB-C to Ethernet adapter is a convenient little dongle to have when WiFi isn’t good. When I visit my brother they don’t have the best WiFi coverage throughout their house but have Ethernet ports in every room so this will make life a little easier. Like a lot of things everything is getting thinner and thinner so most laptops don’t have Ethernet ports anymore, which 99% of the time isn’t a problem. But, for that 1% of time it can be a hassle when you need good internet speed. With speeds up 1 Gbps this will allow you to take advantage of the latest and greatest home internet speeds. Testing on my iPad I was able to get 440Mbps from my middle floor router in my mesh system. This isn’t the main nodule in my mess system so I’m happy with the speed. If you don’t have good WiFi coverage and you can’t use your phone as a hotspot, this little Ethernet dongle is an inexpensive way to solve your problem. It will deliver the speed and reliability of a wired connection.

100/1000 ethernet adapter. Will work great for most newer computers that have a USB C port and no onboard ethernet as most laptops do these days. For most Windows 10/11 PC’s, driver shoupd be detected automatically but may need to get the proper driver for this chipset off the internet. Comparability for Mac may depends on hardware and Mac OS version.

Needed this to provide required connectivity for work-from-home customer service jobs. I bought a new laptop and it didn't have an ethernet port so this was especially useful and serves the purpose very reliably.

Bought this item online and they had it ready and in my car in a hour. I needed to connect my ethernet directly to my laptop to upload some homework assignments and it did just that very easy to use and would recommend it.

It’s really useful specially if you have antique cords and cables, you need this.

bought this for my switch, wrong size. USB-c, the C gotta go, need regular USB. too lazy to return it il just keep it.

I feel this item is a quality tool that provides good service. It didn't work with my Chromebook but I still feel it is worth it's pricing.
