Not just Best Buy but other stores as well. The money you spend is a wise choice in case the product breaks down. This is a money maker just like a car manufacturer. They run those cars all day and night so they know how long the engine and other components should last. The warranty is just another money maker for the company. What I would do is offer the warranty after the 1 year expires. Doesn't that make good business sense.
