Good if you’re a big tech junkie

Initially doubtful, then wonderfully surprised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly thought I was being upsold when I got my laptop at MSRP, but considering if was like $50 I thought why not, I just got my tax refund if it helps this guys numbers then it's all good. However, the following week I was able to get a retroactive price match on my item since I was in the 'return policy' date range, which saved be $426!!! Absolutely crazy, so since then I've been watching the membership exclusive deals and to see if I can get a good bargain. Would reccomend to my friends who also frequent best buy as one of their 'happy places'

On-going -very difficult experience to get through
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unfortunately for me, a poorly trained BestBuy store sales representative convinced me to upgrade my standard membership to a plus membership. The experience could not have been more painful, frustrating and untimely a poor use of time and effort to try to resolve as the in store sales representative not only incorrectly duplicated my account but also loaded secondary incorrect contact data into the secondary duplicate account... which has led to a loss of access to my account, 3 failed mergers of my accounts, and 6-7 personal hours on hold with BB corporate and 11 separate online sessions with bots and staff to mostly NOT fix my account. Progress has been made but only due to be being proactive and persistent to fill the Best Buy generated errors and duplicates. There is also horrible coordination with Best Buy Credit with CitiBank.. with Best Buy telling me to fix their issues... as all of link connections, contact info, rewards points and rewards history all were wiped and needed to be recreated.. inclusive of BB needed to manually re-generate all my Rewards points and resolve my rewards BANKed points issues..... which was still OPEN. This should be a case study on what NOT to do when upgrading a 15+ BestBuy client to Plus..... and doing 100% wrong and then not only knowing how to fix it.. but, walking away from the responsibility of the errors and telling the customer to call corporate to figure it our myself. Truly disappointing. This is s true story... and I have not exaggerated any of the facts. This is an on-going mess. Upgrade at your own risk./

So far I have had the option of returning an item beyond the 2 week deadline of a purchase. I did use this option recently. I was able to determine that the item was not suited for my needs. This was a plus but not sure if it was worth the membership. I did have a small discount on another purchase.

Best TV ever AND I made it even better!!

If you have a problem with glare on your current TV, then I would highly recommend you throw that TV out the window and buy this one. But wait, there’s more! You come of this with an Apple TV and a conversation with ChatGPT on how best to configure the settings for deep rich, immersive experience plus bright vivid colors and what you will get will blow your mind away. It truly is insane detail that I truly can’t describe.

My Best Buy Plus

The free 2-day shipping has definitely been the biggest perk for me—it’s fast and reliable, which makes online shopping much more convenient. I also like earning rewards on purchases, which adds up quicker than I expected. Since I’m still pretty new to the membership, I haven’t used every benefit yet, but for the price, it’s been worth it so far. I’d recommend it to anyone who shops at Best Buy regularly—it pays off quickly if you’re making tech or appliance purchases.

Worth the money but could be a bit more useful

Two things bother me, the way rewards to certs are handled is clunky and has kept me from using them easily. There should be more specials for rewards members and these should be more clearly communicated.

To add membership to injury

I bought a used controller from the best buy in Hillsboro, OR a few months ago and was absolutely shocked at the quality of the item(s). I know that buying Open Box items comes with significant risks but I did NOT know that among them were risks to my health. To begin with, I would like to reiterate my awareness of the possibility that Open Box As-Is items may be missing some things. But the absence of the vast majority of the parts that come with this item was a real surprise and letdown. The item was an Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, which comes with 2 sets of (2) paddle-style attachments for use on the rear of the controller. The unit i recieved had none whatsoever. This was disheartening to say the least but I honestly don't know if I could bring myself to pick this unit up with my bare hands. Why? Because this was the single dirtiest piece of video gaming equipment I have seen in my 35 years on earth. There was a layer ... of what I can only hope is food grease.... on every surface of the unit. Smears, smudges, and flakes of an unknown white substance covered the whole surface, having become stuck in the grease that covered it. But then i put on my glasses. and upon closer inspection because even more disgusted with my Best Buy purchase. When I looked at the grooves in the face of the controller, i saw that they were caked with an unknown, whitish/yellowish residue (which i can only assume is skin. truly revolting) It was absolutely obvious to me that this unit had not been cleaned, restored, or even looked at by anyone whatsoever. It seems to me that anyone with reasonable judgement would never accept a return of this quality (I paid around $100 for the unit by the way, of my hard-earned cash which I have precious little of, being a 35-year-old laborer with no higher education) and dare charge the price I paid for it - it would be cruel and predatory. I was so disgusted with this thing that it has been in my closet since. I no longer trust Best Buy. I had bought a membership to My Best Buy Plus the very day all of this happened. But I feel that I was swindled that day - at the very least. The unit I was given was among the most disappointing purchases I have made in my life. I felt misled, cheated, and lied to. So, unfortunately, I have not returned to Best Buy since. I would have liked to make good use of the My Best Buy Plus membership I purchased that day and was excited to enroll and make frequent use of it. But again, since that day I have not returned. Video games are an escape from the injustices of life in this day and age for me usually, but buying this unsanitary and feature-bare unit brought distrust and stress into the equation for something that I usually love. To go on, I like to avoid confrontation, if possible. I learn my lessons when necessary and am not as articulate as I am in this medium when expressing frustrating problems face to face. And, on top of this, I was a bit dejected about the whole subject - it was a personal embarrassment to have been "screwed" so to speak. And I assumed that the person who had approved the sale of the bad unit worked there and might not be much help... (My wife stated about the controller: "I'm not touching that." when I showered it to her, wondering if I was overreacting. The Xbox is hers anyway and this would have been her controller.) So as far as I am concerned at this time, I was reminded of one of life's hard lessons that day - that the things (in this case Best Buy) we trust and love the most can turn their backs on you in an instant. I cannot express how disappointed I was with the item I received. Best Buy was on a short list of stores that I trusted - I was always happy to go there because I knew I would receive top quality merchandise (I've bought open-box on other occasions as well). But my experience that day voided the good regard I had for Best Buy stores. It's really unfortunate and a bit disheartening. I pray that no one else has gotten a unit like I received.
