Criminal business practices

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was lied to by a sales associate in the Green Bay store when I purchased an open box LG OLED TV. He stated that it was fully covered under my Total Membership. This is false. The TV had burn in when I got it home. They refused to honor the warranty, stating that LG had to fix it within the first year. LG stated they do not honor the warranty for open box items and that Best Buy is aware of this. The manager refused to speak to me when I went back to the store (I live 4 hours away). They even removed the TV from my purchase history in order to claim I had no TV. In my opinion, this is criminal behavior and Best Buy should be shut down. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! I am canceling my membership and boycotting Best Buy, as well as all my family and friends.

Best Buy Geek Squad it the worst customer service!

I have been shopping a this store for 20 years. I purchased an Apple Mac book and I wanted the apple care. But instead I was forced to purchase the Geek Squad membership for $179 on 9/5/23. By 1/9/24, I went into the store and cancelled my geek squad and they offered me a $50 gift card... Then I was told that I had my apple care and I could go to the Apple store. I did and I had my apple care. By 10/14/ 24 I started receiving collection calls from Citi bank Best buy credit card asking for my geek squad new renewal which I had cancelled. After several months of Best Buy Geek squad leading me to believe I was going to get my Apple care membership, they lied to me! I cancelled today and I was promised a full refund. But it has been pro-rated and I'm not paying it! I need my full refund. The worst membership geek squad ever!! Oh and everyone was fired and the store has all new employees and managers, and they know nothing and refused to help me! They promised me I would get my Apple care separated and then never even had the decency to call me back, even after I had a confirmation number to get a full refund minus my apple care. I spoke to a geek squad manager named David,on December 13. He told me he was going to separate my Apple Care and give it to me and gave me a confirmation number of 348526680. No on even got back with me ever! Don't buy from Best Buy in Canton Georgia, in the Canton marketplace. They are lazy liars! They just want to collect of the geek squad membership fee and deliver no customer service. So awful!! KTH.

Best Buy total Membership

Whenever you would like to switch credit card, and if you overlook the reminder, you can’t do it once the transactions completed. I wish they allow me to reverse the credit card process and allow me to switch to a different credit card.

Not Sure if It's Worth It

While the peace of mind for the warranties is good, the first time I had to take an item in for service it was a HUGE hassle. Geek Squad is not helpful at all, therefore I don't think it makes this membership worth it.

Way too expensive

It’s really a shame that they don’t make it more Affordable for people. They should make an option to warranty produce for a lower price tag $194 a year is not worth it for two PlayStation Controllers and a Headset. They should go back to the geek squad protection plans they are well worth it and affordable

You will wait months for a replacement

They required a technician try 3 times to repair. Each visit was scheduled 2 to 3 weeks apart. In the end, i did get my refund, but it took hours of waiting around for techs and had to email bestbuy Corporate back and forth to even get a tech scheduled to come out. Once the refund was approved I then had to call the bestbuy GSP, geek squad protection team, for my refund. Took over a week for them to process the refund and multiple phone calls. Keep this in mind, if you have a major appliance fail you will be waiting months for a replacement.

BUYER BEWARE!

It doesn't even show up on the account - just on your credit card. I had originally purchased this on my Citibank Credit card from Best Buy and did not realized it would auto renew without any form of notice. I am highly displeased with the service of both companies. I did not discover the charge until Citibank sent out a late fee statement. FRAUD! They pro-rated the amount and still left me for a balance of $39.06. Best Buy and Citibank have now alienated a loyal customer for less than $40. I will not be purchasing from this store again nor will any of my friends and co workers.

geek squad not covering

Overpriced

Best Buy has changed so much since its inception now any customer service issues they have you call a foreign country to get a call center that will deal with product issues.
