    The plan might pay for itself, but connecting to tech-support at certain times during the week is very very lengthy. Some of the tech-support agents don’t understand advanced questions. The in-store service on the computer for having it wiped and restored is worth it.

    So I purchased this service with the computer so that the Geek Squad could set up the computer. I couldn't leave the computer that day and had to make an appointment to bring it back several days later. Decided after I left that I didn't want to go through the hassle of driving all the way back to the store (45 mins) and set up the computer myself. I have tried to get a refund since then and they will not return my money. I have called multiple times and even went back to the store. They canceled the Mircosoft 365 I purchased, which I didn't want to cancel. I get a different story each time I call. I will never buy anything from here again. It has been a nightmare.

    Associate did not tell me Total Tech Support would auto renew after one year. $200 is a lot of money to not disclose this important detail. I only found out by reading the lengthy receipt....which brings me to my next complaint...Also bought Microsoft Office on this $309 laptop service purchase and assumed Microsoft Office would be installed without initiating additional steps but when attempted to use it, found out we have to activate it which should have been disclosed by Best Buy at drop off or pick up of laptop. Best Buy was closed when discovering this so had to hunt down receipt and there was no activation code on it. Ended up registering new account.

    I cancelled the plan the day I picked up our computer. It is NOT any better. I paid for the plan in cash and the associate told me I HAD to give them a card number for the file and it would NOT be charged unless I renewed the plan. As I said, I called to cancel the plan and they were rude and try to tell me I had to take a store gift card. Untrue. I was finally told I would be mailed a check. Today (5 days later) my card was charged by Best Buy Renewal $269.98. I am infuriated and WILL be at the store demanding a manager in the morning. I NEED that money and will NEVER step foot in that hoor zone again!

    I brought my HP Pavilion for repairs on 11/09/19. The desktop could not boot and start windows "Boot Device Not Found". When I got the computer back, obviously I had to re-install all applications. But applications files for quicken were over a month old and excel files were several months old. Worse, when I started my desktop the next morning, the OS had disappeared again with the same Boot device Not Found error again. I called HP support and they reloaded the OS and this time the apps files were up to date, Webroot is no longer installed. I went with Mcafee as recommended by HP because it is more compatible. This membership that you sold me for over $200 was not worth it. I WANT MY MONEY BACK.

    When I signed up, car installations were free of charge regardless if purchased from Best Buy or not, and that is not the case anymore. Wasn’t notified at all and apparently it’s too late to get a full refund for this year. And even though I had a year under membership, coverage for ALL purchases would be removed even though I already paid for last year’s membership. Unless you plan to replace your items often, want free shipping, and can use the other services, maybe it’s for you. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend

    I contacted the Geek Squad on Sunday, April 26. They partially fixed my problem. After a somewhat negative review I had someone call me on Monday April 27, 2020 saying he was a supervisor with the Geek Squad and would take care of my problem.I was quite impressed with the response. I gave him remote access and notice awhile later that he was attempting to open my retirement and bank accounts. I disconnected, of course. I tried to report it to Best Buy indicating someone may be fraudulently using Best Buy's name. I tried the main headquarters but nobody seemed interested in helping or concerned about it. I am not impressed with your reactions as a company.

    So far support has been very disappointing because the wait is so long. I usually pick the callback option when I call for technical support but even when the callback occurs, you are then put on hold, in my cases for more than 30 minutes. And the Total Tech care calls are all funneled through the main Best Buy number so when someone answers, it is not a Total Tech technician. I got this service to support my purchase of a computer but If I have to wait more than an hour for help for a problem I am in the middle of, this is waste of money. I would advise people not to spend your money on this but look for another tech support option.

    I HAVE BEEN A GEEK SQUAD MEMBER AND SUPPORTED FOR YEARS AND HAVE BEEN VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE FAST, KIND, AND EFFECTIVE REMOTE SERVICE HELP. I NOW FIND LITTLE TO NO HELP, REFFERAL TO THE NEAREST STORE FOR HELP, POOR SERVICE IN THE STORE AND ALL OF THIS FROM RAISING MY SERVICE LEVEL TO THE CURRENT (LIKE FROM ABOUT $90 TO $250 PER YEAR). SO FAR THE $250 HAS PRODUCED NO SERVICE OTHER THAN ONE HOUSE VISIT BY NICE GEEKS HOWEVER THEY WERE NOT TO COMPLETE THE SERVICE AND THE SERVICE OFFERED WAS NOT OF MUCH VALUE, SO I THANKED THEM AND DID THE SERVICE MYSELF. WHY HAVE YOU DESTROYED SUCH A GREAT SERVICE THAT I AND MY COMPANY RELIED UPON FOR YEARS?

    I paid $200 to set up a new computer and have all files transferred. All of my files were not transferred to include years worth of photographs. I provided written instructions and my MS account info for the set up. They ignored my setup list and created a new MS account. They had my computer for two weeks and when I arrived for my appointment to pick it up, they had not even started. After waiting in the parking lot and called to pick it up, my old computer was in pieces... they were going to recycle it!! If they had done that, I would have never got all my missing files. The worst computer service possible.

    I took my 4 yr. old laptop for a clean-up and a boost of energy. After being convinced to install a new hard drive and multiple times I had to return it because it freezes the moment it turns on, I could have bought a new one for less money than I spent. I did end up buying a new laptop and they messed up the installation programs. When turning it on I must press ESC 10X+ for it to start but I'm afraid of what they would do to my new SURF try to current it.
