The heat burn hurts like crazy but for only the time it is on your skin. There is no residual pain. But it seems to work. It helps minimize the itching sensation but not fully obliterates the itch.

Besides the small plate getting hot really fast and feeling like a burn…it only last for a few seconds after but discomfort/pain from bite was relieved

Sounds crazy but this thing really works on bites and made the swelling stop. You will notice the difference by the next morning. Having said that, it stings when you push the button and it does it’s job. But can get used to it if it makes irritation go away!

Amazing product that actually works. It really helps my 9-year daughter and my wife from those nasty mosquito bites. After treating with this insect bite healer, their skin no longer itching and swelling. I think I will buy another one for my sister's family.

This works. Think of this like the hot spoon treatment for bug bites, but it is not for the faint of heart. It gets much, much, much hotter. If you have issues with seconds of intense focused pain, this is not for you, but if you can handle it, the benefits are worth it!

Works just it stated. I was pleasantly surprised when I used this on a mosquito bite and it took the itch away. Now I can heal up in a couple days instead of a couple weeks!

This little device really does the job. One word of caution. There is a mild burning effect that your feel from the heating. So, little ones may not like that, i found out first hand.

This is a weird little device but works. I guess it uses heat to kill the itch and it does get really hot and I dont think I can get use the feeling but it does work.

I bought this based on reviews. It works as stated. Now it could become too hot for some but only 6 seconds and no itch, I will endure. Itching disappears, cannot even tell where bitten after using this device. Sometimes I will use on same spot more than once.

My son-in-law purchased one of these last year. I tried it out, it worked so i had to get one. The only drawback is that the pad gets very hot, but that’s what kills the itch. I’ve already used mine several times and am glad i got it.

This actually works! It has two settings: a single click for 3 seconds, or if it's a bad bite double click for 6 seconds. It burns a bit and may not be suitable for children, but I've found it works great.

I have been doing a lot of yard work lately. Given the summer heat and sunny days, I do my yard work late in the evening. This attracts a ton of bugs on me. We have a lot of mosquitoes in general since we have a reservoir right behind our home. I tried bug spray but as my feet and hands get wet in the water, the bug spray gets washed away. I found this insect bite healer and I was very skeptical initially. To be honest the positive review made me try it out. Let me enunciate, it freaking works! I don't know how. Don't ask me but it works. You might, very likely, scream the very first time you will use it on yourself. It tries to burn the skin and inflammation on your skin. You will quickly get used to it though. My five-year-old kid got used to it and has no trouble in using it. Go with the 3-sec setting. Overall, you won't regret your purchase and no more relentlessly scratching your skin.

Didnt use a whole lot yet as it is end of bug season here but I did try it a couple times and it worked very well. Nice and compact and puts out enough heat to do the job.

This is a must buy!!! You won’t be sorry. This works perfect it really does get rid of the itch if you get a bite. I got sting from a yellow jacket and used this and it works right after i used in and no swelling after use. You never knew I just got stung.

I was skeptical, but this thing really does seem to neutralize mosquito bites. I was worried that the heat would burn and leave a scar, but there is no evidence of that. I plan to continue using it, because mosquitos love to bite my skin, and my other remedy -- Campho Phenique -- leaves oil on the skin. My one suggestion: they should add a keychain or a slipcase to make it pocket-friendly.

Just got this and had a chance to try it within a day. It is pretty uncomfortable and was thinking there would be burnt skin when it was done. However, no burnt skin, and the itch was gone. Very cool, and worth dealing with 6 seconds of discomfort.

Im very skeptical about products like these. Went out on a limb and tried it out and i am DEFINITELY satisfied. It burns just a little so you have yo rub it a bit but it gets rid of the bites and most importantly, THE ITCHING! 10 out of 10 recommend!

Works great for mosquito bites if treated as soon as possible. If I treat it too late, then it temporarily halts the itching and later have to do more to alleviate the itch. It stings a bit but much better than having unstoppable itches!

How? I have no idea, but i bought one to try. We camp and bot sets of grandparents live near wooded areas. Got a bite and was excited to try it out excluding the crazy need to itch the spot stung. Grabbed the healer put it over the bite and was shocked by the tingle of heat felt through the pad, I was not expecting that at all. The need to itch went down substantially immediately. It did not disappear but was greatly lessened. Within 5 minuts of application the need to itch is completely gone. I may buy a few of these to keep in cars and not just in the first aid kit. Incredible piece. Going to be interesting to use on the kids with the heat treatment portion.
