Hilariously bizarre mess of a movie makes it standout from the rest.

It's hard to describe why and just how good this movie is; it honestly hangs right on the very edge of being a terrible movie, but it has enough redeeming factors to save it from the void. These factors won't do you any good if you don't like lots of action and can't appreciate tons of character and raw charm that comes with the occasional bad line of dialogue or patch of sub-par acting. If you can look past such flaws, however, and you like the idea of Kurt Russell trash-talking his way through an adventure that will pit him and a bunch of his Chinese partners (including a wizard) against ancient Chinese demons--an adventure that will place him in the middle of a Chinese gang war for the sake of saving two women with green eyes--then you'll want to check out Big Trouble in Little China Town. But again, and I stress, if you're not a fan of classically, charmingly bad 80's movies, obviously, you should steer clear.

My personal all time favorite movie, 'Big Trouble in Little China' is one film that shouldn't be missed! Die hard fans will want to try and get a hold of the now out-of-print 2-disc special edition dvd. But for those who just simply like the film and don't want to spend a lot of money on the 2-disc, this single disc version is more than enough. Features both widescreen and full-screen presentations as well as the trailer and an excellent feature length commentary by director John Carpenter and actor Kurt Russell.

So the movie isn't as good as I remember but I know it a memorable movie. I saw it one or two times since Ive grown up you just don't remember all of it. I got it a bit a confused with the Running Man. Its still and an ok movie. the dude Egg is crazy funny and always squinting that one eye. anyway. I do think mortal combat was made partially from this and part from The Running Man. anyway, the quality was low dude to bad transfer. maybe it was on of the first movies to bluray or just didn't come out well. dvd quality with graininess. anyway its a watchable movie and it was great price.

This movie is great fun - maybe just a bit silly, but it still draws me in every time. The upgrade to blu-ray is very nice - I was impressed with the transfer, and it contained all the special features from the out of print DVD. Definitely, a great buy!

This movie came out in while Kurt Russell was acting in some of the best films of his career and is right up there with Escape from New York, the Thing, and other classics. The story is zany and original and the effects compliment it well.

This movie is so off the with its plot that it wasn't well received at first. I laughed my butt off the first time I watched it. The tongue in cheek humor is great and Kurt Russell pulls it off in style. Highly recommended!!!!

Still a fun movie to watch from the 80s. It looks surprisingly good on bluray for how old the film is. Also got it on sale for a few bucks too. After watching the bluray, I had to go order me a Wing Kong tshirt!

Look, I'm not going to argue about this. BTLC is the all time best man-movie of all time. It has Kurt Russell, magic, kung fu, comedy, monsters, and... um... a young Kim Cattrall in a wet t-shirt. Now in Blu-ray? Heck yes!

"I'm a reasonable guy. But, I've just experienced some very unreasonable things." John Carpenter drops 'average Joe' Kurt Russell into the middle of a mash-up of film noir, urban crime/gang war, kung-fu and sci-fi/fantasy films... and it is marvelous. This is an incredibly inventive and fun movie. Highly recommended.

This move is one of my all time favorite cult classic films. I love the campyness of it and the robust amount of characters they recruited for the film. I can't wait to see it on Blue Ray.

OH man, i love this film.. one of my all time favorites.. Probrably a cult hit but so many great lines in this movie.. Jack Burton your an icon my friend :)

John Carpenter made 8 movies in the 1980's and every one of them was great. This is an adventure comedy that has magic, monsters, Kung-Fu and Kurt Russell. Definitely a winner!!

A must have to any geek's blu-ray library. This movie is a must to have and to able to upgrade to blu-ray for under $10 is exactly what the doctor ordered.

Such a fantastic bluray transfer.stupendous audio and magnificent extra content. A funny and engaging , campy movie for this era .

this movie was amazing, Kurt did a great job in this movie! nostop action, crazy kung fu fights old chines demons, i'm want else could you ask for in a movie!

Set in San Francisco's Little China district this action/Horror/sci-fi movie is a must have for John Carpenter fans. The action is un-real.

It's a true classic. Kung fu and Chinese fighting foundations, with modern sensibilities with an American edge to it. Fantastic!
