Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this review is not about the movie itself, which is one of john carpenter's best; it is about the dvd itself: the widescreen version doesn't work (at least it doesn't work in the two players i tried it in). i select the widescreen version, and it plays the pan and scan version anyway. i put the disc in my computer and it won't read it (says it is the wrong region, which it isn't). in short, there appears to be much that is wrong about this dvd release. sure, it's cheap, but you are definitely getting what you pay for. i'm wondering if anyone else out there has had similar problems with this disc...
