4k Steelbook one of the best

The film itself was nothing to brag about. If your a big comic book fan and are building a collection you should pick it up, but try to get it on sale. The 4k steelbook is one of the nicest I own. High gloss and and nice cover. The transfer looks ok but I've seen better. The HDR does pop.

To start, as it was said in the summary, the steelbook is surprisingly beautiful, and looks much better in person. Now, about the movie....the video is great, the audio is fine (annoying mixed waaay too low), extras not half bad (I still will always want a commentary track), the film itself is....underwhelming. The cast is good (minus one or two actors) and everyone is doing a good job, but it's the script that let's everyone down. Harley Quinn is sadly teetering between annoying and unlikable; you want to empathize with her, and to be fair there are moments where you do, but because she's front and center while also bothering everyone around her you end up siding with everyone else. But the rest of the characters are well performed and interesting and fun, Black Canary, Huntress, Black Mask, and Zsasz managed to actually help carry the movie over the finish line...but barely because the rest of the film is bogged down with one character, Cassandra. Now I don't think it's okay to go after kid actors, so I won't, but I will say that the director did a poor job at getting her to give a decent performance, leading to most of her scenes to plummet and become the worst parts of the movie....and she's given the most amount of screen time after Harley. In regards to Cathy Yan, while I think this film was....not great, you can feel that there is a good director there, but just misguided with a poor script. So, can I recommend this? Yes and no, because this movie might work for some, but it doesn't work for me.

Above average film in a gorgeous steelbook!

We all know that once Snyder left overseeing the DC universe, the films, while some are very fun, have gone downhill. What began as a dark take on a share comic universe that set itself apart from Marvel, while it may not have appealed to everyone, it did to me and millions of others. This particular film on its own is a three out of five stars; however, the fact is that it is part of this still kind-of-held-together DC universe, and with that, it's a two out of five. I do not want to give anything away, but to not see one key character is a huge miss, it's overly lengthy, and at times it just tries too hard. On the other hand, everyone here is great in the parts they play, I love how the general look and feel is still very Suicide Squad, and at times the it's just fun. Still, it's 15 minutes too long, the fight scenes last far, far too long, and certain aspects will have you rolling your eyes. If you are a DC film collector, then you will obviously buy this as I did, and it is more or less just average. What makes it a solid three out of five stars versus a two, though, is the gorgeous steelbook. It's even better in person than it is in the photos! It's one of the best DC steelbooks, and I am happy to have it on my shelf! If the movie was just a bit better, this package would be four stars, but as it stands, it's a solid three.

The steelbook has a nice finish and great colors but the artwork is a photoshopped nightmare. The front has two different outfits from Harley stitched together with her top half wearing a gold jumpsuit that is switched for shorts to show off her legs on the cover. Complexly horribly done photoshop. The back is also disappointing since in the film you see this target has a cartoon picture of the joker with knives thrown into it. Those knives and the joker picture have been removed leaving an extremely dull back. The movie itself is great with the only downside a rushed and poorly executed third act fight that takes place in a funhouse. Everything else is extremely well done and an overall great film.

This film had potential, but it didn't fully satisfy me, if I'm being honest. And it's actually difficult to put my finger on exactly what it was that fell flat, because it was kind of a combination of things. I felt the cinematography, specifically during the climactic fight scene was visually uninteresting, and the soundtrack was too "pulled back"… I suspect the less than optimal sound mix and the somewhat dull filming/editing style are probably the things that took the punch out of what should have been the most powerful parts of the film. I actually wonder if even one of those things had been better executed if the other might have been less of an issue, but it's hard to say. Overall, just okay.

If you are a DC film collector, then you will obviously buy this as I did, but it is more or less just average. The actors do a fine job, and the story could have been good, but the film makers have forgotten what the DC comics audience is all about. Making these movies R-rated (This is the 2nd one for the DCEU) just shows the ignorance of the makers. Their R-rated creation is an "epic fail"; and it does not in any way compare favorably with Marvel. Continuing down this path simply will lead to the loss of the loyal DC audience.

I enjoyed this movie more than I thought I would. It's one of those movies where the plot gets going due to one simple happenstance that creates a butterfly effect sequence in a not quite comedy of errors. While I enjoyed this movie it does have a few flaws. Most notably it didn't need the Birds of Prey in the movie as they contribute nothing at all to the plot, at least in my opinion. Get it when its on sale.

Expecting a much more dynamic film than Suicide Squad, I was a bit let down by the story that I felt could've been stronger. The AV presentation however is quite strong with an impeccable Dolby Vision presentation and a slightly lackluster Dolby Atmos soundtrack. Still a fun movie if you aren't expecting much. Sadly I DID recieve a damaged steelbook case and none of my local Best Buy stores had this in stock to replace for me.

I purchased this because I like to collect any movies that is linked to Batman. Just like the Suicide Squad which was really good to have in my collection. But this film was not as I expected. A little boring if I may add. Steelbook is always nice to have but for the price of the set with a mediocre film to me is a little waste of money. I should have read the reviews of the film first prior to ordering this from bestbuy.

Eh it's ok. Better then suicide squad. Still kinda goofy tho. Not great but not terrible. It's mostly a Harley Quinn biopic and not so much a birds of prey group movie. They're in it, but they're like eh ten minutes of screen time background noise.

Harley has broken up with Joker, so any real ties to Suicide Squad end there. I bought this as my stepdaughter enjoys it, but Harley really isn't an engaging enough stand alone character to carry a movie by herself. Thank goodness for the inclusion of Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, who increases the watchability of anything she's in.

I had high hopes for this movie, but for me, it didn't deliver. I don't know if it was bad script, bad director, or a bit of both. It just never quite got off the ground. I'm reminded of what Johnny Rotten said at the end of the Sex Pistols' last concert at Winterland, "Do you get the feeling you've been cheated"? The answer is "Yes Johnny I do".

I really debated for quite some time if I even wanted to purchase this movie as I was pretty disappointed in it. The only redeeming factor in the movie is Margot Robbie's portrayal of Harley Quinn. I would give Margot Robbie 5 stars and the movie itself 1 star. Therefore, I averaged it out to a 3 star rating.

A decent sequel for the action side of Suicide Squad, but the plot is rather weak, compared to the first, and Robbie comes off a little to wacky for my tastes.. Also, I find it amazing how many people she made enemies of.. The villain was "quite" good in this movie..

I love reading Batman and their associated characters but this movie moves/strays too far off script form the 70s through early 2000s comic books. Expected better story line especially with all the characters involved and was disappointed. Good special effect though.

Too much emphasis on the Harley Quinn character. Suicide Squad worked well because of all the characters shared the spotlight and interacted well. Birds Of Prey was all about the Harley Quinn character and it just did not work as well. But it was entertaining.

Big fan of DC comic book characters and collect all the movies regardless on my ratings. The movie strays away from DC icon characters in the comics to the big screen. So keep an open mind to the entertainment of the movie and not a critic of a comic book fan.

I wish I loved it more as I am a DC fan but the movie left me very underwhelmed. Had some fun moments but it’s a Harley Quinn movie with some cool fight scenes but not a great story. Steelbook is cool but definitely don’t feel the need to rewatch it.
