Customers enjoy the AirRAM Bagless Upright Vacuum's lightweight design, long battery life, and powerful suction. Many appreciate its ease of use and cordless convenience, along with the bright LED lights which aid visibility. However, some find the dustbin to be on the smaller side, requiring more frequent emptying.

Premium Lightweight Vacuum Good for Light Cleaning

This is a premium vacuum targeted for those who need a powerful and basic vacuum to clean small areas and minor messes. It is great for those looking for a lightweight vacuum to use for light cleaning. I would look at other vacuums if you have more heavy duty cleaning needs covering larger areas with a variety of tools and attachments; or if you need a light duty vacuum with more features at a similar price point. Not recommended as a replacement for a real heavy duty vacuum cleaner, but recommended as a supplement to one for light, spot cleaning in small areas Pros: -Handsfree Canister Cleaning -Bagless -Lightweight -Cordless -Unique green color -Swivel, lay flat steering -Multi surface brush roll -Powerful suction -Easy to assemble -LED Headlight included -Collapsible handle -Removable battery Cons: -No 2-in-1 capabilities (it is only a stick vacuum) -No wet usage -No attachments or tools included -Long recharge time (4 hours) for a battery that lasts 30-40 minutes -No HEPA filter

The idea of a cordless, bagless, tankless vacuum cleaner is great and this one delivers in all respects. (Technically, there's a canister that needs emptying but it's much smaller and much less cumbersome than the ones in larger, corded vacuums.) I see this vacuum as filling the need of a quick, lite clean up job, say in preparation for company coming over or when you don't want to have to pull out the big vacuum for a small job. It's also great to keep as a "spare" at the other end of a larger house or to keep upstairs in a multi-story house. Assembly out of the box was very simple with clear instructions. Charging is likewise straightforward. The battery is quoted as 30 minute runtime on a full charge. I haven't had the opportunity to try that out to the fullest extent, but I've used the vacuum on and off over multiple days without having to recharge after the initial, out of the box charge up. Emptying/cleaning the canister is easy and straightforward and much less messy/dusty than the bigger vacuums. The two cons I see are that (1) you have to pull the roller out for shag carpets/rugs and (2) the price. Addressing the first con, I truly yearn for the day when someone makes a no maintenance vacuum that will suit all floor types, carpet/rug thickness, etc. And, as for the price, I believe if this was priced at $50 less, it would be a no brainer as a second, spare vacuum to keep around.

Having owned a Dyson. I was pretty surprised. It was easy to setup. Emptying the cartridge was simple. The baterry had a 4 led system to tell you how much power there is left. It vacuums hardwood to carpet with ease. Was light to carry over different floors. Cleans well with no cords. Can buy a spare battery and charge it for heavy cleaning days. Definetly good for a 1500-2000 sqft house or as a spare on the main floor. I still would lean on my Dyson as a main full house vacuum.

Love this vacuum. Being cordless is the best part of this vacuum. I can go all over my house without having to unplug a cord and switch it to another outlet. It's lightweight, has good power suction. Adjustable handle for easy storage, doesn't take up a lot of space in the closet. Charges with a wall adapter. This vacuum is great for the quick clean up, I would recommend still having a bigger vacuum with a cord for a larger household. This vacuum is a great buy!

pros: good suction/power bright light, wide across face for illuminating dark corners lightweight, easy to use and store removable brush - good for vacuuming objects that might get tangled around it easy to clean cons: minor nit pick - the vacuum part on the floor could be slightly shorter, to fit under objects that are closer to the floor.

    Best Stick Vacuum Ever!

I've never really noticed how annoying lugging out a full size vacuum was until I had a different option. The convenience alone makes this stick vac worth every penny. It's light, powerful, and small, not much beats that in a vacuum. The suction on this vacuum is 100X better than what I thought it would be. I have only ever had the really cheap $20 stick vacs and those things wouldn't pick up anything. This vacuum grabs every pieces of hair and dust on the floor. It's incredibly light and lays almost flat so it makes getting under furniture a breeze. Bissle took a really neat approach to the canister here. It's a little box in the base that pops out. Rather than have to shake it to get all the gunk out, they added a little level that pushs everything out for you. It's a really cool feature. The battery life on the vac might be the only downside. Bissle says you'll get 30 minutes off one charge, which seems accurate. So, if you have a very large house you may not be able to use this as your main vac. But, if you have a smaller home, ours is around 1600 sq feet, then you should be fine. We haven't used anything but this vac since we got it and our floors look awesome. I highly recommend this vac.

Cordless vacuum is great for quick cleanups

The vacuum works great. The cordless feature is wonderful, not only for whole house cleaning, but for quick cleanups. The unit came with about half charge, so I was able to use it out of the box. It was simple to put together, no tools needed. The lower handle locks into place and the upper handle has one button that you press to snap it into the lower handle. I have one insignificant issue with the unit and packing. The packing issue is the roller button is taped in the Styrofoam and can be easily missed. The only mention of it is in the manual's parts list and it states to look elsewhere in the manual for it's use. There is no "elsewhere in the manual" that I saw, but the use is obvious, so no biggie. The issue I have with the unit is said button. It's small, like the size of a dime and there should be a place to store it on the unit. There isn't, so this is one of those items that gets put in a junk drawer or lost among all the other little used items. Then when you need it, it just a frustration to locate it. A simple slot or cubby on the unit would have been convenient. That said, I very happy with the vacuum's suction power and the lack of being tethered to a wall outlet.

    Ok Vacuum Cleaner!

The Bissell Air Ram is a vacuum that performs fair, but not for a long period of time. The product is very easy to assemble, all one needs to do is attach and lock 2 main parts to the base and add the battery on last. The performance of the vacuum is decent. It picked up debris particles ok and after vacuuming my living room, my area rugs, which are huge they were pretty clean. The following are the pros and cons of the unit: PROS: *The unit is very easy to assemble. *The battery is easy accessible thus making it easy to attach and detach. *The unit’s ability to suction is pretty strong. However, I will note, I have used better. * Power lights that inform how much power is left during cleaning. CONS: *The unit is pretty heavy in the hand. *The charging time which takes approximately 5 hours is too long. *The battery doesn’t last long enough. *The ergonomics of the unit is NOT user friendly in my opinion, it felt as if the handle was not securely locked while I was vacuuming. The unit has swivel steering, but in my opinion it feels out-of-control. *The cord on the charger is too short. *The overall make is plastic which makes it suspect in how long the product will last. *They should have put a traditional plug in unit as opposed to a portable battery because that would have eliminated the worry of rushing to finish before the battery runs out. *The compartment that houses the dirt bag is too small, which means you would have to empty it frequently. I think Bissell tried to be innovative with this product by including a lithium battery and making a design that is very user friendly from an assembly perspective. Unfortunately, in my opinion there are too many negatives that outweighs the positives that make this unit not something that is consumer-friendly from an overall aspect. Also, from a pricing perspective this unit is indeed overpriced, there are so many available units on the market that out performs this unit from several aspects, but are cheaper in pricing.

As small as this vac was, I did not expect it to work this well. Out of the box, the battery was a little less than halfway charged, but following the instructions, it was easy to see when all four lights were solid and it was completely charged. Read through the instructions and the roller is easy to clear, and the bin is extremely easy to empty. There are no settings to change, and the suction is strong on hard floors. I cleaned the entire bottom floor of the house, and there was over 50% battery left, so I'm sure I (or, more likely, my kids) could finish the entire house on one charge very easily. The charge time is apparently around 5 hours. I would like to note that we do not have any carpet in our house, so we really just use it as a sweeper, but it's much easier than using a broom and dustpan.

For a cordless stick vac, this was pretty powerful and cleaned up the carpeted stairs pretty well, which is where I tested it first. It also emptied out fairly easily. I can see this being used as a spot cleaner around the house. Also my 5 year old had no problems using it on hardwood and stone floors to spot clean. My 2 year old even used it with some help from the 5 year old. Battery charge lasts long enough for spot cleaning duty. It is rather noisy for the amount of suction generated, but I've never had a quiet stick vac that had decent suction, so I'm fine with that.

We are owners of the wonderfully crafted Pet Hair Eraser. We had to try it when we received the AirRam from Best Buy. This unit is simple to use, and built with minimum components to minimize potential future issues. The battery is long lasting for simply daily chores. It really eliminates the hassle of having to plug in the main vaccum when you have simple tasks such as cleaning the kitchen floor or pick up debris or pet food that's around our cat's food bowls. I highly recommend getting this little companion if you like to keep a neat and clean house. A must buy!!!

This vacuum is great at picking up dirt, dust, pet hair, etc from the floor. I've used it on hardwood, deep carpet, and short carpet and it performs great. It has lots of power, it runs for as long as I need it; I haven't had to recharge it yet. It is a simple, elegant design, and it is solid and durable. I've knocked it around a bit. It's fun to use. It does not include any attachments, I don't think it's even compatible with attachments, which is a plus or a minus depending on what you want. If you don't need attachments, this is awesome and you don't have to worry about wonky storage issues. Speaking of storage, it has an ok capacity, a trade-off between capacity and convenience. I have pets, and I find that I have to empty it every couple of minutes because it fills up. The good part is that I know it's picking stuff up! It's one weakness is corner and edge cleaning. It can't get right up to the very edge of your carpet, so if you are especially dirty, you'll have to follow up with a hand-held or something.

Setup of this vaccume took less than 5 minutes. The design is excellent and easy to maneuver around objects. It's very light and easy to use on stairs and move between floors. Most importantly it's very powerful and did a great job deep cleaning the carpet as well as wood floors. I'm very happy with this device and would recommend it.

Bissell AirRam is an Excellent Vacuum!

I live in a two story home with laminate and tile flooring throughout. It is always a chore to have to lift a heavy vacuum to the second floor to do the cleaning. Not only that, I would have to plug and unplug the cord several times to find the closest electrical outlet in order to reach all parts of my home. I was eager to try the Bissell AirRam Cordless 2-in-1 stick vacuum when it became available. The vacuum is light, weighing only 7.8 lbs. Bissell also made the assembly a snap. It was a simple four step process to attach the upper and lower handle, the lithium ion battery, and the vacuum head. The filter and dirt bin already came pre-assembled in the vacuum head. The Bissell AirRam performs very well. I was able to vacuum the entire first and second floor of my home without having to deal with the hassles of a cord. Suction is powerful. It picks up dirt, debris, and hair with no problem. The lights on the front of the vacuum illuminate the floor directly ahead showing the dust that is about to be sucked into the vacuum. The motor remains powerful throughout vacuuming. It does not start fading when the battery is close to depleting like many battery operated devices. I also like that the vacuum is easy to maneuver. This is due to both its lightweight and the fact that the handle can swivel freely. Another thing I like is that the handle can be laid down flat horizontally. I was able to vacuum and reach underneath my bed by placing the handle flat against the floor....really impressed by this! There was an instance when I was vacuuming around the floor where I had some audio cables and the wires accidentally got caught in the brush roll of the vacuum. At that very instant, the vacuum shut down immediately as a safeguard and I was able to remove the wires. A traditional corded vacuum would have eaten up the wires around the cylindrical brush roll and kept on spinning until it is shut off. With this Bissell vacuum, the instant the brush roll exceeds some resistance threshold, it will power off the vacuum. I think this is a great feature to be built into the vacuum. Emptying the dirt is effortless. Just remove the bin from the vacuum head, open the bin lid, and push a lever to empty the dirt into a wastebasket. The filter is re-usable and washable. I cannot really think of anything negative to say about the Bissell AirRam. If I nitpicked, I can say that it has trouble picking up the dirt/debris at corners, but then again most vacuums have difficulty in this area. I would not hesitate recommending this vacuum. In fact, I plan to purchase one or two more to give as gifts. I love that it is cordless, powerful, lightweight, and easy to clean and maintain.

This vacuum is light, easy to empty and powerful. The problem is the battery. It takes 4 hours to charge for 30 minutes of use. This is fine for a small apartment or to use in between major vacuums. Unlike a lot of bag-less vacuums, the canister is easy to empty and doesn't create a mess. It also works great on pet hair. I have a long haired Pomeranian that sheds a lot and this had no trouble picking up his fur. The attachments can't be stored on the vacuum like others.

I didn't know what to expect from a stick vac since I'm used to more bulky vacuum cleaners but I was pleasantly surprised by how well this performed. Being cordless is a great feature (because who loves getting tangled up in cords lol). The only negative (if it can even be called that) is the fact that the dirt canister is small so you would have to empty it quicker than you would a full sized vacuum. But if you're pressed for space or want something that you can grab quickly to do some quick vacuuming then this is definitely something worth looking at.

So, I was excited to try this new lightweight, easy to use vacuum cleaner, and ended up being pretty underwhelmed by it. It was easy to put together, but when I first tried it on some new throw rugs in my basement, it sputtered and shut down. After doing more research, it turns out that this thing is only good for low pile/flat carpeting, and not anything plush or thick. Also, emptying the roller compartment out, and re-installing it was kind of a pain, and the instructions weren't that easy to follow. We'll use it for spot cleaning, on the stairway carpeting, and some flat throw rugs, but by no means will this thing even come close to replacing any "real vacuum" cleaner..

Pros: - convenient - easy to use - lightweight - good for light traffic and quick pickups between major vacuuming. Cons: - Underpowered - has trouble with larger items that may be on the floor other than hair and small dirt particles. - Not a good replacement for a full sized plug in vacuum as it has troubles with more soiled areas. Overall I was not very impressed with the power of this vacuum. I do understand that it is battery powered so it's never going to be as good as a standard upright vacuum but the performance of this vacuum was very underwhelming. If you are just looking for a vacuum to do quick sweeps of high traffic areas to pick up a little dirt every now and then, then this vacuum is not to bad. It's good for quick pickups and light traffic. Unfortunately it just does not have the power to clean heavy traffic areas as well as a more powerful plug in vacuum. Larger items are typically left behind and it sometimes takes two or three passes to get smaller items up as well. It is convenient that you don't have to worry about cables and can just grab the thing and go but as I said its lacking as a full on replacement for my corded vacuum. If you're looking for a full vacuum replacement look elsewhere, but if you just want something that makes it easy to vacuum small areas quickly between more thorough vacuuming sessions then this is not a bad idea.

BISSELL AirRam "1984" cordless stick vacuum cleaner It seems that the Bissell AirRam cordless stick vacuum is a rebranded Gtech AirRam Mk2 sold in the UK. Gtech also sells a "K9" variant of their AirRam Mk4, where high wear and tear plastic parts, inside the head unit, are replaced with more durable metal parts. The Bissell AirRam does not appear to have any of the heavier duty "K9" metal components. The Bissell AirRam is also not a "2-in-1." The AirRam is strictly for floors, crucially with no crevice and/or vertical surface cleaning capability. The AirRam is intended for dry vacuum cleaning only, no fluids may be vacuumed. Also, for very delicate carpets/floor coverings, the AirRam's brush roller can be removed (and replaced by a special cap/plug) to turn the AirRam into a pure vacuum device. This mode of operation is also recommended on floor surfaces with deep crevices. The AirRam is not intended for use on rough concrete or tarmac surfaces. The AirRam has a user washable, pre-motor air filter, but this is not a HEPA rated filter. (Apparently, the AirRam's ability to expel micro particulates into the air is enough of a problem that Gtech's K9 Mk2 variant comes with scented plugs, that are inserted inside the washable pre-motor air filter, to cover the aroma of flying pet dander.) After washing, the cleaned air filter can't be re-inserted into the AirRam until it is completely dry. The AirRam cannot be operated without a filter in place or else the motor will be damaged. I tested the AirRam on carpeted and hard tile floors. The roller brush is driven by the air flow of the motor. Where ever the roller brush makes direct contact, the AirRam is fairly effective in removing dirt. One problem that I noticed with runner carpets, is that the tiny gap along the sides of the runner significantly degraded the AirRam's ability to remove debris from the adjacent surface below the runner. This necessitates a minimum of three or more passes to fully clean along raised edges. The AirRam is also not very effective along the wall edges of wall-to-wall carpeting, where the roller brush makes no contact. While it is a novelty to have the air flow drive the roller brush, that same air flow is not available for edge pickup vacuuming. Removing and replacing the roller to leverage edge pickup can become a tedious chore. The charge level LED indicators perform double duty. All four LEDS flash red anytime the roller brush becomes entangled and jams. Once a roller jam has occurred, the AirRam automatically cuts power. The LEDs will remain red for approximately 10 seconds thereafter. At that point the AirRam can be restarted, provided that the jam has been physically cleared. As charge level indicators, the LEDs glow green, but they only provide a very rough gauge of charge level. I was very surprised to learn that when the AirRam's battery drained down to two LEDs (50% charge), in use, immediately thereafter plugging the charger into the battery resulted in only one LED flashing green. I want to maximize the calendar life of the AirRam's Lithium ion battery, so I want to start recharging whenever the Lithium ion battery drops to 50% of a full charge. It's very annoying to me that two lit green LEDs during operation can routinely conceal that the battery is really somewhere between 25% and 50% of a full charge. The relatively small dust cup fills up quickly, requiring several cycles of emptying before a large room has been completely vacuumed. You will know that the cup requires emptying when the AirRam begins leaving balls of debris behind, rather than picking everything up. Also, too, the AirRam does nothing close to pelletizing/compressing debris inside the dust cup and emptying can take many swipes of the ejector slider to completely empty the cup. Proof that you can't believe everything you see on YouTube. I can identify two very likely points of failure on the AirRam. The tab that secures the dust cup emptying cap is made of very thin plastic. That tab can also make potentially damaging contact with the dust cup ejector slider, if you accidentally try to close the cap without first pushing the ejector slider further back. (The ejector slider should have a spring that automatically pushes the slider out of the way when closing the dust cup cap, but it doesn't.) I predict that the dust cup cap closure tab will break sooner, rather than later, from normal wear and tear. The surprisingly fragile item is the washable permanent filter. The closed end of the filter has a tongue-and-groove rubber gasket that fits over the corresponding end of the hard plastic filter housing. I was astonished to see that gasket fall away with ejected dust cup contents in the first day of AirRam use. Somehow, debris got lodged around the seam, between the rubber and the open cell foam filter, such that ejecting the debris tore the rubber gasket off the the filter. When I called into Bissell about this showstopper problem, I was informed that Bissell has no replacement filters in stock at this time, with no estimated date of inventory relief. This is simply not acceptable for a brand new product line. Keep in mind that the Gtech AirRam in the UK uses the exact same filter and has been on the market for several years. When functionally intact, I can only rate the Bissell "1984" AirRam stick vacuum as a light duty floor vacuum, with very problematic edge cleaning capabilities. Given the lack of spare filters in inventory and the seeming fragility of the filter in everyday use, I cannot recommend the Bissell AirRam to others, at this time. Once the parts shortage is corrected, only then can I resume evaluating the AirRam for possible recommendation to others. This item was originally mis-described as a 2-in-1 vacuum. It would be significantly better for edge/crevice/corner cleaning if it were a 2-in-1, or was offered with a comparable companion hand held vacuum.
