Aside from the top-notch ratings from antivirus review sites, Bitdefender Premium Security is a well-engineered product with a lot of features. First, there's the world-class antivirus. Bitdefender also has plugins for common browsers to protect against malicious websites. The VPN is high performance and it's a valuable addition to the suite (often available only at an extra cost from other AV vendors). The VPN is very easy to use - click and it's on, though with just a few more clicks, it's possible to connect virtually to servers in 36 countries (including fifteen in the US and two in the UK) if you want to hide/change your visible IP address. The vulnerability scan is very valuable. I'm a retired security expert and I found two of the suggestions extremely valuable. They were things I had overlooked doing on my own Windows system. Being slightly paranoid, those suggestions were worth the price of the package right there. Installation was trivial. The first system I installed it on, I uninstalled the current AV package, but it still complained about malwarebytes (a free malware detection product) that I had installed. On the second system, I installed it even though the AV was running. It properly detected it and popped up a window to uninstall it. I did and, after the reboot, it came right back to the install. Nicely engineered..At any rate, I have a new favorite AV package (previously, I've used Norton, F-Secure, Kaspersky,Trend, Sophos, and Avast One). The pasword storage package is easy to use, though I'll probably stick to KeePass-2 for most of my password storage as it's opensource. The only possible downside I see to Bitdefender is that the company is based in Romania and that used to be a hotspot for virus origination.

When I received the email to download the Bitdefender Premium Security I couldn’t wait to try it. First and foremost I had never heard of this company. I couldn’t believe the fact that I was able to download it on 10 devices, but its true (haven’t hit the limit yet) and I thought I wouldn’t have any trouble with fulfilling that many since I own so many devices. The reason I only give it 4 stars is for this reason, I tried it first on an IOS device and when it completed its first scan it indicated that my IOS was not up to date, and I had enabled auto-updates on. I went to settings and checked to see if in fact it was up to date and it said it was. I went back to the Bitdefender App and tried another scan at which time it said the same thing. I un-installed the App thinking that was my issue. I then went back to the App Store and downloaded it again and had to enter all my saved data once again, I did the initial scan and was given the same code, IOS was an older version. I went back to the settings App and tried again, and received the same response that my version was up to date. I contacted the company and told them that I was trying to install Bitdefender and what was happening. The lady I spoke w/ said to shut it off and then turn it back on and see if that would resolve my issue. Sure enough, as soon as I did and went back to settings it showed that IOS on my device was an older version. Maybe I am punishing the makers of Bitdefender by only giving them four stars, but I am grateful to know it picked up on that. It was just the time consuming effort I had to put into it. As far as its protection, it is VERY, VERY GOOD. I have it installed on my cellphone, my wife’s, my son’s, each of our laptops and they run very smoothly. My son is in college and he had to turn his off for some reason and get the IT Dept. at the College to look at it and again, it was a settings issue that he could not log onto their system. All in all I am well pleased w/ the Bitdefender Premium security.

There is a lot to choose from when it comes to PC security. The choices have gotten smaller over the years as some key players have improved their toolset and optimized the software to be less of a security anchor and more of a security sail. Bitdefender, which I’m using for the first time, has been a pleasant surprise in it’s lower resource use and security recommendations on what I felt was a fairly secure laptop. Pros: - Application is fast and intuitive to navigate. - Checks for insecure windows settings and automatically corrects them. - Has compatible password manager for many browsers/devices. - System scanner is lightweight on resources and runs in the background without being intrusive. - Autopilot feature gives recommendations on being more secure. - VPN is decently fast for everyday tasks such as browsing, shopping, email, video. - Includes other tools such as system optimizer, safepay browser, parental controls - Profiles settings depending on what tasks are being performed (work, gaming, battery saver, etc.) Cons: - Password manager was a bit hard to find at first, requires master password too often. - Have to use web UI to manage computers/subscription instead of the installed app. I’ve been a big fan of paid antivirus software for a while. The difficulty is finding software that doesn’t completely overrun your PC, provides great protection with minimum amount of resources, works without being annoying. Bitdefender so far seems to do all of this while living quietly in the corner of my taskbar. After installation you run a “Device Assessment” which checks the security of your device. Right away it found a few security recommendations, mostly due to windows settings. One involved turning off where the PC would automatically log back in after a windows update. The other was website risk assessment adjuster was enabled so that you could change a websites risk assessment, therefore making protections for a more risky site less effective. Both were quickly fixed. During my full system scan it found an issue with an email attachment. This one was a bit annoying since it was discovered in an Outlook Data file but it couldn’t delete the affected email. Which is understandable, I wouldn’t want it to just delete emails without me looking first anyways, but it failed to give me any details on what attachment to look for so I could manually find and delete it from my inbox. I would assume it’s likely in spam or junk, but I’d like to clear it anyways. Bitdefender is also loaded with side tools I normally expect with security software to battle the most common issues users face. Privacy, ransomware, firewall, VPN, password manager, safe browser, parental controls, optimizer, and several others. All work pretty well. The VPN was fast enough for day to day browsing, shopping, reading news. It offers split tunneling, internet killswitch, and download speeds around 120-130 mbps with upload speeds around 30-40 mbps. Latency is also a little high on the VPN but most folks won’t notice it. I also played around with the password manager which I had mixed feelings about. First setting I found that hinted at password management was the Wallet feature. Along with saving bank information, autofill information, and notes, it also acted as a password manager. Later I was able to find the stand-alone password manager which is much more intuitive. I was able to easily import my passwords from my other password manager as well as install on a supported browser. I was glad to see FireFox support. Autofill, saving and updating of password changes all happen intuitively, I did find it annoying how often I had to use my master password to get back into the manager when browsing. I thought I had adjusted some settings that would reduce this, but alas, I found myself logging back in. This is probably the safest way to use a password manager, but I’d like to have at least more options on when it times out. There’s not really much to not like about Bitdefender. It has a high level of security and the few cons are really personal quirks about the level of security they take their applications rather than actual issues with the app. I wouldn’t hesitate at all to recommend this to a friend or family member.

As with most people, over the years I have used a gamut of virus protection. Some of which seemed to work ok and some that seemed to gum up my system and slow it to a crawl. The Bitdefender security protection software seems to be one that works well. I barely know its there and it definitely doesn't slow up my computer. While one would assume this is just a virus scan software, Bitdefender has made this package more valuable by offering several other add ons that come free such as a VPN, popup blocker and a password manager. I tried the antivirus and VPN on my personal laptop as well as my apple iphone and both worked great. The scan on my iphone was incredibly fast, revealing that my iOS is out of date and that the wifi i was on wasn't secure, cue the VPN which also worked well. The VPN has what's called a kill switch that suspends all internet traffic if the connection accidently drops. There are also many additional features and settings inside each offering that you can turn on and off to get what you want out of your service. It's relatively user friendly and has explanations for each thing you're toggling on and off, which is a plus for people that aren't as familiar. All in all, I would say this is as the title says, a premium offering from Bitdefender and worth the cost with all the extra services and the fact that you can use this on 10 devices.

I have been using Bitdefender for a couple of years now and this latest product does not disappoint. I have it installed on three of my own devices along with a couple of my family’s devices and we have had no problems at all. First, I feel that the security scan for viruses is great. It is thorough, regularly updated and barely noticeable running in the background. There is very little memory usage and does not impact how my MacBook Pro, iPhone or iPad run. The family has nearly equal amounts of devices and they have not had any noticeable drag in their performance. The unlimited VPN for both your laptop and mobile devices is very helpful. I travel frequently and do now want to use the unsecured open access that is provided in many places so I make sure the VPN is on as soon as a connection is made. It is also configureable to not be in use on known networks. The program also has very good built in ransomeware and phishing protection. It also helps to determine where you may have compromised user ID information and passwords by running scans for you on ID’s you use. Although I don’t use it, there are also parental controls that can be configured for younger family members. All in all, you cannot go wrong with this security product. It does everything you need and is thorough without being memory or CPU intensive. Definitely one you should try out for yourself.

Bitdefender’s Premium Security software is a great full suite of security software that can be used on up to 10 devices. Since we all have many internet-connected devices now, security software is more important than ever, and Bitdefender’s Premium Security software is a great option considering you get a one-year subscription at one low price for up to 10 devices. As with most security software available on the market, Bitdefender’s Premium Security Software detects and blocks web attacks, ransomware, and other cyber threats but does so with very little impact on PC performance in comparison to some of these other software providers. In addition, it includes an unlimited VPN for complete online privacy and a fully featured password manager which not only helps keep my credentials safe, but also makes it easier to login to the many different sites that require passwords since the password manager keeps track of the passwords for me. This is my first experience using any sort of password manager and it is so helpful that I cannot imagine not using it in the future. It really does make a big difference. Overall, Bitdefender’s Premium Security software is a very helpful bundle of high-quality security software for up to 10 devices and I highly recommend it!

This Bitdefender Premium suscription includes 10 devices across all platforms, making it convenient and versatile depending on your needs. I am able to use this on my laptop, desktop, and my family cell phones. VPN: I was pleased that this suscription comes with unlimited VPN with plenty of choices. My VPN speed did not drop at all when I selected a nearby city. When I selected some european countries, speed dropped about one third. My regular speed was 30Mbps and connecting to Denmark, I was getting 22Mbps. The VPN connection is unlimited. If you have children, Premium also offers parental controls allowing to see virtually all aspects of their device. Of course you'll have to grant tons of permissions to be able to view your child's activities, but it can offer you peace of mind. It showed me location, contacts added, and enabled time limits. Premium also has a password manager which comes by Chrome extension or a desktop app. You set a Master Password and then store a recovery key in case you lose the master password. Lastly, you get the theft protection where you can locate, snap photos of password attempts, and wipe data if needed. Overall, I like Bitdefender because it runs light, can enhance your device performance, and is user friendly.

I absolutely love this antivirus. It does more than just protect your computer from viruses. The integrated VPN is fast and responsive. The VPN also didn’t seem to cause any issues when searching the web or streaming services. It protects my Time Machine backups. It has help block so many pop-ups and other nowhere and we’re kind of things. Installation was easy from the email sent to download. The premium support feature I used once and that was nice to be able to contact them for help and get support within minutes. This antivirus also doesn’t seem to consume a lot of resources on the computer which for me means that I don’t have to worry about it slowing down my computer or interfering with my gaming. I installed this on a Mac and two Windows PCs, and it seem to work well on all devices. Quick scans on the machines didn’t take more than four or five minutes and full system scans never took more than 10 minutes. This is a great set up for anyone looking for virus protection, and the more I would encourage anyone looking at this kind of a set up to purchase this.

I needed an internet / antivirus security suite to put on my phones, tablets and spare computers. I already had one for my main computers. Bitdefender Premium Security gives you protection for up to 10 devices, including PC's, Android, Mac and iOS. Unfortunately I couldn't put Bitdefender on two of my older Android tablets, since Bitdefender only goes back to Android 5. My bad for not double-checking in advance, but I've encountered this issue before with older Android devices not being covered by AV software. I put Bitdefender on our two current Android phones, a Windows 11 tablet and a Windows 11 laptop. It's a good suite of software, which of course has antivirus and also includes a VPN (virtual private network) which is great when you're traveling and may be using less-than-trustworthy internet connections. A password manager, as well as antispam, antitheft, ransomware protection, a firewall and file shredder are included. The software is easy to use and depends on what type of device it's on. Obviously for a phone, it can screen spam calls and texts, something it wouldn't do on a computer. The software doesn't slow down the devices and doesn't have so many messages that it becomes annoying. Overall a good AV security suite that will work on many devices and keep them safe.

This was easy enough to install and download. It's like a one stop shop for computer and online security. I like the option of VPN as well. The added security while online shopping this year was nice as I've had issues in the past with fraudulent charges and banks don't make it easy to get your money back. It was nice to have the option to cover multiple devices however I'm trying this out on one computer for now. I don't notice any slow down in performance if I'm scanning in the background and doing anything else on my computer at the same time. I like the extra spam layer as all email companies say they block it but weird stuff always manages to pop through. I've been experimenting with the parental control as well now that we have a child who is reading age and interested in the internet. We can't get around him accessing it especially as his curiosity grows and more homework comes home. I appreciate another layer of security even though we browse together. This is a great all around product if you are looking to be covered and not buy multiple products.

Bitdefender - The Best Online Security Protection

Cybersecurity is essential if you use the internet at all. If you are interacting in society, I don’t know how you keep from not using the web/internet at some point with either your mobile devices or computer. I have tried several paid security programs over the years and there are four or five good competitors on the market, but for the last few years I have trusted Bitdefender with my work and personal information. I have been using the Total Security program on 5 devices. It has alerted me when someone is trying to hack into my system, warns me of phishing scams, protects my information against malware, spyware and adware and provides a multi-level ransomware protection. It is also equipped with parental controls and has excellent device optimizer software built into the security software that helps keep my computer running smoothly. I just recently upgraded to Bitdefender Premium Security and Privacy Pack, this version is also designed to be used on Android, Windows, Mac, and iOS operating systems but it can be used on 10 devices. It is the ultimate protection combining password management, unlimited VPN use, and cyber threat detection. The program is very easy to install and pretty much runs on autopilot. It detects data threats, network threats, assesses vulnerability to attacks, anti-phishing, works with some email clients to filter out spam e-mail, and can identify fraudulent websites that are there to try to scam people and warn not to enter the site. Bitdefender has different profiles for office (work), gaming and movies. It has many features that gives the user the ultimate privacy and protects for their personal information, and that includes helping the user stay safe from online threats through social networking. One of the features that Total Security also offers is Safe Online Banking. This is offered in the Premium package too and it works very well. For additional monthly/yearly cost, other features can be added that can alert the user to bank and credit card transactions, any changes to their investment accounts, help monitor their credit reports and identify when theft identity is occurring. To install and use Bitdefender PREMIUM SECURITY the system requirements include having an operating system of Windows 7 with Service Pack 1, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 or Windows 11. Your device should also have 2 GB of RAM Memory and 2.5 GB free hard disk space. Bitdefender has saved my hard drive from being compromised on several occasions. I trust the software and the company and searched a few years and tried several before I concluded that this is the best online software protection on the market. Nothing is completely failproof, but your chances of having less headaches from online incidences is probably greatest with the use of Bitdefender PREMIUM SECURITY. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a strong security system to help protect their online presence.

Bitdefender Security First off, writing a review for virus protection software is a little bit difficult. It would be easier if I knew my computer was infected with something and I could actually assess the ablity of the software to clear the problem. Alas, that is not my situation. So, I will try to explain what's helpful about the product. I’ve used Bitdefender’s free versions for years, I should say, so I already trust the product to an extent. I have used other virus software as well, and I think this is a reliable product comparable to the other big names. I like that it has multiple licenses, as I’ve been using the free version on several devices for years and want to upgrade them. Bitdfender also does what many companies are doing in offering a suite of utilities with their basic virus protection. All in a relatively cheap package, with several licenses included makes this an attractive bundle. It is a subscription, so it’s up to the user to decide if they want to commit to this particular brand and for how long. If you expect to get only marginal use out of the extra services, though, you could certainly opt for just the virus software and potentially be happy. I think these utilities are helpful, especially if you a) don’t already have a password manager; b) don’t already have a vpn or work on public networks frequently; or c) want to generally increase your cybersecurity. This product includes the virus scan software, a vpn client, a password manager, and some other features like “safe pay.” It touts ransomware and phishing protection, again, something that one would like to have but are a little difficult to test, admittedly. Whether you need a VPN client may be dependent on your habits and the security of your system. In my opinion, for what it’s worth, anyone who travels or uses public wifi with any frequency (coffee shops, hotels, schools perhaps) would benefit from the option. I recently found something had gotten into my system during a hotel stay, and I will not be so nonchalant in the future. Having this extra layer of security is nice. It’s also nice for work at home jockeys, to help increase cybersecurity of sensitive information and safeguard your clients. A few more specific details: --Installation was very easy. Account creation was simple, and then the download and setup time was minimal for getting basic virus protection on board. From there the user can pick and choose which of the other features to install. So, if you don’t want the extra stuff all at once, you can wait and decide what features are most useful while still getting the key protections you want. I have to say some other software I have is similar, but also seemed more to nag about installation and honestly seems a bit bloated. --Virus scanning works pretty fast, especially the basic quick scan. The question is how well the company keeps up its virus definitions and responds. I have never had a problem with Bitdefender in the past on my various devices, though that does not guarantee future success. It’s hard to know, I admit, if “no news is good news” and that’s where I am as I write this review. --"Safe Pay”: This is basically a secure browser. It keeps an eye on phishing through website that you regularly use, and especially through which you might be making some kind of payment. There is also active phishing monitoring (this I really like so far). The software will keep an eye out for phishing attempts and looks for updates every 12 hours. I’ll be honest that I didn’t use the password manager, as that’s not something I need from this program. In sum, I think this is a solid product that has not caused any problems and stands to prevent many. I will say I like its operation better than some others I have used, but I think it’s pretty standard quality from Bitdefender.

Bitdefender is a good bit of software. The VPN is a little suspect though. Downloading and installing the software is easy enough. Walks you through the install and does what it says it will do. I ran it in virtual machine first to make sure I didn't have any compatibility issues with my setup. The issue I have with the VPN is that it has DNS leaks: ‘DNS leak’ is a security flaw that reveals Domain Name System (DNS) requests to an Internet Service Provider’s (ISP) servers, despite the user’s effort to conceal them through a Virtual Private Network (VPN) service. Bitdefender's VPN service running is as if I didn't have a VPN running at all. I wouldn't rely in it to keep you safe from prying eyes. Everything else about the software is good. I like that it allows you to run it on 10 devices and which most folks probably have at least that many operating in their homes. I have it on my laptops, desktop, workstation, gaming rig, tablets and phone. I have no problem recommending this software to use. Windows defender is basic and I wouldn't trust my computer to just that so running this is a much needed tool to add to a existing PC or one that you are thinking about building of buying. Last note, it isn't a resource hog like some other anti-virus software which will remain nameless, they know who they are!

This is an easy-to-use internet security system. Though it is a lesser known brand in the industry, the app won awards from several very well-known tech sites and magazines. You need to make an account with Bitdefender, download the app and install then use it. It's quite simple. You can use the account to protect up to 10 devices and it covers Windows, MacOS, iOS and Android, which is great because it works across different devices. These days, you don't really need to buy separate internet security system specifically for mobile devices. I use it to protect my gaming PC and will install it in more devices. It works well and feels light enough though I haven’t tested the app extensively by playing graphics demanding games. Bitdefender premium security gives you pretty much standard features of protecting your PC from cyber threat. However, a test made by certain third party in June 2022 shows that Bitdefender performs better, comparing with its competitors, in protecting against infections. It also comes with VPN service and password manager. I really like the PC optimization features in which the app will optimize your PC’s registry and storage capacity; which gives the app a very good value proposition.

Security software is always a tough one to assess in the short term. I have been using Bitdefender Premium Security for about 3 months now and I can say it has been a success. I am running the software on my Mac Studio and MacBook Pro and thus far both machines are still running great. The software has a low resource overhead and hasn't caused any kernel panics or other showstoppers. The manual scan function has been sporadically problematic. I have had it just hang on the scan and never complete. Recent updates seemed to have addressed the issue and I have experienced this far less. The software has most of the quality of life components you would want including safe lists and exclusion zones. If you are on a Mac you can also have it protect Time Machine backups as well. On the VPN side, well, that one is a little easier to qualify. The VPN works well from the perspective of protecting and obfuscating traffic. The downside, for me at least, is the bandwidth is pretty restrictive. I am on symmetrical gigabit fiber and had my throughput drop to a fraction of the speed. This is not something one would want to use if download large files. Works well enough with standard web traffic though. There is also malware and website filtering for the browser. Seems to work, but I never really had any severe issues prior to the install though as I am a relatively savvy user and generally know what to stay away from. Honestly, ones best protection is don't just click every link you see and exercise a little common sense. Overall, Bitdefender has a solid security offering. It is priced right and isn't a 'heavy' product that will bog your Mac down. I can only attest that I haven't had any security compromises so it must work well enough.

Bit defender is a known anti virus software who's been doing it for years now you can trust them and the suite that they offer. This is their top of the line suite which offers you the normal anti virus suite you expect but it also comes with a premium VPN, ransomware protection, password protection as well. You can use it on 10 devices and it's a one year subscription. You can use it on Android , iOS , Mac, and windows of course. That means you can use it on basically your whole familys devices to safeguard your data on the internet and locally on your devices. The UI of this anti virus suite is easy to use and doesn't take much memory or resources on your computer so if you have 8-16GB+ of ram and specs recent with the CPU tou should be fine .the UI is easy to use as well on whichever device you use but it is limited on iOS because of apple fault not bit defender. I use it on my Windows laptop and Android device the anti virus and VPN and it works quite easily . The VPN is unlimited speed and no data caps

This 10-pack of Bitdefender Premium Security offers a lot for the money--the ability to keep 10 devices protected for a year for less than 10 bucks each. The one drawback for me was that unlike some competitors and previous versions, you can't just install it on 10 different devices using one license code--you have a "Bitdefender Central" dashboard to send the links to install the copies and manage things like alerts and scans remotely. While the remote action seems like a good idea to me, I actually had family members decline it since it seemed like an "IT guy" thing where the 10 machines are somewhat under the thumb of one person. There was a little confusion with the "invites"--one machine that was sent the install link didn't want to do the install, instead launched a registration window for a new Bitdefender Central account. The third try was successful though. And the application itself didn't seem to slow down the machines it was installed on either. It finds and shuts down all kinds of threats running on web sites, including lurking phishing scripts buried in ads. I found it to be a useful, easy to manage antivirus overall, and easy to afford.
