Good viewing on a lazy day, or rainy day with snacks

It's a dog eat dog world where no one is safe from treacherous deeds and everyone must depend on themselves. Very eye opening into the realm of pirates, you never know who is a good guy with good intentions or are they all bad with bad intentions...

I would really like to see adventure on the high sea with no black beard she she content. Nudity in passing is fine but should not be the driving force of the program. My wife is offended, this limits my viewing of this show.

Really good story- it is the "prequel" to the Treasure Island story we all read as kids. I had to go back and wiki the original story, but once I did I was able to relate the characters and really enjoyed it.

If you liked Pirates of the Caribbean and the more adult (i.e. nudity and violence) fare of TV you'll probably go for this as well. Didn't measure up to my standards like Treme, Walking Dead, and Homeland.

It was an ok show for first season. If a person is into pirates and watching fighting among the high seas than this is the series to get to watch

Black Sails is a wonderful rendition of the pirate life and times. Great actors and storyline. Only negative is that it gets too gory during the fight scenes.

This show wasn't the as good as some other starz show. It didn't have much action but it did give me something to watch. I hope season 2 will be much better.

Not sure how good this series will be since it seems to have stalled after Episode 1. I'll update once I finish it.

I was a little disappointed in this series first year. Good for the average viewer just not gritty enough for me .

To be fair, I caught a current TV episode. Fortunately it was not filled with giggle camera work. Perhaps someone heard of this active motion and decreased it. Anyhow as before, my review is more about my personal dislike of the cinematography, not the quality of the show in itself. I am sure there are many who can tolerate the jumpy camerawork so enjoy what you can tolerate.

Great start to a new series. The sets and costumes are unbelievable. Great acting and story line!

I had no idea what I was getting into when I purchased this series. I knew that it was a historical show on a channel that I don't have and it was inexpensive, so I decided to get it. I wasn't expecting it to be basically pornographic material. If that is what you are into then I suggest to get it. Otherwise the plot isn't worth it.

This movie wasn't what I was expecting. It didn't have much action and had 8 episodes.
