Original is a lot better but the graphics of this movie is good

The disk works properly and has higher resolution than vhs

If you liked the original 1982 Ridley Scott film, you will like the sequel. Good storyline. Great graphics and HD cinematography. If you ever wanted to find out what happened to Harrison Ford's character after the original, then this one is a must. The only downside was the movie moved a little slow and ran nearly 3 hours. Otherwise a good buy.

Not the Blade Runner of past, still a good movie. Another?

IT WAS AN OK MOVIE NOTHING LIKE THE OTHERS BUT ENJOYABLE

Like the Original Blade Runner, 2049 requires multiple viewings to really appreciate it, at least for me it did. This is not your run of the mill sci-fi film where you leave your brain at the door... which is why I loved it. Even if you're paying full attention, you'll need to watch it a second time. Harrison Ford retruns to reprise his role as the original Blade Runner and his talents are not wasted, although I would have loved if he was given even more screen time. The Blu-ray itself is top-notch and the included Special Features are worthwhile viewing. Looking forward to a Extended Director's Cut if there ever is one.

The film was better than I had been expecting. The filmmakers really attempted to make a good follow up to the original (and succeeded overall). The 4K bluray presentation was one of the best I've seen. Most films (especially ones with special effects) are assembled as a 2K DI and the 4K presentations are really 2K upconverted to 4K. This film was done in 3.5K (including the special effects) and the additional sharpness was clearly visible on screen. The HDR was impressive as well. Expect the pacing to be on the slower side, like the original, and in keeping with it. The world they've created is believably farther down the timeline too. If you are a fan of the original, and you have a 4K HDR setup to view it on, I highly recommend the 4K bluray of Blade Runner 2049.

When it arrived I almost panicked because the blu ray packaging only mentions the 4K blu ray but it also comes with a normal blu ray AND a digital copy. As of June 2021. Thought this might be helpful. Also the movie is fantastic — tbe cinematography and set design are worth getting it in 4K for sure. The pace might be slow for some but if you meet the film on its level, it’s easily one of the best sci fi movies in years, and honestly better than the original IMO.

Real good follow up to the original sci-if classic

I'd give it 10 stars if I could. It's funny to see so many people with such bad taste in cinema. I think they were expecting something like a John Woo film or a Bay action/explosion movie with a Top 40 sound track; John singleton referred these types as "Popcorn Movies" (movies for people that don't like to think). This is a movie that requires emotional and intellectual participation.. This is the real deal. Movies aren't made like this anymore. If you are a fan of CLASSIC cinema than this movie is it. Its not a fast paced, hollow action sequence film for movie zombies with no attention span.

Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049 truly and profoundly surprised me. I had no doubt I would enjoy the film – Villeneuve is one of the strongest filmmakers working today – but I did not expect to find the picture as involving and engaging as I did. I greatly admire and respect Ridley Scott’s original Blade Runner (1982), but I wouldn’t count it among my all-time favorite films. Blade Runner 2049 exhilaratingly expands on the ideas in Scott’s film, and, in an opinion that may count as heresy in some circles, I found Villeneuve’s film to be an even deeper and more complex movie than the original.

I hated the original so I avoided this for years. Bit the bullett and rewatched the snooze fest of the original after almost 20 years. Then got to watch this and my god the audio is crazy (if your system is good). Ana de Armas is a total hottie. Ryan Gosling always delivers. This felt more similiar to Dune (same director) than the original Blade Runner. Can't wait to watch again.

Blade Runner is considered a sci fi classic today but was a flop during it's 1982 release.Over the years there have been several different cuts released.So the idea of doing a sequel seemed like a unlikely thing to me.But they did one and it was amazing.Blade Runner 2049 is actually better than the original.Harrison Ford is back but the focus on Ryan Gosling new Blade Runner.The film has a strong story and performances.It's a shame that like the first movie that the film wasn't a big hit at the theaters.The blu ray and steelbook are nice although I would of loved a digibook for this.
