Ok, I'll put it out there... I have never understood the hype about the original Bladerunner... and I've really tried to like it, but it doesn't do it for me and not for the lack of the actors. I was leery about this one since I wasn't a fan of the first, but I actually did enjoy this one. You truly feel like an observer and even though it says it's able to be enjoyed as a standalone movie, it does help a little to push your way through the first either before or after watching this one. Anyway, I own the first one reluctantly, but bought this one gladly.

It took me a while to appreciate the original Blade Runner. I watch it when I was younger and while the visuals were great I got bored with the story. I think I was expecting an action movie and Blade Runner was not an all out action movie. It wasn't until I was older that I fell in love with it. Going into the sequel I was much more prepared and I'm glad to say I enjoyed this almost as much. I will always have a soft spot for the original since it taught me to give something another chance. I don't think you will be disappointed with the sequel if you like the first.

I thought this was a good looking movie from a production standpoint. However I just don't think it carried the weight or gravitas of the original Blade Runner. I'd give it a 3.5 due to the look of the flick rather than just 3 stars.

Really enjoyed this film as a sequel especially the "eye-candy" aspect but there are some issues I have that calling git fantastic. SPOILER ALERTS: Quite misogynistic view of the future unless the director is saying that we'll always be locked in "women as objects", the act that K goes to Rick Decker's "hideout" when he pretty much knows they can track him as well as saying that he drowned in the car & assuming that the police wouldn't look for hm forever tl they found his actual body, leading the police too his daughter (?!), continuity issues where K leaves the devic that gives him access to his "girlfriend" & then he has it later, plus, still using wiper blades in cars in 2049 (?!). otherwise Great!

Blade Runner 2049 is a beutifully made film, only made better by 4K. There movie should be referred to when askimg what can 4K do. There is no other way to watch this movie. Be warned, this movie is not for everyone. It's nearly 3 hour run time and it's slow pacing may deter some from watching it. This is, however, one of the best movies of 2017, and you would do yourself a diservice to miss it. You should watch the original as well.

This is a very good film, although for some it might seem too long with the themes it tries to portray, the philsophical issues it tries to convey and the tieing of one story with another. Is it a direct sequel to the first movie, maybe not. There are certainly references, what with visual cues as well as actors from the previous movie showing up. But in a way, this movie stands on its own as a relateable but separate story from the universe of Blade Runner. Ryan Gosling plays his part well in eventually trying to find out who he is. Recommended.

I really really liked this movie. I liked that they really took time building and defining the universe that it takes place in. The storytelling is really great. There a little details like what sort of material something is made out of which tells you a lot about their society. If you like the other one, you should like this one. The pacing is a little slow but, you've watched BladeRunner before, you should be used to that. You may have questions after watching it. Not story or plot questions but existential questions.

Great Sequel to a Great Sci-fi Film.

The original Blade Runner was a cinematic masterpiece of Science Fiction that helped to shape the presentation of Sci-fi in modern movies. Blade Runner 2049 carries on that legacy and introduces us to a slew of new characters and a great story. Ryan Gosling gives an amazing performance as the new protagonist in the story. Although Harrison Ford does not have as prominent of a role in this new movie, his time on screen is still very memorable. If you were a fan of the original Blade Runner this movie is definitely worth checking out.

Blade Runner 2049 is a visual feast with a solid and complex story. Many may say a sequel was not needed but it holds up and then some. It does fell like a slightly different world but the world changes after forty years. Being over 2 & 1/2 hours it flows nicely and leaves you satisfied. Acting, cinematography, production design & sound are all top notch. Comes with some great bonus features when the movie alone is worth the price. I think it tops the original in a lot of ways but they're both amazing.

    A Modern Sci-Fi Classic

Blade Runner 2049 is almost a perfect masterpiece. There are some elements that don't come together as satisfyingly as possible near the end. The acting, mystery plot, special effects, and especially the cinematography are all on point. It's an intentionally slow burn in spots meant for pondering and reflection. If you have even a little bit of patience, this just adds to the mystery of what's human and not, and what it means to be human.

Saw this movie at 10.30 am on opening day I confess to be a Ridley Scott geek was a little mixed on the director choice of Denis Villeneuve however after watching his direction of Arrival squelched any doubt that I had. This movie is pure sci-fi very well cast very well directed awesome sound track good pace for a long film (162 minutes) great attention to detail, strongly recommend you see the original first for context and the evolution of the story enjoy its awesome with no stopping to explain what’s happening

I enjoyed this film in 3D. The added depth effects, snow, and a few outward extensions from the TV screen in 3D add to the film's enjoyment. The film was well-acted (especially Ryan Gosling) by even the newcomers. Story-line was okay and kept my interest- especially wondering if K (Ryan Gosling) was Deckard's (Harrison Ford) son. The film can be enjoyed as a stand-alone; however, I believe that it has added meaning (and perhaps enjoyment) to those viewers who are familiar with the original Blade Runner film.

First off, this movie was one of my favorite films of 2017 and a great continuation of the Blade Runner story. I understand it is long, but for me, it didn't feel 2 hours and 45 minutes. With that out of the way, the 4k treatment of Roger Deakins cinematography was incredible. Combine this with the surround sound track and it is a showpiece for any 4k home theater system. If you want to see and show off what your 4k HDR tv and/or your complete home theater setup can do, buy this.

I don't know if it was because I didn't see the original or what, but it made me want to fall asleep. It just seemed slow and boring. Maybe I'll have to give it a second chance after watching the first one.

The visuals in this movie are amazzzing. I actually like this more then the first one which is something crazy to say. Ryan gosling is incredible in this film. The setting of the cyberpunk and story/message is something I have always liked. All about what makes us human and does too much technology make us less human? Probably one of my favorite movies of all time. Recommended to everyone

I really enjoyed this film, regardless of what critics might have thought. It "feels" like the original film; it perfectly recaptures the feel of the original, both visually and musically. The cinematography (Oscar for Best Cinematography) is a work of art. Other than the improved CGI you would never know decades had passed. I've seldom been so impressed by a sequel

Wanted to watch this in the theater but life got in the way. It's one of those warner bros releases that debut at $25 and aren't at the redbox for another few weeks after release. This I admit I kinda forgot about watching it. Finally when it debuted on hbo I got my chance. Very entertaining. Have the first blade runner so when this went on sale at Best Buy I pulled the trigger to add to my collection. A worth sequel even though it took over 30 years from the original to get made!
