This was a great sequel to the original Blade Runner film. The movie is definitely a slow burn and takes its time to tell the story. The visuals and special effects are absolutely mind-blowing. The 4K visual experience is definitely worth it - definitely a demo worth disc for the video (HDR) and audio (Dolby Atmos) experience. If your getting into 4k blu rays, definitely recommend picking up this movie.

to me, I thought it was better than the original. I've tried and tried with the original but I found myself bored and falling asleep at parts. With 2049 my eyes were glued to the screen. Can thank Roger Deakins for that. The Cinematography was top notch. The story kept me interested. You'll hear it is slow pacing and slow pacing like the original and it is. But somehow I enjoyed this a lot more.

I enjoyed the original film but was never it's biggest fan. I loved the themes and the settings, but there were too many story issues for me to fully enjoy it. This sequel maintains (and sometimes exceeds) the deep dive into the themes and settings compared to the original movie. But again, story and character fall a bit flat for me (but better than original). I imagine that if you loved original, you will love sequel. But, this film probably won't change your mind if you were on the fence before.

I've been a huge fan of the original Blade Runner since I first saw it at the age of 13 back in 1993. I was horrified when I found out that this sequel was being made, so certain was I that it would bring ruin to the good name of the 1983 classic. How wrong I was! 2049 is an astounding movie in its own right, and a worthy successor to Ridley Scott's classic. HIGHLY recommended!

Some complain about it's length, while others question why there needed to be a sequel to the original, but I'm here to say that BR 2049 is a near perfect follow up to a film that I believe would have been near impossible to add to. The atmosphere, world building, acting and plot are top notch. It also feels tailor made for this incredible 4K release. Must buy if you're a fan of the film.

This 30-years-in-the-making sequel honors the original classic in spirit, tone and ground-breaking visual effects. Yet it also manages to be its own film, taking the idea of replicants to new levels. Harrison Ford delivers a fantastic return performance as Rick Deckard, and Ryan Gosling is the little replicant who could. If you're a fan of the original film, don't miss this soon-to-be classic.

This is my favorite movie in 2017. I’m a huge Blade Runner fan and this movie is a masterpiece. The music and cinematography are absolute genius. I think this movie is the perfect sequel because it can stand on its own and newcomers can watch this and have their mind blown without having any real knowledge of the original movie. I can’t say enough good things about this movie.

It was a good movie and the story line was very interesting. The action was great. I really enjoyed the set design and visuals. It was a good continuation of the first version but I quite frankly liked the original better. I thought the character development was not quite as good as the original. The first movie really captured the essence of Philp K. Dick's book. This movie seemed to be a bit lacking in that sense.

This film is top-notch in just about every way. Not necessarily a wide appeal type movie, which might partly be why it didn't do so great at the box office when it came out a couple years ago. Stellar storytelling, great performances from the cast, and quite possibly the most visually stunning movie I've ever seen. It runs about 15-20 mins longer than it perhaps should, but regardless it's pretty much amazing.

This is probably my favorite movie from the year it came out (2017). It's a great follow-up that exceeded my expectations, considering the original came out 35 years earlier! The movie looks great on 4k, the cinematography and SFX are the pinnacle of Hollywood achievements. Also includes some solid bonus material and a digital copy.

In the theater, this was great. The visuals, sound design, and score were beyond impressive, but the expansive plot and gratuitous action distrcted me a lot, and tempered my excitement. Upon rewatching at home, I am noticing subtle greatness in the performances, and am really basking in just how visually informative this is. It is “show, don’t tell” at the highest level.

I am a life long Blade Runner fan. The original is still to this day a masterpiece and holds up. This sequel as a worthy predecessor. Completely feels that it's in the same world, visually and audibly stunning. The story is also well written and completely makes sense and is believable. If you're a fan of the original and of Harrison Ford, this film is DEFINITELY worth the watch.

I wasn't a huge fan of the original Blade Runner, it just didn't quite do it for me. I wasn't expecting much out of this movie, but I love the director and the casting looked good. I was very pleasantly surprised, this was a fantastic movie overall. Additionally, the 4k Blu Ray looks stellar on my OLED. Highly recommend as both a great movie and reference quality Blu Ray disc.

2049 is one of those amazing moveies that you’ll either love it or hate it... and let’s just say i love it. The story is actually really good. The cinematography is beautiful and the music is powerful and amazing. If you haven’t seen the original, you don’t exactly have to in order to watch this one. I recommend doing it but not fully necessary. This one a day one pick up for me.

I am a big fan of the original Blade Runner and all its theatrical/director's/etc. cut presentations. I thought this movie did a good job with carrying over the overall mood of the original. All the actors appear to be invested in the story and it's always good to see Harrison Ford in a role he cares about. There are some callbacks to the original so it definitely helps if you've seen it. Great A/V presentation!

This is the follow-up story to the ground breaking original Blade Runner. You get both the 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray versions of the film. They play extremely well visually and the audio is frightening if you have a decent subwoofer!

By 2049, the world is desolate but civilization, what is left of it, seems to hang-on. Interpersonal relationships are at best tenuous if not impossible. The desire for affection is at best muted if not forgotten. The saga is long, it is convoluted, it is, however, entertaining. It’s ending answers the sought-after questions but what of the future? Without of doubt this film needs to be seen at least a second time to fully understand the truth it is telling.

What can I say, I'm a fan of the original from 1982, it was totally ahead of its time and is my favorite movie over everything else. But look, now we have a sort of sequel that does do justice to the bladerunner world and is worth watching. I must admit, that if you've never seen the first one, this movie can stand on its own, which is great. Do yourself a favor, just buy it.

Blade Runner 2049 was an excellent film with incredible visuals and a very interesting story. Whether you are new to the series or a fan of the original I think everyone can enjoy this film. The film does reference the original so knowing some of that information and some of those characters is beneficial but its not a requirement as the film works very well on its own.

The movie hands down gets five stars for pulling off the amazing: providing a worthwhile sequel to a classic. Unfortunately, the special features are lacking which is why I only marked 4 stars. It is worth it to have for the 3 short films that bridge the long gap between films. Sure the movie is slow and long, but so was the 1st film so it takes a certain kind of movie watching individual to appreciate a great, thought provoking narrative...and this film delivers!
