I had to return this movie because the case was damaged. Now, the title is completely unavailable. I loved the movie and I can not wait to see it in 4K. I will not change my review until BB gets this back so I can buy it again.

One of the best looking and sounding 4k movies

I own the DVD version also and since I didn’t like the movie as much as let’s say eXistenZ, it took me a while to decide if I should give it another try. So I purchased it mostly to see if all reviews about its amazing 4K picture quality are indeed worth upgrading and paying the outrageous price for a 4K movie. I am impressed. The 4K version feels like watching the same movie for the first time. (I have LG C8 OLED.)

Ridley Scott and Harrison Ford's Sci-Fi Great

Explore the future of 2019, where Rick Deckard (Ford) is tasked with hunting down some escaped replicants, robots with almost 100% human features. A sci-fi classic, in director Ridley Scott's true vision.

    An absolute classic!

This film is an absolute classic that every science fiction buff owes it to him or herself to own. After 25 years, Ridley Scott's masterpiece continues to entertain, fascinate and amaze. Many films this old, or even younger, look dated. Not Blade Runner. Adapted from the novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep," by Philip K. Dick, the story has the character and feel of a mid 20th century detective novel or the classic film noir of that period, but is set in a future Los Angeles at a time when humans have conquered space, acid rain is a persistent fact of life, and animals are extinct. The technology that has enabled man to create realistic artificial animals has also brought about the creation of android humans, called "replicants" who have timed lifespans and are under human control. They also possess superior attributes as far as strength and intelligence and are forbidden to be on Earth. The film's protagonist, Decker, is a "blade runner" a human hired to terminate replicants who are on Earth illegally. This is the story of his attempt to terminate a group of four, highly dangerous replicants in the city of Los Angeles. The film is part mystery, part thriller, part love story and contains more than a few surprises.

    Blade Runner 4K - Yes it's worth the re-buy!

Blade Runner is one of my favorite films and it's influence on movies is profound. I think I've owned every version at one point or another (from the Criterion laserdisc, to dvd, to multiple versions on blu-ray, maybe even a VHS copy at one point). The pervious Final Cut blu-ray was very impressive and a jump in quality, plus great extras over the older Blu-ray versions. I've been hesitant in re-buying movies(even my favorites) in the 4K format unless there's a significant improvement in picture quality, and worth the re-puchase price. Having read really good reviews online, I can say without any hesitation, buying this is worth the price. For around $20, this 4K version has an impressive uptick in sharpness, detail level, and color. It is like watching this movie again for the first time. I'm noticing details, especially in the open street scenes, I've never seen before. Colors appear more intense - and my TV doesn't have the benefit of HDR (got mine from BB just as HDR was coming out and could afford the extra $500 at the time), which is another reason I hesitate on many of the 4K re-purchases. So if yours does, you're in for a real treat. This isn't going to look like Guardians 2 or The Revenant, but if the studios took this much care on their older movie titles, I'd find myself re-buying a lot more movies. Don't think about it, grab Blade Runner in 4K and enjoy a really great movie, that looks the best it ever has!

What this movie lacks in video production it makes up with the audio. Anyone expecting a flawless 4K transfer should stick to Blu Ray version.

    excellent 4k UHD/HDR/WCG from 4k DI

Never forget that BLADE RUNNER was not an instant success. It took time for it to gather its cult following and eventually earn its well deserved status as a modern classic SciFi. (Words of wisdom to all of the BR2049 haters out there. Time is on BR2049's side.) I own every release of BLADE RUNNER, from VHS, to DVD, to BR; from studio mandated voice-over/butchered edit, to Ridley's final "Final Cut" and everything in between. Soundtracks, too. Thankfully, WB commissioned a new 4k Digital Intermediate Master, for the theatrical re-release and this very fine 4k UHD/HDR/WCG disc set. This is true 4kDI-TO-4kUHD. Eye popping, demo worthy on reference 4k equipment in every way. Added bonus, this title (and BR2049) is included in the recently inaugurated BB/WB sale, 3 4k-s for US$50. What's not to like about that? Bundled Digital Copy redeems as 4k UHD with UltraViolet and MoviesAnywhere. Makes for one heckofa 4k home theater double feature with BR2049. Recommended??? !!!

Film still has an impact 25 years later AFTER 2007

I was first in the door opening day when it opened June 1982. Film SHOULD have done better at the box office. Still visually stunning. Film had faults & even in this “final edition” it still does. The voice over, a lot has been said about it. Harrison did should bored when he did it. When you see the film now without it you can truly say it was never needed. The unnecessary Joanna Cassidy topless scene, never liked that. VERY disappointed in editing now a days the film makers could NOT correct the problem with the stunt double with the BLACK wig in for Joanna with RED hair as Zhora is put into retirement. Good to see interviews with most of the remaining cast. It claims to be the “final cut”. Yeah, we will wait & see on that. And, the DVD package of course did NOT get a chapter search list.

    Looks Amazing

I'm not going to review the movie, as that has been done a thousand times. This is a spectacular movie - a true classic - and features two of the greats Ford and Hauer. I just bought this disc, the Final Cut version. I also just purchased a Samsung 5.1 Surround Theatre system. The two together make this movie look and sound as if it was just produced yesterday. The quality of the transfer is beautiful and on my HDTV with the Samsung up-convert ability, and clean transfer, this movie looks as though it was originally shot in HD, a technology that wasn't even invented yet. I don't know how much is due to the tv, the upconvert, and the disc itself, but altogether, it's beautiful. Sharp, clear, spectacular. Worth every penny.
