You'll have to learn to turn down the mic level in the audio device section of your OS or you will pickup all the sounds around you.

It needed a filter to clean up some of the popping sound (see other technical reviews) and that made it a good quality recording without any extra work.

Blue mics have always produced a superior sound, most of which run phantom power, but this mic is great for the recorder on the move! Great set up out the box, and it has a headphone jack right on the mic! This was a great buy!

Great Microphone for Beginners and Advanced Users

It simply connects to your PC via USB, it has adjustable gain and directional pick-up. Great for narrations, interviews, reviews, etc. My only complaint, is I wish there was an off button, instead of having to disconnect it from the USB port. If I could, I would give this 4.5 stars instead of 4. I would highly recommend getting the shock mount by the same company because this microphone is so sensitive (which is a good thing), that it picks up even the slightest noises.
