    Great Mic

This microphone seems very well made. It has a good bit of weight to it and is constructed of metal and plastic with an attractive black paint job. It is marketed toward those who make podcasts and post videos on the internet, particularly video game streaming. While that is how it is marketed, it can certainly handle any sort of use you might have for a microphone. I had zero issues getting it set up. I plugged the USB cord into my computer and after just seconds it was ready to use. I read somewhere that you might have to fiddle with some settings to get it to work with Audacity, but I had no issues whatsoever. The microphone features 4 different modes, accessible by the push of a button as well as a button to mute it. There is also a headphone jack on the bottom of the mic that is controlled by the power knob. The mic also appears to have the ability to be screwed to a mic stand. According to the included paperwork, there is a program you can download that will allow you to customize your microphone, in particular the LED lights. I have yet to explore those features. I am no microphone aficionado, but i am pretty impressed with this one. I will be using it primarily for music and I believe it will serve me well for a long time.

Normally I don't beat up on products from anyone. And I am not being rude with my review but just being honest here. I had high hopes about the blue yeti x professional microphone, I really wanted to like it. First off the headphone jack for monitoring with headphones was broke and worked intermittently. I figured I could still use the microphone without the headphones. Then the microphone developed a very loud ( I mean loud ) hum in it as if there were a sort in it. Now, for me to hear it in a recording it has to be very loud because I am deaf in one ear and have questionable hearing in the other, and I could hear it. I am 70 years old and have had experience with other microphones. I am now using my Samson Meteor microphone I had before getting the Yeti x. The Meteor mic is working great, I wished I could say the same about the over priced Blue Yeti x that lasted about 19 days. I will be returning it for exchange, thank goodness I bought the replacement plan otherwise I would be stuck with a boat anchor as a microphone.

Works ok but don’t expect Blue Voice if on a Mac. And this is not just inexperience with the mic. I contacted Blue directly and they gave a poor direct to the point, “ Unfortunately at this time we do not have a fix for this” response. That’s it. No ETA no We are working on it, no nothing. Just that there is no fix. So besides the sub par customer support, expect only partial Mac support which they failed to mention.

Hi LD10, Very sorry to hear about the issue you're having with Blue VO!CE not working on your Mac. If you're using Mac OS 11 and have the a newer Mac with the M1 chip, developers often don't support new OS for awhile and it does take some time. Blue VO!CE is still supported and working on earlier OS' as evidenced by my own personal experience. Here's a link to a screenshot: Hi Dylan, Just following up regarding your question a year ago about the G213 Prodigy Gaming Keyboard and it working on your Xbox One to use playing Fortnite. Here's an article printed on New Year's Day that ranks the G213 amongst the best keyboards for Xbox: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/695025776013082674/796843516235087973/Screen_Shot_2021-01-07_at_2.49.28_PM.png. I haven't updated my OS precisely because of what you're experiencing right now. Hope that you found this helpful and that all is going well. Best Regards, Richard from Logitech

I bought this open box, and it totally did not work with my laptop. The software was hard to download, and the mic would not get recognized with my computer. I took it to best buy for help - they couldn't help me. So I returned it. Honestly, the Blue Yeti is good enough as is - I don't think this mic is worth splurging on when you can get the Yeti - which is just as good and cheaper.

Hello Jorge. Thank you for taking the time to write your review of the Yeti X microphone. I'm sorry to hear that its out of your price range. It really is a great microphone, as it is the one on my desk right now that I'm using. The Blue VO!CE integration with GHub really sets it apart for me. The Yeti Nano also now uses Blue VO!CE, and that is a great microphone in the $100 range.

Very nice microphone I think the only issues I have with it are the fact that when you are switching from program to program it sometimes will reset your microphone to something else and I think it has to do with a Logitech app itself otherwise the mic is great

The software for it seems advanced but is very limited. Ran through two and the motherboard broke in both in less than a year. Picks up lots of background noise even on lowest gain and using pop filters could be decent for someone just starting out doing podcasts and streaming. But upgrade to shure sm7b if you can fit it in the budget.

great mic but picks up a lot

ok so I have been wanting a blue yeti mic for a while now. especially since streaming. I had a nice mic that I enjoy (avermedia am310). its 70$. this blue yeti mic is 170$. its a bit better in my opinion and has better software for it. the avermedia mic does not have software for it. that said, I will state the cons and pros that I feel. and I will leave a link to a video I did that just is me talking thru the 2 mics so you can hear how it sounds. first let me start with a few things that I did not like. some of the negatives I say can go for most mics. first one being that the stand it comes with is not a noise isolation stand. it comes with a desk stand and if you tap on your desk it will vibrate thru to the mic. second thing, well out of the box, it picks up everything. no matter the setting. third, on a similar note, it has a larger diameter screw type to go onto a arm boom. with the stand it comes with, it screws in on the sides. with the larger boom arm screw type on bottom, they do not provide a adaptor. my boom arm piece is smaller. luckily I think either my avermedia or boom arm had an adaptor that fit. a forth thing for me is its a new mic, so why micro usb? why not a usb c type on the mic so you can easily plug it in. lastly for now, there is a button on the back to change how the mic works. this button changes the mic so that you can talk from both front and back, all around (360) etc. its easy to press, so you might hit it if moving the mic around. I think they should have made so that you had to press and hold it for a second, or press twice or something. ok so those are the few things that made we drop it to a 4 start. but now for why I still love this mic. first reason I love the mic is that it has software and it was already installed as I have other Logitech stuff. so it uses the g hub. you have a lot of customizations you can do thru the software alone. this is not including other software you can also use. I plugged it into my stream computer and started up my stream and under my avermedia mic, I selected to use my blue yeti mic and it kept my settings that I did for avermedia. why is this good, because I had it set up to not pick up my fan, as well as minimize background noise. so it saved me a lot of work in having to re do all of that. the software lets you do this as well, you can also change custom settings with pre set settings like a broadcasting settings, radio settings etc. all of the lights are rgb so you can customize all of the lights. so that is a nice touch as well. it sounds great and high quality. you can select different modes to use so if you are a caster and have guest, you can select a mode that does a front and back mode. if you do asmr stuff, it has a mode that does a full 360 sound effect. the front button functions as a few things. it lets you see when you talk and you can make adjustments if your to loud, or can even turn it down if you have background noises that are not as loud but still picking up. you can also press the button to mute, and to change volume as you can plug in a headset to the mic as well. I use it on my second pc to stream so I like having a mute button and it turn red indicating its muted. this does that. so if I want to talk to friends on teamspeak or discord for instance and not to my stream, I can mute and then talk. overall you have a lot more you can do with this mic. a bit better sound, feels durable. is it worth 100 dollars more then other mics. well it depends on what you want. I thinks its worth the price. you get what you pay for. out of the box, it will pick up a lot of things, and if using the stand that it comes already put together on, it will pick up hitting your desk. you will have to make adjustments. but this is something that most mics even my avermedia mic did as well. below you can hear (my voice) talk thru both mics. I also have a video that I did a unboxing on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jZVIb1BgfU&t=1s

A mic with a world of recording possibilities

The Yeti USB Mics have been dominating the professional gaming and video streaming sector for years and each model has been able to incorporate additional technology in the form of sound condensers that allow the voice being recorded during the streaming with an amazing quality level that, once you tested, there is not way back to the less elaborate models. But if you think that this could not be for you because you are not planning to be a youtuber, perhaps some of the possibilities for your work from home and video conferencing with the office day should be also considered, notably because the radio retro aesthetic of the mic is great. I love everything about the Yeti, how simple is to install because there is no need to download drivers, the mic is automatically recognized by Windows 10 and can be used in all your apps that could require a mic. The mic, includes by default four sound patterns: Cardioid Mode, Stereo Mode, Omnidirectional Mode and Bidirectional Mode that serve to selectively activate the condensers and determine how the sound and the environment is captured and recorded/delivered. The patterns can be selected by a single click in the button behind the mic and are great when, for example you want to integrate a second voice during your recording by switching from the cardioid mode to the bidirectional mode. Basically all is about power and possibilities because, Yeti empowers you in the mode of how you are going to deliver your own voice to the listener. Because it comes equipped with a 3.5-millimeter headphone jack, you can listen what you're recording in real-time without latency delays and the control available on the front of the microphone with the led metering, allows you to also visualize your sound. Same control serves also to mute your voice. Finally, when you think that the simple options are over, you just need to download the two apps Logitech G HUB and Blue Sherpa to play and introduce more vocal effects and sounds: overwhelming!. The apps serve also to upgrade the firmware. In this area, I suffered my only disappointment and roadblock, I couldn’t make the Blue Sherpa app work on its own without installing the Logitech app first. Perhaps is somewhere in the manual or instructions but I didn’t see that and it took me a couple of hours of testing to figure it out. I feel like in a professional studio at a very affordable price.
