A really nice room humidifier

I use BlueAir air purifiers throughout my house. I appreciate their efficiency, quiet fans on lower speeds, simple design, and on the WiFi models being able to clear the air before returning home from a trip. This BlueAir InvisibleMist humidifier is another well-designed and executed product.
While useful anywhere you have forced air heating, living in the mountains of Colorado gives you a real appreciation for an excellent humidifier. My relative humidity levels can reach 0% in the winter, so I need reliable humidifiers for comfort and to keep musical instruments and wooden furniture intact. I look for simplicity of filling, quiet operation, evaporative operation, and ease of use. Additional things, like good aesthetics and wireless connectivity, are nice to have as When choosing a humidifier, well. This BlueAir covers all the bases.
The evaporative requirement is not so obvious, so I’ll start there. Humidifiers generally come in two types, evaporative and ultrasonic. The issue with ultrasonic humidifiers is they tend to leave a fine, white powder on everything. As the name implies, this BlueAir is evaporative. Filling is simple. Thanks to an innovative design, the humidifier can be filled either by removing the base or by filing through the top. The fan is quiet on lower speeds, which means you can have normal conversations or even sleep while it runs. Aesthetically, it’s simple and non-intrusive – it looks more like an air purifier than a humidifier. And with Wi-Fi connectivity in addition to the top-mounted controls, it’s easy to use. For nighttime use, I appreciate that the digital control display can be darkened.
A reasonable person would ask why you need Wi-Fi for a humidifier. Well, you don’t need it, but it really is handy for a couple of reasons. It allows you to control the fan speed and humidity level without getting out of your warm bed, and if you’re away and want to boost the humidity level in the room before you return, Wi-Fi connectivity means you can do this before you head home.
Solid build, great features, and a reliable brand. I highly recommend the BlueAir InvisibleMist humidifier.

I needed a new humidifier for my family room. This claims a fair size area coverage, so I figured I'd give it a try. I habe a blueair airfilter, and it works ok, and the wifi setup and app work well, so I figured I'd try this. The size of the water canister is good, but it is definitely a daily filler. The footprint of this can sit on an end table off to the side and it is pretty quite even on the top fan fans speed. Setup was quick and instructions easy to follow (it came with printed ones) the wick is included, and refills are readily available at many online retailers or their website. The wifi and app are laid out well and I can control and monitor stuff from anywhere I'm at. The cost is a bit much for a humifier, many non smart ones of similar aize are half thus, but to have wifi and the app, this is the going rate, really not bad. Replacement wicks are on par with others prices also. I am not a huge fan of the touch screen controls, I like buttons, but they do ok. I'm not sure the humidity montir works correctly either. I reads 10 over where the rest om my other house monitors read it (my thermostat has sensors in my house to tell me) . This would greatly effect the auto run feature, likely leaving your house dryer than you want it. Overall. Nice humidifier, I give it 4 out of 5 stars, deductions so far for the humidity sensor. I've had it going for a week and it seems that I won't be able to use auto set to keep it accurately at a level. Never matches my other house sensors that do match each other. I would still reccomend this to friends and family.

Easy to Use and Fill

This Blueair humidifier is easy to use, with a few unique options. Besides being an evaporative humidifier, the best features are for me are the ability to easily see the water level, and to fill from the top without dissassembling.
There is a Blueair app, and the device was easy to pair with it and connect to my wireless network. I like that the app lets you set the auto mode and then easily select the humidity target. It also has a really cool graph showing the level by day, week or month. You can also control the LED brightness for the app, which is good if you are going to use it in a bedroom. The app also easily lets you see the humidity and indoor temperatures. You can also see the humidity level on the display on the top of the humidifier.
The app also lets you set a timer and shows you the percentage left of the wick filter. As this is an evaporative humidifier, you won’t get any white dust and it can be filled with tap water. From the app you can also order another filter, or sign up for a filter subscription.
Assembly was easy, and this was when I discovered that you can either fill by taking the humidifier apart, or just pouring water down the top. This is so great. The bottom basin is opaque so you can easily see the water level, and refill is just so easy.
If you’ve been annoyed with the white dust from ultrasonic humidifiers, and want a nice looking humidifier, definitely give this one a try.

Quickly improves humidity

This humidifier has a lot going for it. All previous "cool mist"/evaporative humidifiers had a paper-like wick that sat in a shallow pool of water and relied on the capillary action to pull water up into the wick, then the fan would move air through it to get moisture into the air. The problem I've always had with these is, water never made it up the full height of the wick, rendering nearly half of it useless. And before long, the upper area that did get wet would eventually get clogged with minerals from the water (even if I use filtered water), and very soon would become very slow to get humidity in the air.
This takes a different approach by pumping up water from the reservoir and trickling it over the top of the filter, dripping down. Quite clever. The other clever trick is the water resistant fan, and water proof top display. This means you can pour water right in the top. Though... they say to turn the fan off first... probably because it could otherwise make a mess or splash water where it shouldn't be. Alternatively, you can lift off the top, remove the filter, and carry the reservoir bucket to your sink and fill.
The 0.9 bucket empties quickly, and annoyingly leaves a fair amount of water at the bottom once it complains its empty. And, for a wifi-connected humidifier, it seems to miss the most obvious feature: a notification when it's out of water. It does let you change the settings on it, and tracks filter life, humidity levels and so on... but no alert when its out of water. For shame.
It's quite, barely noticeable, and gets the job done better than most humidifiers.

I've never used a humidifier until now and I can't believe I have never tried to use one before. I have had sleeping issues for the life of me and medicine has worked but I don't want to depend on it. Using this has helped my sleep a bit better. This machine also has an app you can control it by on your phone.
This machine has a filter that helps filter out impurities from the water so the mist isn't polluted with minerals or anything. Also has a UV water pump to help make sure there is no bacteria in the water as well which is nice. Don't have to worry about bacteria building up in the water tank. It also is basically one gallon in size so it's pretty big as well. I don't use it every day so I can't say for sure how long it would last with one tank but I do fill it up after each use just to keep it safe. Also very easy to fill up as well. I don't have a dishwasher but they state the tank is dishwasher safe so it's great for those that have a dishwasher and want to clean it that way.

Keeps the room comfortable with some nice features

For me, the bottom line for a room humidifier is that it reliably keeps the room at a comfortable level of humidity. The Blueair InvisibleMist 0.9 gallon Evaporative Premium Smart Top-Fill Humidifier does exactly that, so I am completely satisfied with it. We have recently gone through a very cold weather period where the heat has been on constantly, but this Blueair humidifier has kept up with the challenge admirably.
But there are more good things I want to say about the excellent features of this humidifier. You can choose from three fan speeds. The lowest setting is extremely quiet, the second, fairly quiet, and the third, definitely audible but not unpleasant. You can also put the humidifier on "auto" setting to seek a particular humidity level. There is a "night mode," which is very quiet with the LED lights on the control panel dimmed to any level you want.
The feature I love the most is the Blueair app, which allows you to control all of the humidifier functions through your home wireless network (Bluetooth is required for initial setup but not used afterward). Of course, you can control everything from a panel on top of the humidifier, but I think the app is much more convenient. You can set a timer for the humidifier, check the recorded humidity level for the current day, past week, or past month, and see the current humidity level and temperature. The app also gives you an estimate of the remaining life in the wick filter.
When the water level is running low, a red light appears on the unit. You can refill it either by pouring water directly through the top of the humidifier, or by removing the top and pulling out the bucket that holds the water. Very simple to do.
You should know that the humidity reading displayed on the unit is for the immediate area and not the entire room, which will be lower. We have two separate humidity monitors in our bedroom at a distance from the humidifier, and they show a humidity level about 10% lower than the value displayed on the unit. When I placed one of these monitors on the unit, it showed the same humidity level as the unit.
In conclusion, this humidifier humidifies by bedroom well, possesses a number of great features, and is easy to manage remotely with the phone app.
