GREAT BATTERY LIFE – TIGHT FIT FOR LARGE HEADS REVIEW: BlueParrott B450-XT Wireless Bluetooth Headset Best Buy Tech Insider Network SUMMARY: PROS – - Great Battery Life - Easy Setup - Good Microphone - Good Speaker - Large Buttons for ease of use - Included Alternate Ear Cushion, Charging Cable - Good Noise Cancelling CONS – - Tight fit for larger heads and/or people with Glasses UNBOXING: (see picture) INITIAL IMPRESSIONS: Packaging was good, and everything was well protected. Build quality seems pretty good. Pairing with phone and computer was easy. I don’t really get why they included a Car Charger in the package. I understand that part of the target audience is “field workers” but it seems a waste of money for something that 95% of users will probably never need. I am glad they included a USB-A to USB-C charging cable. The only minor complaint for setup is that there is not a direct QR code to download the app in the manual. When you go to the store and type in BlueParrott it tries to load an App called something like Dail2Do, at first I thought it was a fake app but it was the real app. After I download the App I updated the Firmware which takes about 30 minutes. There is also online a firmware updater App for Windows and MAC. USAGE: My goto “headset” is a noise canceling unit about the size of a stick of gum, that includes ear buds. My only dissatisfaction with my prior unit was a short battery life (about 3 hours). With the BlueParrott B450-XT it claims I can talk all day up to 24 hours of talk time. I’ve only used it for about 10 hours, but so far, so good. The speaker quality is just OK. Not bad, not Great, not for music (of course). The mic pickup seems to be very good. I’ve asked everyone on the other side of call about the Audio Quality and everyone said it was very good. I am working in my basement these days, with the furnace and other loud items. I would estimate this did a good job of blocking out most of those noises for the people on the other end of the call. My only complaint with the unit itself is that it is a really tight fit. Fully extended, for me it is still a little “vice grip like” on my head. Especially when I wear my glasses it was really uncomfortable. I have a larger head, but not giant sized. I wear a 7 ¼ hat. With the default ear pad and my glasses I could not wear this more than 30-45 minutes. When I switched to the foam ear pad this helped a great deal and I can wear it several hours at a time. I still can’t easily take my glasses on and off, but at least it does not “hurt”. I think the speaker is just too large or perhaps if I could expand it more I could wear it lower on my ear so it does not interfere with my wearing glasses. The Voice Commands are nice but probably won’t be used. If you have an incoming call you can say “answer or ignore” or “ask for list of commands” which are pretty much “answer or ignore”. If you don’t say the commands exactly it wont work. I asked “battery status” it did not work. I had to ask “check battery”. Then I get an unhelpful response “battery level high”. What does that mean. Do I have 3 hours of talk time left or 30 hours of talk time left? According to the online datasheet. It seems there is also an “M” variant that plays more nicely with MS Teams. This would have been helpful, and maybe a firmware update with provide the missing “M” features. CONCLUSION: Not a perfect headset for me (I have not found the perfect one yet), but pretty darn good. Hopefully after some more usage it will expand a little to better fit my big head. Though I would have to say my hat size is the max I could recommend. If you wear more than a 7 ¼ hat size, this will hurt your head. Once I switched to the optional foam cover it felt a lot more comfortable. If your main need is huge battery life and secure fit (maybe you move around a lot), then this is a good solution. The speaker and Mic are both perfectly good. Noise reduction works as expected.

Break easily. Not durable but works very well and is easy to setup and use.

My husband was so happy to get this as part as his birthday gift. Ironically, he was about to order this one on another site the night before but didn’t. Intuition is the best. He said this was the first headset that he had years ago and it worked for years until it was unfortunately broken. He went with a different model (650) but same brand and it was not as great quality. The 450 is way better in his opinion and he has been driving trucks for over 12 years. It’s not too tight on his head (large) and it does not interfere with him working in the heat. (Flatbed driver) Battery life and Sound Quality are awesome.

This headset changed my life as a truck driver! I have used it for nearly 2 years and it is still holding up! When I am on calls in my noisy truck, people often ask me if I am off work that day because it sounds like I’m sitting in a quiet house! Pros -excellent call quality -shortcut button for Siri/assistant -programmable shortcut which I use to call my most frequent work related system for my route -amazing battery life -excellent Bluetooth range, no problem walking around my 53’ trailer with my phone in the cab -comfortable to wear Cons -the earpiece pad falls off sometimes. - the non-speaker end of the headset rotates for some reason and is often backwards when I put it on my head

My husband is a truck driver and this will be his second pair that I've bought him. The sound is clear, it's not heavy and doesn't bother or slide when he wears it. The battery life is great, he has used it for 3+ hour long phone calls for work. I highly recommended this headset, he has tried many others that have been more expensive and this one is his go to.

I made this purchase to use for business Zoom/Teams/Google meets calls and they work very well. Long battery life, connected very easy to my Lenovo laptop. When you turn the headphones on they connect within seconds to the PC. I have walked as far away as 60’ into other offices and they stay connected. Good option if you need to be able to hear and have people hear you on video calls.

I absolutely love these headphones… u can hear everything very clear … my wife doesn’t get mad anymore when people are loud in my background !!! They hold a charge well to. Sometimes I forget them in my bag and they’re always ready to go when I need them.

This headset is the best I bought by far!! Noises canceling works as it should people don't hear my truck or the back ground noise of my jack brake when my windows are opened hands free commands and battery life is excellent... charged it once and lasted 8 days... I'm impressed as I'm on the phone for a good 5 hours off and on all day everyday.... buddy got a rand McNally head set and this one is by far better then his and cheaper

This was a BB DotD, great price. So far is working fine, good connectivity, volume & mic. Battery life is good, comfortable to wear.

My boyfriend is a trucker and this was the best headset he has found currently. Great battery life and sound. It cuts out any truck sounds while on the phone as while!

I have been using this brand and model for years. Holds a charge for days when not used. I can accidently leave it on Friday and come in to work Monday and accept calls just fine. Would have to charge by end of the day though, I use this to take several calls during the day sometimes hours and still can use it like that for 2 to 3 days before it needs charging. Very comfortable, very good noise canceling. Can use to listen to music and gps directions through phone as well.

Pros: - good sound quality from the ONE earpiece - connects easily via BT - voice memo capability CONS; - uncomfortable for use for over 30 minutes - not for use for outdoor activities I started out liking this headset because of it's quality build, excellent packaging, ease to set up, connect and get going. The sound quality is very good, taking into account that it has only one earpiece. I don't see how they can call it "sound cancelling" when you still have one ear exposed to the environment. It was after a few hours of continuous use that I started to feel the squeeze of the headband. Because of the design, it has to have some heft to the headband, but that same design makes it unwearable after several minutes. I also tried wearing it outdoors so I could manage calls wirelessly while doing some gardening - that was a mistake, As soonas I started to perspire, the headset would slip off my head. This product is clearly made for someone sitting behind a desk at an office and wanting the freedom of getting up and not being connected to the hone by a wire. The distances were adequate for moving around a standard size office. Overall, I think there are better and less expensive wireless solutions. If you do decide to purchase this headset, make sure you have the option to return it for full price if you are not satisfied with the fell on your head.

Hands Down Best Bluetooth Headset for Construction/Truck Drivers. Comfortable and does a Great Job in Reducing Background Noise. (Wind, noises, even generators get drowned out through mic.) 1 Charge will last 2 full 14 Hr work days and more. Grab with a 2 year warranty for extra protection in case you break it (unlikely) but worth getting for the price. Also works in Rain. No need to go on. Its the best in its class and one your looking for.
