Comfortable and clear
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unboxing was simple. It is well protected during shipping, and easy to get out of the box. I plugged it in to charge while making dinner so by the time I was done, half an hour later, it was already at 98% charged, ready to test. The earpiece is one of the more comfortable ones I've experienced. Usually, my ears end up feeling pressed or sore in spots from different earpieces unless they're large enough to go over the ENTIRE ear so there is no pressure. This one can't do that, but my ear felt comfortable anyway. Setting up for use is nice - so rare that I have a new app for a new device that isn't requiring some account be created. I downloaded the app, paired my headset to my phone (Apple iPhone Pro Max 13 on current IOS) and was up and running in a minute. Something else I liked right out of the gate - the sound check part of the app. Record yourself talking and play it back, to get an idea of the sound levels you have set. For me, the S's were really overly sibilant until I moved the mic further away, then it was not so overpowering. The blue parrot button is programmable, so in the app you can choose between muting and unmuting the microphone, a speed dial, activating a third party app, voice command option (and they include a list of voice commands it will recognize, such as Answer, Ignore, Check Battery, Redial, Call Back, Pair Mode, Cancel.) Right in the bottom of the app is a "Learn more" option that brings up a full instruction manual. I really like that feature. One of the buttons switches between ANC, hear through, and off. The hear through is pretty much what you'd expect if you've used ANC headphones before, just not as obvious here since your other ear is out in the open anyway. But it does give a more balanced sound for the environment. And there's a definite change with ANC on. But the "NC always on" banner on the app never changes regardless of which setting this button is left in, so I assume that noise cancelling can't be turned off in and of itself, and it's strictly how much of the background is allowed through. I see an option to purchase another cup for the other side, to give you earpieces over each ear as well. But I would think if someone was looking for that kind of setup, there would be better options out there. But the whole passthrough option really isn't necessary to my thinking in a product that only comes with the single ear cup. But if you expanded to both ears being covered, then these options would be more useful. With the voice command, there is no number when it reports the battery - strictly the generic "battery level high" options. It does also specify the phone battery level when you do this though. But it says a battery at 71% is battery level high. I guess I have a different definition of "high" for battery levels. The buttons also allow for media transport. Downside is that I DO hear some creaking from the earpiece when it's one, such as if I yawn, or anything else that makes the earpiece move a bit. That can get to be distracting after a while. It makes the most noise when I raise my eyebrows and then lower them which translates to JUST enough movement to make the ear make it creak quite a bit, to the point it's distracting. My voice to others is clear though, and they have no issues understanding what I say. The speaker in the earpiece is clear and does a good job even at lower volume settings. But for the single ear option, this works well.

This Is The Headset You Really Need
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am writing this review for the Blueparrott B650-XT Wireless Headset. After unpacking the headset, the first thing I noticed was just how comfortable it feels on the head. I have a larger than average head size, so I was a bit concerned as to whether it would fit well, and if it would feel comfortable. Fortunately both sides of the headband have slide-out adjustments, so the fit was no issue. But better yet, it actually feels good. There isn’t the “squeezing” like you get with a lot of other headsets. Just the right amount of pressure to stay firmly in place. The earpiece is well padded, yet super soft, and fits on the ear, but not over the ear, and the ANC works well at keeping out unwanted noise. The second thing that caught my attention was how well designed the headset is. It has an ultra-modern appearance with an earpiece design that is quite reminiscent of the stealth fighter…sleek and angled with the “blueparrot” logo embedded in a carbon-fiber like background. The headband is nicely padded on the top of the head, making for a very comfortable fit. On the opposite side of the earpiece is a moveable headpiece that keeps the headset firm and comfortable. There are several buttons located on the earpiece side of the headset including volume, ANC control, power on/off, and even a programmable button that can be programmed via the app. Speaking of the app, the BlueParrot app is actually very useful. It isn’t loaded with “fluff,” and makes setting up the headset super easy. But the icing on the cake for the app is the fact that you can easily access the user manual. Its quite apparent that a lot of thought went into making the app useful. So enough about how it looks, and how great the app is. The real question is how well does the headset perform? Let me tell you about my experience. Now, the B650-XT headset is not designed for listening to music. But the first thing I did was go to my playlist just to see how music would sound. I was really impressed with how clean and clear the headset sounded. No, it wasn’t like listening to high-end headphones, but the sound was quite good. And yes, you can use the controls to switch back and forth between tracks. The volume doesn’t get very loud, even at the highest setting, but again, this is not designed for music. Calls sound great. I don’t know what else to say about that. There is no straining to hear, and the controls are quite simple to navigate once you get familiar with them. You can mute the call, hang up, reject incoming calls…everything you would expect. I love leaving the phone laying on the table or wherever and being able to walk around or work on the computer while on the phone. The ANC keeps out the unwanted noise. Oh yes, the mouthpiece…I LOVE IT. Not only does it move up and down, it also bends in and out so that you can get perfect placement. Everyone I spoke with said I sounded “normal” and not like I was speaking through a headset. If you have ever spoken to a customer service rep who is using a crappy headset, you know what I mean. When it is all said and done, the BlueParrot B650-XT is perfect for work environments. But, it is also perfect for folks at home with a lot of background noise such as kids, pets and television. It fits well on the head and is super comfortable. The ability of the mouthpiece to move almost all the way around allows for use on either ear. And a couple of things I forgot to mention is that you can actually get another earpiece for the other side if you want to keep out the noise completely, and the unit comes with a great little adapter so that you can charge it in your car. I can see where this is going to be one of those pieces of equipment that I will be using daily. If you looking for the perfect work headset, the BlueParrot B650-XT should be at the very top of your list. I will be highly recommending this headset to all my coworkers and friends.

Great for a niche
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This headset is a bit of a conundrum. It offers ANC, but doesn’t offer stereo out of the box. So ANC really isn’t that good when your other ear is exposed. The headset is also a little bit heavy, especially if you look up a lot. It can fall off or at least feel like it’s going to. The sound quality however, is excellent and you really don’t ANC. The listening party can hear me very well and I can hear them with exceptional clarity. The trade-off for bulky build is a huge battery which lasts about three days. There is also voice control to answer or reject phone calls. This headset would be a huge asset to a truck driver as it comes with a 12 V adapter and an open ear design, which doesn’t impede the sound around you plus, you can also enable sound pass through mode. There are three modes: pass through which lets you hear your surroundings better, ANC which is supposed to cancel all the noise around you, but you have another ear so there’s that, then there’s There is a mode to disable all called “off”. I am using this headset as a telephone helpdesk headset and it works well in that situation because I need to hear other people like my team around me. If you have the specialized need for a headset like this, I could see this being a great choice however, if you’re just trying to answer your phone hands-free, there are a lot better options.

The Good and the Bad
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The BlueParrott headset came well packaged and had good, clear instructions on the box. The phone app was easy to follow with a step by step setup and connected to Bluetooth without any issues. The headset itself is fairly comfortable, and the part that goes around the top of the head is adjustable, but I found that it presses slightly into my head. The microphone is flexible and can be positioned easily for maximum comfort and clarity. The most frustrating part of the headset was that it would not stay on my head. If I bent over or moved my head quickly, it would slip off. I don't think I could where them for hours. The navigation buttons on the side of the headset are easy to access. When the press voice command button is pushed, the voice is not very loud. Finding what the actual voice commands were was a little difficult - they are in the app under the "i" information icon when you turn the voice command option on. The call quality was not what I had hoped for, whether listening to a caller or to the "voice". It was somewhat scratchy or tinny. Even the sound test on the app sounded low quality. There we some other minor issues like when you want to check the battery level, it said the headset was "medium" at 90% charged and it also said the phone was at "medium" at 30%. It would be nice to hear the percentage rather then "medium". Overall, I wanted to like this headset. I will still use them but they are definitely not my favorite.

Great noise reduction and range
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using a headset at work that covered both ears for a while and found myself constantly having to take it on and off when people walked up to my desk. When shopping for a new one, this Blueparrott checked all the boxes in terms of features and would give me an ear free to hear what people are saying when they walk up to me. For a truck driver, this would be an awesome headset. The noise reduction is superb and even when our office is loud I’ve asked those on calls if they could hear background noise and all agreed it was next to nothing. It also has pretty awesome range, as I was able to walk from my desk to the bathroom without my phone and still had a call come through - which is a good 200 feet away. I took it down a star because while the buttons immediately on the side of the unit are accessible, there are a smattering of others on the sides that are not easy to use if you were driving. I also really struggled with finding a comfortable adjustment for the side without the ear cup - either my head was getting squeezed or it would just be uncomfortable quickly. This could be a personal thing, but I’d recommend trying one out if you can. I will say that i wouldn’t necessarily recommend this for office users as I’ve learned having that one ear free while you’re leading a call means you can hear all the noise around you and it be very distracting. Definite yes for truck drivers who need to focus on the road, but not so much for me.

Great for Work From Home
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even though work from home is winding down, we still need a quality headset for those occasional times like when you are too sick to be in the office, but not too sick to work My company provided set (corded) wore out, and since the company would not replace them, I stepped up my game I wanted something that is 1) comfortable 2) clear sound 3) cancels out background noise 4) does not isolate me from my home surroundings Checking out the brands, I was not familiar with this one, but it checked all of the boxes, and was affordable Unboxing - simple. Protected but no so that I had to go through layers and risk damaging the product to set it up Connecting - also simple. If you ever paired anything bluetooth, you got this. The instructions are also there if you hit a problem Use - perfect. I have worn these for conference calls lasting all day and they were super comfortable. My ears thanked me. When I had to speak, the other attendees could hear me clearly. I did check in after to confirm with a coworker and they said it was very clear with no background Overall I took a chance with this brand and it has paid off. A month of decent usage and they still look brand new

Great for phone calls, forget it for music.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Blue Parrott B 650-XT is a noise cancelling Bluetooth headset. It is designed for truckers and those who work in noisy environments. It comes with active noise cancellation (ANC) and a hear through function that allows outside sounds to come through the headset. The headset comes with one ear cup/speaker and has a connector for an optional second ear cup/speaker which allows stereo listening. There is an adjustable boom with the microphone on it. There are 6 control buttons: a programmable button; a power/multifunction button; volume up; volume down; track forward and track back. Voice commands are also available as is access to voice assistants. There is a brief quick start guide and an app. The app was quickly installed and it quickly led me through Bluetooth pairing. My first task was to stream music from my Android phone. The sound was not very loud at full phone and headset volume and severely distorted. I found no settings in the app that alleviated the distortion. I found a suggestion that I disconnect the headset and do the Bluetooth pairing again. This did not help at all. I give this a big fat F for listening to music. I am confused about the usefulness of noise cancellation in a headset that only covers one ear. I am also confused about the need for the outside sound function when the uncovered ear is always taking in outside sounds. The headset is supposed to cancel the outside noises coming into the microphone. I haven't had a chance to check this out yet. The main reason I wanted this headphone is that every Summer we use a family members motor home. The motor homes engine can be quite loud making the speaker function of our phones take in the engine noise. I hope the microphones noise reduction function works well. After trying to correct the cause of the distortion while listening to music, I finally made and received phone calls on the headset (which is the primary intended purpose of the headset). All of the voices of callers came in crystal clear and at a reasonable volume. I am told that my voice was clearly transmitted without any excessive background noise. The headset seems to stay connected to Bluetooth at a greater distance than my other Bluetooth devices. I didn't get a chance to see if it really has the claimed 300 foot Bluetooth range or 36 hour talk time. As a phone headset, this works great. I can't wait to see how it does in the noisy RV this coming Summer. I could give this a 5 star rating if it didn't claim to be for music as well as phone calls. I wonder if my music issue has to do with pairing with Android. I have had a number of issues over the years with devices not being fully operational with Android.

Not Great For Us Larger People...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.OK, here's the deal... I gave it a 3 star rating but I will admit, some of that rating is due to my big man-head and ears... That said, this is an honest review based on my personal experience. First off, the item is decent quality from a build perspective. BlueParrott is owned by Jabra and my favorite earbuds are Jabra. I have always had good experience with Jabra, but this particular product was somewhat dissapointing. Trying to pair was a little frusturating. It absolutely would not pair per instruction on the box until I downloaded the app. I have, as a Best Buy Top 50 TIN reviewer, paired countless BT devices over the years. This one was certainly not one of the easiest devices I have paired. OK, once it was paired, the app was so-so at the best. Not a lot of controls from the app but that's ok, I'm not a huge app guy. Putting it on, I think it should be comfortable for most but it was super-tight on my great big head. And the ear-cup did not comfortably cover my ear but instead it "smashed" my ear into my head. It was not a particularly comfprtable fit. End of the day, I gave it to my wife. She's going to use it for playing video games with our US Navy Nuclear Engineer son. It seems to fit her head and ears considerably better than mine. If you are bigger person, these may not be the best. If you are on the average size, I'm sure these may be a decent choice. JMHO!

Not up to par!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not up to the standards I would expect by something backed by the same company that owns Jabra. I have been on the hunt the past month or so to replace my old headset, and I had high hopes when I read up on BlueParrott. Out of the box its a pretty simple experience to connect the headset to a phone or a laptop via bluetooth. But the most important thing for me in any headset is the comfort level, and I just never felt that with this. Within 5 minutes my ears felt hot, and the size of the cup was just awkward on my ears anyways, my ear lobes would either sit oddly half in and half out, or would get folded in. Either ways I was constantly fidgeting with this thing on my calls. And after just a half hour call, would feel the need to air out my ears. Besides this the call quality was fine, but the battery life was again disappointing. I usually am in calls around 4-5 hours of my workday, and that last 5th hour would need in most cases charging the headset. I wish I could explore it more and have more things to say about it, but just 2 days in, the discomfort I felt with this made me abandon it and move back to my old worn out headsets.
