Complicated instructions. Still unable to use.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very unhappy wih TiVo. Wish I could trade in for less complicated recorder. Due to Stay in Place order cannot get help to come in. $200.00 just setting here. Have had recorder in past so know it doesn't have to be this complicated.

Lousy product, waste of money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After three set-up attempts I gave up trying to make this product work. In spite of carefully following the instructions all I ever got was a blank TV screen.

Disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried to upgrade my older tivo to this new one and it was horrible. The software that TiVo uses on these new boxes is a disaster.

Horrible One Pass Performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy set up, great playback, easy streaming and fun features. Unfortunately if the main purpose for buying this is to never miss a favorite show this gets a zero. Horrible One Pass Performance. Records what it wants when it wants no matter what you have programmed it for. Recording is completely random. Sorry I made the investment. If you've had the DirectV dvr this is a major step back in performance. Tivo support is poor. All the great functions are worthless if it doesn't perform its primary function and the support isn't there to help correct the problem.

Perfect for HD antenna users
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife bought me the Vox as a gift and it has been wonderful. We mostly stream but have an HD antenna for local stations. It is a better tuner than our Vizio has built in. It is really nice to record the things we do use it for. Saves us more than it costs in a year to buy just some of the showed we previously only streamed. I’ve not been at all dissatisfied with it to date.

Good, but apps struggle
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Tivo Bolt a little over a year ago, the first thing I noticed was how out of date the Hulu app was, and now some time later the Prime app is the same way. I'll have issues where some titles will not play at all. I've done all sorts of network tests, and even reset the box, and the most that I can determine is that support for this device by the streaming services is on the way out. If you're using for OTA or Cable alone, you're probably okay, even Netflix is kept up to date, but if you're looking to tie in other apps, I'd say be cautious. Maybe look more into a Fire Recast or something along those lines. Recommend, but beware you may lose support for Apps soon.

Love my Tivo Bolt Vox
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I started years back with the Premier which I still have; I purchased the Vox and it works great. I’ve used it with Optimum and Comcast; in both cases both versions of TiVo worked great. What drove me to purchase my first Tivo was and continues to be those ridiculous rental fees from the cable companies; I also own my own modem and router.

Stop using your Cable Box; Cable Card looks better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was using a Cable Card with a Tivo Premiere & a DVDO Edge Video Processor; This looks better ! It kind of makes you wonder how much the 'Cable Box Platform' is actually screwing with the Broadcast Signal actual Bandwidth for the sake of "As much Content (mostly useless) as possible" That I can also Record things (now) worth watching is Icing on the cake

High failure rate
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased not one ,but two of these units and each one was defective. The first unit operated for almost 5 days until it just showed a blank screen upon powering up.I contacted TIVO technical support and they went through the troubleshooting procedures. They confirmed that the first unit was defective.I returned it for a full refund. I thought that I would try another unit. This time the unit stopped working during the initial setup.Again I contacted technical support, and TIVO confirmed that this unit was malfunctioning as well. According to what I have read on the internet, the failures are widespread, some having to do with the inability to turn off the units(they run continuously). Please don’t waste your money on the TIVO Bolt Vox.

Not good anymore
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had a Tivo since model 1 and have always been a big advocate for them. For me the biggest benefit was that it would let me avoid all of the advertising from the TV networks. Tivo still lets you do that, but now they add in extra advertisements that you can't avoid and there's no way to opt out of them.
