This dishwasher was spendy but had always heard good things about Bosch. It washes really well with minimal soap and is quiet. It literally holds about HALF of what we used to get in our old washer. Odd, looks same size outwardly. Wish the interior prongs were taller throughout and that the upper rack had wider spots for big glasses. It will do, but will definitely take a plate and big cup to my next dishwasher shopping experience which could be many years because this one will probably last a long time eing German...

However, the washing leaves a lot to be desired. Plates and bowls - It can leave a food residue on the items. Cutlery - does an acceptable but slightly disappointing job. Layout of the machine - it's okay I guess the basking tines are so tight it is hard for us to get our pots and bowls to fit well in the dishwasher. Drying - Not so great at the end of the cycle everything is very wet and you have to open the machine to let the water evaporate out, however the machine is solidly built and likes to stay shut.

Says open it when it's done to let out steam- I don't have time to babysit this thing! Did it & still wet. Never knew there were dishwashers without heat dry option. Get an American one if you want dry dishes. I hate this one & now i'm stuck with it. :(

Your dishwasher uses a condensation drying process known as PureDry™, which is an energy-efficient, closed drying system that does not pull in outside air or use an exposed heating element. It works by heating the dishes with hot water during the final rinse. The cool stainless steel pulls moisture from the dishes. The inside of the unit will be wet at the end of the cycle, but the dishes should be dry. It's important to note that plastics don’t retain heat as well as other dishware materials and don’t dry as well. However, with no exposed heating element, your plastics are safe in the lower rack. You can find troubleshooting steps to optimize drying on page 37 of your Use & Care manual, which can be downloaded from the Bosch website. Instructions to turn on the Intensive Drying setting are on page 29 of this manual. Decent Machine But a Mechanical Issue
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this dishwasher in July 2015. It has done a great job of cleaning dishes and is very quiet. However, I did have a problem with the dishwasher routinely shutting down in the middle of cycles. This was due to a failure of the door to stay securely latched during the cycle. Once the door opens even slightly, the machine suspends the cycle, and it resumes once the door is securely latched. That problem increased to the point where I was dealing constantly with interrupted cycles. Pushing the door closed again solved the problem, but was inconvenient, especially when starting a wash late at night and finding the machine in the morning with unfinished washing. Fortunately this problem appears to have been solved by a repair under the one-year warranty. A metal brace was added to the top of the machine to help minimize flexing and detachment of the latch during the cycle. In addition, the repair serviceman installed a shim between the counter top and the top of the machine to help ensure the door's proper closure and to prevent unwanted detachment of the latch. This problem, according to my online reviews and discussion with the repairman happens periodically. I do hope the problem is permanently solved.
