    Great Product

    Serviceman hooked it up wrong, screwed the feet to the floor and so we had a terrible time with the latch not working. After 2 service calls from Bosch ( we didn't get the extended warranty because I should not have to pay extra to get a working product...IT IS NOT A LOTTERY TICKET I AM BUYING!) the Bosch serviceman was able to figure out the problem. All the time BEST BUY said we are sorry it is broken but we can't fix it. BEST BUY's should tell you before you buy the product, that it is "AS IS" and good luck! Also we had bought the same dishwasher a year before and when we moved to a new home, we bought the same one. Product is great service isn't

    Dishwasher defective, install problems

    Unfortunately the installer caused a problem with the electric service to my new machine (according to the electrician I had to hire) then once the dishwasher had power and I turned it on a puddle formed at my feet. Now I'm thinking maybe the electrician did something to the hoses. I had to wait for another installation appointment & take time off work again only to find out the dishwasher is defective. I'm being told to call and reorder one since the base in not correctly attached and water just flows on to the floor. Really, try again? Or just throw my hands up and start over somewhere else?

    Best dishwasher I’ve every had. I never new that you actually don’t have to pre rinse dishes before washing. It’s great, you should buy this one.

    High hopes but disappointed!

    After a few months of use I called the company telling them that my dishes were not getting cleaned. The company told me to change dish washing detergent and that it may not be installed correctly. I had best by recheck installation and changed detergent, my dishes still don't get cleaned. I've had good luck with Bosc DW in the past but will not get another one. I'm Hoping this one lasts a few more years and I can sell it with the house.

    Pro - Very quiet Con - Every dishwasher I have purchased has had a drying cycle. This one doesn't. We have to hand dry items when taking them out of the dryer. Also I don't know what the person who designed the racks was thinking. We can not put as many items in the racks due to the design.

    Does not dry

    What a disappointment! The dishwasher does not dry your dishes and leaves water in the dishwasher elements, baskets and bottom. If you don't dry all the inside of the machine the next time you open it there is a terrible rancid smell in the machine. Do yourself a favor and buy another machine with a drying element. BB refused to help!

    After having a dishwasher that lasted 30 years, I would have thought that our new dishwasher would see more than 2 years and a month before having to have the pump replaced, especially with the many positive reviews that this Bosch received. Do yourself a favor and invest in a different dishwasher.

    The worst experience from Bosch ever

    I bought this dishwasher and had it installed in February. It broke on May. I’m still out a dishwasher with no end on site I would NOT purchase a Bosch if you live in the Santa Cruz area - there are no certified Bosch techs in our area because of this the 1 person who comes to Santa Cruz is booked a month out. Bosch is terrible to work with. At this point I wish I could just get my money back.

    Worst dishwasher I have ever owned

    This is the worst dishwasher I have owned in the 50 plus years of owning dishwashers. It doesn't dry the clean dishes on any setting nor does it clean the dishes unless they are thoroughly precleaned. The lower tray goes out of alignment with the very slightest pressure or pull and the silverware basket must either be totally open or totally closed making them unuseable for large mixed loads.

    DOOR LATCH FAILURE

    The first unit lasted 2 days. The replacement unit lasted 9 days..Both units have latch failure causing the unit to open in mid cycle and stopping due to the door coming open. Best Buy has been great so far. However there is a problem with this model.

    Best Buy Has been out 3x to fix

    We ordered this DW for the high marks it had received but we have had Best Buy out 3x to fix it. The door does not stay closed/locked and the cleaning cycle does finish because the door unlocks interrupting the cycle. Working with Best Buy has been easy. A new DW has been ordered upon determining that the unit is not working.

    I had a terrible experience using the Bosch dishwasher. I bought the Bosch dishwater SHEM3AY55N/28 in January 2022. The drain has always been problematic (error code E24). I installed the dishwasher with the drain hose connecting to an air gap, then to the disposal – a standard connection setting. At the beginning the drain cycles may succeed 50% of chances but now down to 10% chance. Recently I called Bosch customer service. The tech came my house and verified the problem. He said Bosch dishwashers always have problems to drain water completely if the hose is connected to an air gap. He suggested to connect to the disposal directly. He said even an expensive model has the same problem since all Bosch dishwasher uses the same pump, which is not powerful enough. The following is his comment on the service report: “Client had error code of e24, when I arrived I found in the unit so I had some water and initially tested the drain cycle ensure enough it was draining very slowly. I did not find an installation issue everything was good including the loop for the drain hose. After tracing down where the congestion was, found that the unit drain fine with disconnected from the air gap even though the air gap had no debris inside, advised client that the drain cycle and pump were not designed for a run that long, he should disconnect from the air gap and go straight into garbage disposal as the unit has no issue pumping water out that way”. So, it is a design issue. How can you have a dishwasher not able to drain through an air gap. No where of the machine’s user manual mentioned it should not be connected to the air gap. I called customer again and try to find a resolution. They do not want to help. The supervisor (Chris) said “it is your installation issue”, shamelessly. I am going to connect the drain hose directly to the disposal and see if it drains properly and if it leads to backflow (since not using air gap). I will keep you updated.

    Misleading "child lock"

    The unit touts a child lock. In my experience, a child lock prevents the child from "getting results" by pushing buttons. On this unit you cannot enable the child lock unless the dishwasher is running (so the kid can turn it on on their own as you cannot lock it when not in use). And even if the unit is on and locked, the on/off button can still be pushed. And when I called the company about this they said, "Well, you bought the economy model." Even the economy model should have the features it advertises.

    Four months and leaking water on floor

    Four months and leaking water on floor and heat control element has gone out. When Bosch repair service was contacted, agent tried to tell me how to use the machine and would not answert my questions concerning leaking water on floor and error code. When I tried to question him further, he said I needed to let him talk. I said all right, go ahead and he hung up on me. Four months is certainly too soon to need repair.

    Defective part cost $200 to fix on $600 machine

    I read that Bosch had a great reputation. Unfortunately, I am disappointed in their service. The warrantee is one year, and a small plastic, inside the machine and not exposed, broke. My $600 machine, now cost an extra $200 dollars to fix + $12 dollars for the part. Bosch will not cover this as it is past 1 year. I expect more than 1 year out of an expensive dishwasher. So I would recommend another brand with better service.

    I ought an open box dishwasher that said it was missing the hose. The hose was there but it is missing a inside filter that is necessary for it to run. I’m having difficulty getting the part and my 15 day return time is nearly up.

    Worst online purchase experience I have ever had. The level of incompetence I experienced with the 1-888-BestBuy team as a whole just astounds me. The product itself is fine...scheduling an appointment for delivery was a nightmare. I highly recommend no one purchase a large appliance online unless you are fine with spending hours on the phone trying to get your product. Beyond disappointed!

    I HATE this machine!

    It has no heating element so dishes are dripping wet, the bottom drawer does not glide in and out easily and the wheels fly off when it goes off track, and the drawers do not hold a load very well. They planned for an endless number of plates and cups but nothing else. I don't know about anyone else, but I use more than dishes and cups! I hate, hate, hate this machine! It's the worst one we've ever owned!
