Customers are saying
Customers love the 100 Series 24" Tall Tub Built-In Dishwasher's quiet operation and excellent cleaning performance, with many praising its ease of use. However, some users express concerns about the dishwasher's capacity and the design of the racks. A few also mention that the controls could be more intuitive and that the cycle times are longer than expected. The price point is frequently cited as a positive aspect of the product.

Not ideal for large family
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It takes two loads to match what we did with one before when we had a Kenmore. We are a family of 6 with 4 kids so that could be the difference. If your situation is similar then STAY AWAY from this compact model. My wife is already asking for the return policy.

Cleans well, but otherwise disappointing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this based on Consumer Reports ratings. It cleans very well, and it's very quiet, but in most other respects it's disappointing. The racks are quite a bit smaller than the 12 year old Kitchen Aid it replaced. The silverware basket is MUCH smaller. That translates into fewer dishes that can be loaded, and the need to run it more frequently. To make matters worse, the arrangement of the angled (rather than straight up and down) tines makes loading large or odd shape items more difficult. In combination, the dishwasher holds considerably less than my old one. And the industrial designer who thought it would be cool to hide all the buttons and indicator lights should be sentenced to using this dishwasher daily for the rest of his life. There's no visible indication when the cycle is done, or where in the cycle it is. You can't stop a cycle without opening the door a bit, which increases the possibility of splashing water on the floor. The Kitchen Aid has a "clean" indicator light that stayed on until you reset it. The clean light on the Bosch goes out a few seconds after you open the door. Not a problem if you live alone, but if multiple people share the same dishes it's not always obvious whether the washer has been run or not. Just really poor design. If you want a Bosch, it's probably worth spending a little more to get one with an external display. Better yet, choose a brand that holds more dishes.

Best dishwasher we've ever had
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is our 3rd dishwasher since 1999. The one that came with the house was a GE profile, which had numerous problems but mostly control panel breakdowns. The replacement was a Maytag, which was noisy and experienced hardware breakdowns quickly. This Bosch Ascenta is amazingly quiet and performs great. The only knock is that its smaller racks don't accommodate pots and pans as well.

High Quality, Great Value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Consumer Reports first drew my attention to this dishwasher as the least expensive of its recommended models. It looks great, is whisper quiet, uses very little water, and cleans incredibly well, even using just one tablespoon of powdered detergent (in hard-water Los Angeles). True, as per the negative reviews here, it lacks a "rinse and hold" cycle and a visible indicator that cycles have completed, and you can't pause the machine mid-cycle (to add a forgotten item, for instance, or to check to see if the cycle is over) without opening the door. However, I've re-discovered the "rinse and hold" cycle that is also known as "my kitchen sink and faucet," and cracking the door open pauses the cycle without leaking any water.. And, once you crack the door open, a light (or the absence of one) lets you know if the cycle has finished or not. Bosch and KitchenAid are reputed to be the most reliable dishwasher brands, so I'm hopeful that this machine will serve me well for many years to come. It's sleek, powerful, and quiet, and comes with a relatively low price tag.

Great looking diswasher, reasonable price point
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great looking dishwasher that updates my kitchen well at a reasonable price point. It cleans well. I run it at night, and appreciate the minimal noise. My only complaint is that the dishes aren't dry when the load is finished. This requires hand drying for some items.

Very disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first appliance I purchased online without looking at it first. I read the Consumer Report reviews and customer reviews. This unit was ranked high by consumer reports and for the most part by Best Buy customers. I accepted delivery and installed the unit. I was not impressed with the quality of the basic construction. The trays roll out awkwardly and do not seem to be that sturdy. The unit seemed to be quite fragile. I was disappointed after I installed the unit and ran it for the first time. It is much noisier than the Samsung unit I replaced that was 3 years old. The noise part I can live with though as long as the unit works well and cleans the dishes. I started to load the unit for the first time on the day I installed it and came across a major problem. I loaded standard dinner dishes , 11" diameter in the bottom rack. I quickly realized that the upper rack's spray arm hits the dinner dishes and will not rotate. This caused the unit to stop working with no error code. Now, I have been loading dishwashers for 20 years and I have always placed the dinner dishes vertical in the tines. The Bosch user guide even shows that they are to be loaded vertical. It doesn't work if you do. I couldn't believe this. I thought I must be missing something. I called Bosch customer service and spoke to a person named Chuck. I politely explained my issue and was quickly addressed in a rude and condescending way. I really hope nobody will have to rely on this guy's assistance for a pleasant experience. I explained the problem and he told me that if the dishes didn't fit than there was nothing he could do. " I can't magically make them fit sir, that is impossible for me to do". I can't believe the response. I asked if there was someone else there that might be sympathetic to my issue and I was told that no one can make the dishes fit if they are to tall. He wasn't listening and didn't care. He was out right rude. After this I decided that I wanted the unit out of my home. I called Best Buy and they were very nice and told me that I would have to visit the store and arrange for the unit to be picked up and hopefully make another purchase to replace the unit. No problem here, will do this over the weekend. The instructions show full size dinner dishes set vertical as I have always loaded in the past. My wife experimented and has laid the dishes at a 45 degree angle in the rack. This eliminates the problem of the spray harm hitting the dishes but eats up a lot of room. We will see if this works and if not, returning to Best Buy. They will make the purchase right I am sure.

Hidden Controls is a Bad Idea
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not get the model with hidden controls! Operation of the dishwasher is negatively impacted because there is no way to tell if the cycle is complete without opening the door. Once you open the door and discover the cycle is not complete you have no way to know if you started the cycle where it left off or restarted from the beginning - or maybe didn't start at all. It’s like trying to guess if the refrigerator light is on or off when you close the door. We are unhappy with this dishwasher and unhappy with Best Buy and Bosch for not dealing with this issue, giving a warning or offering a replacement.

Love this dishwasher
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this last month and I love this dishwasher. I love the layout for the plates so its not wasted space like my last one. I also like the shelf for the coffee cups and the long silverware container to help separate silverware. You can't even tell its running its so quiet until you hear it beep to tell you its done. The hidden panels are awesome so my grand kids and kids cant push the buttons and wash nothing like they did with the last one. And the price was great other models with the same features cost quite a bit more.

Worst home home appliance I've ever owned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had problems with this unit right from the start. Unacceptable support: After running a load the sanitize light was not coming on consistently. Support told me it was because the intake temperature was not hot enough. I verified that the temperature was what they specified and they told me too bad, there was nothing I could do. Cheaply made: One of the consumer magazines warned against this model because of plastic parts. They seem flimsy and the bottom rack comes off the track frequently. Rack design: Design is too restrictive, causing inefficient loading and causing you to have to rearrange dishes frequently. Cleaning: It doesn't clean the dishes very well and it has a filter (also cheaply made) that has to be cleaned frequently.

Workingsofar
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Said to be stainless tub but interior bottom was plastic. Not overly loud but the water falling sounds like water leaking out. Checked it and ceiling tiles in basement several times first two uses. So far and other than that its working as expected. Drying with their initial surfactant is mostly working ok. Bumpy when pulling bottom rack out

Failed in Year 2
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have only been slightly pleased with the performance of this dishwasher for the past 2 years. It leaves dishes extremely wet and sometimes requires washing after the wash. Now, however, it has started to leak. Yes, I know it has a "tray" that is supposed to keep it from ruining your floor. I'm here to tell you that it does't matter. Our wood floor has been ruined, as has the trim of our cabinets. This was all new - a complete kitchen reno 2 years ago. Bosch sent out a tech that we didn't get to pick, who then charged us $90 to come out and then an additional amount to replace a part that didn't fix it. Totaling $225 to still have a leaky, useless diswasher. 3 weeks in and $225 poorer, we are right back in the same place. Bosch will not stand by the product. We are now researching a new dishwasher. It will NOT be a Bosch. 2 years after spending $700+ on this paperweight, we're now going to be spending another $1000 when it's all said and done on floor, repairs, new dishwasher, etc. It has been an awful experience.

Best Buy sold me a broken dishwasher
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the washer several months ago, it was delivered and installed at the end of February and just stopped working May 15th. Best Buy basically said, "sorry, not our problem. Contact the manufacturer." Bosch has only offered to repair and not replace the dishwasher. What kind of world do we live in where you pay full price for a brand new dishwasher, then come to find it's defective and needs to be repaired two months in? Seems I should have paid the refurbished price for this unit. What a rip off. Bosch SHX3AR76UC dishwasher

Dishes are not clean
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Besides the fact that it doesn't have a lot of room on top for loading dishes and the silverware compartment is very tiny, the dishes are not coming out clean. And like other people have said, you don't know when it's done washing or if it even finishes the cycle. I know the cycle finished and the dishes are still dirty. I completely rinsed them before loading it, and I used the best soap and lemi shine and the smudges that were still on the dishes when I loaded them, did not come off. They actually look dirtier than when I put them in.

My gripes about 100 series dishwasher
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have to wash dishes before putting into dishwasher. Other wise it will not clean as well. I HATE the racks. Cannot load as much into washer as our previous washer. middle rack into top slot - cannot put any tall glasses. Lower the middle rack and cannot put plates into washer without blocking spray arms
