Customers are saying
Customers have good things to say about the 100 Series 24" Tall Tub Built-In Dishwasher's quiet operation, excellent cleaning ability, and ease of use. Many appreciate its capacity and high-quality construction, although some find the rack design and interior space to be less than ideal. A few users noted longer than expected cycle times. Some also mentioned a slight odor issue.

codes kept coming up not working
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the unit had to be installed 3 times. The last time by a Bosche certified technician and he had to come back twice $160 and a second charge to shim and secure the unit, so it wouldn't be so sensitive to create a code and not work. Now it has broken again and the pump is bad and wont drain. Stay away too sensitive.

Dish washer
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this item before moving into our home. We moved in about a month and a half later. Once it was hooked up, we found out it didn’t work. 9 months later, Bosh hasn’t sent a replacement. We are still waiting.

love it....mostly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this over a month ago and I am amazed at just how well it cleans the crustiest of dishes. I do have 2 issues with it...the first is that there seems to be no way to turn off the beeping that indicates the dishwasher is done. The directions in the manual seem to be for a different model....and after discussing this with someone at Bosch - they too were at a loss. They agreed to send out a service tech - but then informed there was no one in my area. If you run your dishwasher at night - keep this in mind - because you have to manually turn it off or it beeps all night. My second issue is that sometimes the door must unlatch slightly...because I will check on it after several hours and nothing is happening. I give the door a little nudge and the cycle resumes (I always make sure it's closed tight after I start a wash cycle). Bosch told me I could return it - but after paying a plumber to install it I'm already a couple of hundred bucks into this dishwasher - and don't want to pay to have a replacement installed. So frustrating!!

unit never worked
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to send back and replace with a different washer. This unit did not completely fill with water and alarms would sound. It appears that a bad mother board (CPU) was at fault.

Super quiet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the quietest dishwasher I have ever heard (or not heard). I like the laser light that shines on the floor to let you know the dishwasher is still on. It is very clean looking and everything inside is well made. We are still getting used to the layout of the new dishwasher as it almost seems smaller than our old dishwasher. Not a lot of room for large bowls or cooking bowls. Overall, we are satisfied and would recommend this to others.

Not perfect but really, really good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We chose this Bosch dishwasher because of the brand's high reliability (our last dishwasher's pump gave out after just 4 years). We chose this model because it was supposed to be super-quiet and because we liked having the handle for dish towels...not thinking that, of course, when you open the dishwasher, the towels touch the floor! Overall, we are very pleased with our dishwasher. It really is super-quiet--you do need that light on the floor to make sure it's running! It's noisier on the 60-minute mode, but even then it's quiet enough to have a conversation. Others have noted three problems with this dishwasher: dishes not getting dry, a beep on cycle completion that some find annoying, and a layout of tines that doesn't work well with today's big plates and bowls. For the first two complaints: Read the directions! The dishes will get dry if you use enough rinse aid. (Not sure why that is, but there you have it.) The card enclosed with the dishwasher explains how to adjust the amount dispensed. Start with the maximum amount, and your dishes will be dry. Then gradually dial back the amount dispensed to save on rinse aid while still getting the dishes dry. For the beep: Again read the directions! The card explains how to adjust or turn off the beep. The layout of the tines on the bottom rack IS annoying. Instead of one overall grid pattern, like most dishwashers have, the bottom rack has three separate sections of tines, each in a different grid pattern. None of them are big enough to hold today's oversizes dinner plates and pasta bowls without the dishware taking up space in an adjoining section. Large pasta bowls and baking dishes are a particular problem--most dishwashers have extra space around the perimeter for larger items, but not Bosch. One row of tines can be laid flat on each rack, but that doesn't really help. We are still playing around with how best to load it but starting to resign ourselves to simply running it a bit more often. If you think this might be a deal-breaker, take a couple of your large plates and bowls to the store and see how they would fit. Otherwise, we are completely satisfied with our dishwasher and recommend it highly.

Had to return
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this dishwasher to replace a ten year old Bosch. Cleaned well, very quiet. Two big problems. Layout inside was terrible. Big plates, bowls didn't fit in any of the lower racks. Upper racks were poor also. With all the bobs and weaves of the upper racks, glasses didn't fit in any cohesive way. Tried for a week to make it work and gave up in frustration. Also, door was flimsy.

Nice overall but there's a door issue & rack quirk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Background: So I'm replacing a dishwasher made in 1994 that had a nice rack layout but wouldn't dry very well anymore and starting to make weird noises while washing. Not worth trying to repair and modern day machines are much more water efficient. I was convinced that Bosch was the best way to go, along with one other brand but looking at all considerations I went with Bosch, which IS a known renowned brand. Overall summary: The red light shining on the floor to show it is running is a nice touch. It blinks if attention is required. I like the hidden control panel. This brand of dishwasher uses a condensation process to try dishes with. As a result, the dishwasher will feel very warm during the latter cycles - the cupboard next to it where the plumbing is feels like a sauna. It cleans well enough. Bosch is a better brand, but certain quirks - chiefly the rack layout - now leave pause for thought. The good: * red LED light showing it's running or if there's a problem needing addressing * It's quiet. Almost obscenely quiet! * LED time indicator shows the current setting's time period it requires to wash dishes with (default mode is 2 hours 10 minutes) * water efficient (hence longer default wash time) * stainless steel panel on the inside makes cleaning and drying easier * condensation drying technique is growing fast on me, it's quirky but nifty and it works given time Now for the bad - your experiences may vary: * the door, which requires a bit of pressure to open, is finicky when the closed-latch sensor needs to be hit. During mid-cycle, I had to open and close a couple of times to get it going again. And I've only used it once, so far. * the unit I received also seemed to dribble rinse fluid while putting some in, so an exchange is going to have to be made - I might try the same model again but then go for the next model class up. Even in the best production process there can be one-off flukes. * the unit I got also has some bowing along the top where the control panel does not sit in all the way. Steam doesn't emanate from it so it's probably not a slickly designed thin vent but a defect and I spent half an hour finding photos online (that are not lame CGI mock-ups but actual product photos) to confirm the bowing probably should not be there. Even the CGI mockup would sufficiently represent the product, and it's no less flush, so it is possible I did get a dud. And the ugly? * The normal wash mode requires 2 hours 10 minutes. It's not a big deal by any means, but coming from a 25 year old machine that whizzed through cleaning in under an hour, it's still a shock. But water efficiency and condensation drying process explain this. The Bosch does have a 60 minute mode available, but I'll stick to the slower version as less water will be used. So this one isn't too ugly by any means... * Want a sauna in your kitchen? This new technology might be jarring for you at first: Condensation based drying mechanisms use superheated water during a final rinse to get condensation to dry water drops off of freshly washed dishware as the surrounding air isn't as hot due to the stainless steel tub. You WILL need the brand of (or similar) rinse agent to ensure this condensation process works to its full potential. On the plus side, no old fashioned heating element is used, so there is an energy cost savings here as well. The built-in water heater used for the final rinse is certainly effective! This threw me off at first, but it will be a little nicer in the winter when having to dishes since keeping the cupboard open to channel that heat will probably save a tad of money from the heating bill. * At first I thought the rack layout was nice, but dealing with larger saute pans and woks really becomes an issue if more than one need to be washed at the same time. Removing the silverware cubby from the bottom rack alleviates some of the problem, using the flat accessory racks at the very top to keep silverware laid out flat instead. And that's "flatware" redefined... :) But this is where the big point drop occurs. you can spend an hour in the store looking at layouts and think it's great, but utility never really hits home until the machine gets home and you use it and find that "Whoops, there are some differences in interior design". So, all and all (and if you read this far, thank you! :) ), this machine is energy conscious but as with some other people I do agree that the rack layout is not ideal if you use a lot of pans to make one meal, and I believe there might be a door design flaw for this particular model since others have reflected on some similar issues as well. I still recommend this model, but not for people with families or individuals that use a lot of big pans that want to clean them all in one cycle.

Exceeded Expectations, I LOVE IT!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased in November 2015 after having purchased a Frigidare Gallery 2432 and JennAir before. The Frigidare did not come close to the performance of Bosch though Jennair did work well for a while . The cycle is 2 hours and each time I note that the glasses look brand new, the dishes dry completely and I've discovered by accident that if dishes don't have dried on foods, you don't even need to use detergent and the they clean beautifully regardless! It was a Black Friday sale (not much saved) but the purchase was worth every penny. Some reviews I'd read before this purchase complained of the tub being too small. I did NOT find this to be a factor. In fact it loads fully & well and the racks are the best I've seen thus far. I love everything about my new Bosch and recommend it highly!.

A few things to get used to..
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We haven't had this dishwasher installed for that long, but the cleaning of the dishes seems to be a huge improvement over the one we replaced. I still haven't gotten used to how the dishes need to be placed, but that should get better the more we use it. My only complaint is that the dishes don't truly get dry on the top rack. I know there isn't a heating element, but when I'm using the extra dry feature, I don't expect them to still have water sitting on top of cups and bowls! Hopefully I'll get used to that result, too. Overall, it's the quietest dishwasher I've been around and I'm glad that it was what we chose!

Impressive, but flawed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit is incredibly quiet, and cleans everything well (so far using recommended Finish detergent cakes/jet dry). Racks not as accommodating as our prior model (Samsung), flatware basket is large but stores items somewhat awkwardly. Tines seem to be too close together as it can be hard to get larger bowls/plates/dishes loaded. Red indicator light shines on floor to let you know its running- helpful as unit is that quiet. Best Buy delivery/install/haul away went OK and right on time.

Quiet, Effective, Frustrating
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This machine gets the dishes clean, and it's super quiet. I'm learning how it wants me to load my particular dishes, and that's (mostly) satisfactory. I'm not thrilled with the cycle selection. You can't turn off heated dry, even on the short cycle. It really dumps the rinse aid onto my otherwise clean dishes. It ships on a high setting, but even the low setting coats the dishes with an overbearing perfumed film. I'm OK with some fragrance in my life, but not on my dishes. Food taste is mostly about aromatic compounds, and the rinse aid fragrance just spoils it, especially coffee or wine. There's no good way to wash stemware. The fold-down tray does a bad job of holding wine glasses, and that takes up a lot of space. Speaking of the fold-down trays, they're a great idea but they prevent access to loading underneath them. My family will sometimes help load the dishwasher, putting stuff in the trays, which gets accidentally dumped over the side when someone tries to put dishes under the trays. The bottom rack isn't constrained very well on its track, and if it's front-heavy it crashes into the gap between the tub and door. Dishes get a violent beating when that happens. Overall, it's a poorly designed user experience grafted onto what appears to be an engineering marvel for quiet dish cleaning. I'm not sure I'd choose this machine over my old loud one, had it not eventually broken.
