The washer handles all my dishes.I appreciate the water spraying under the dishes.Also the dishes come out crystal clean.worrh every penny.

This dishwasher is perfect for kitchens that are open to living spaces. You can hardly even tell when it’s running. It has a light that shines on the floor that lets you know whether it’s still washing or not. It does a great job of cleaning too, no more need for pre-washing by hand like we had to with our old dishwasher.

Let’s you sort the silverware on a separate third rack allowing you more space for extra dishes, bowls or pots

No problems installing. Runs so quietly! Good thing a red light detector turns on when running!

Had some of the odor issues that people have posted about. But that has gone away over use. It cleanses very well.

Bought this to replace my old Frigidaire one and it is a massive improvement. Very very quiet. Still figuring out the best settings for drying though.

Upgraded my 15 year old whirlpool that finally bit the dust. Not only does this wash/dry much better...it's insanely quiet. I thought it was a sales pitch about how the light that shines on the floor lets you know that its on, but that's no joke. You can barely hear it when its on even when you're standing right next to it. Walk about 2 feet a way and you wouldn't even know. Extremely satisfied.

All our dishes, pans and utensils including our knives, forks & spoons are shiny clean!!!

Purchased to replace a Kenmore Elite that developed a leak. We went with Bosch based on their reputation and anti-leak technology that it appears nobody else has. The dishwasher looks great and we were excited to get it but we will be returning or exchanging it. The reason? The strong smell of tar that accompanies every wash cycle. This dishwasher, similar to what appears to be every other brand and model, uses bitumen as a noise suppressing insulation on the exterior of the washer. Bitumen is similar to the asphalt used on roads and smells just like a freshly paved road - not exactly what you want your dishes or house to smell like. This smell exists outside of the dishwasher while it is running but also affects the smell of the inside. It is not very noticeable (to me at least) when the dishwasher is not running and is likely triggered by heat. As an engineer my guess is that the use of bitumen is due to the following: the stainless steel surrounding the dishwasher is probably very thin to cut cost. With thin metal something was needed to add structural rigidity and dampen vibration/ringing of the stainless. I would think alternative options would include thicker gauge stainless or a bimetallic option through attaching painted carbon steel plates. These options would likely be more expensive than bitumen but in my opinion would be worth the cost and any potential noise increase penalty. We never even got a chance to see how the dishwasher performed with dirty dishes - since installation we have run it about a dozen times - sometimes with just water, sometimes including dish soap, and even trying as many reviews suggest an open bowl of vinegar. Over time the odor does seem to have gone down a little but it is still very strong and gives my wife migraines. Would it eventually go away completely if we kept running it? Maybe, but with a 15 day return period we unfortunately can't afford to take that chance and really shouldn't have to. Maybe we got one for which the bitumen hadn't yet cured and others will be ok (we purchased knowing that the smell could be an issue with the Bosch brand but did so anyway based on most reviews here and on other retailers not mentioning an odor). The odor is not a result of our water and is not due to an improperly installed drain hose (it is installed correctly). My wife reached out to Bosch for their advice - they were less than helpful. The email conversation is attached below for reference. Hopefully this review helps you make your own decision. If we try another one and the experience is different I will add a separate review. If we replace it with something else I'll mention what we went with and if the experience was any different. Email with Bosch following my wife's initial question regarding odor and any potential health impacts from the off-gassing: After further searching, I would recommend that you run the DW until the bitumen cures and the smell goes away. We sell a wide variety of these dishwashers and don’t have any know issues where it has caused health issues. (Bosch response): Once you run the appliance several cycle runs, the odor will dissappear.

So far I love my new dishwasher. I don’t have to clean the dishes before I stick them in dishwasher! Very quiet!

We love this dishwasher! It’s even more quiet than we hoped. It does an awesome job cleaning the worse of messes. And we love the buttons where the kids can’t really mess with them.
