We’ve run about 120 loads in two months, so I feel reasonable writing a review. Replaced our 10 year old Bosch that started to make our dishes smell, despite cleaning the filter religiously and running empty loads to clean the basin. No smell in the new dishwasher. Even with the 3rd row, All our dishes fit great, including large pots, bowls and 9x13 pans. We do not have wine glasses, can’t speak to that. Sometimes when extra room is needed, I remove the utensil cage on the bottom rack (using top rack for silverware) and it provides a ton of extra space. I actually rarely use the bottom rack utensil cage. It takes longer to load the 3rd rack with silverware (than traditional baskets at the bottom) but I like that my crawling infant can no longer reach the utensils at all while I’m loading/unloading (you know what I’m talking about if you have kids). Plus, it’s nice not to have to bend over to load/unload the utensils, and I bet they come out cleaner. Everything comes out clean, and our glasses look as clean as they smell. Drying works great. Never had a problem with wet plastic dishes beyond places where water naturally settles (like the underside of mixing bowls with a raised base). Sipping cups and plastic kiddie cups are dry and ready to be stacked in each other in the cupboard. I do use Jet Dry, though. Front of dishwasher shows ALL fingerprints, but ours is on an island facing the stove, so it isn’t a concern for us (image shows fingerprinted dishwasher- not terrible, but not great). With the emphasis on how quiet this is (and it is quiet), I thought it would be even quieter than our 10 year old Bosch. It’s the same. They are both significantly quieter than the Kitchenaid we had before that. Our previous setup was for a wired dishwasher (not a plug in). Installer said this dishwasher came with a plug, but also included what was needed to convert to a direct wired unit- in case that helps anyone.

One month in. Super quiet. LOVE the 3rd rack. Racks all seem strong and slide well. No bad smell as referenced by others (mostly for 300 models) but we always do the airdry option. Plenty of room if you pay attention to how you load the dishwasher and with the gargantuan silverware basket removed. We use the 3rd rack for silverware. Depending on how tall your glasses are, you can adjust the 3rd rack down for bigger ladles, etc. same for the 2nd rack depending on the size of your plates. My only complaints would be the drying and run time. SO thankful I chose the model with Auto Air. First time I ran it I chose normal with Auto Air. The racks and interior were still wet. Might have been better had I not checked it right after the door popped open. Now I run normal+sanitize+airdry. Problem solved; but, the run time is ridiculous. Wish the EPA hadn’t done away with heated drying. So buy the 500 over the 300 for the air dry. Skip the 800 or higher. I can’t imagine the difference in quietness could be so profound to warrant $200-$600 more.

I LOVE the fact that I can have a quiet conversation in the same room as this dishwasher while it's operating. I LOVE the well-designed drawers that fit items of all sizes. I LOVE that it cleans well and looks great. I don't love that after a couple weeks of ownership a long crack appeared near the code display on the top control panel. Thankfully, we were under warranty and a replacement panel was installed at no cost to us. Hopefully this defect will be phased out of newer machines of this same model. Our rating would have been five stars if that crack had not occurred.

Quiet, efficient, our glasses sparkle and our unrinsed plates come out clean. Dries pretty well in auto air setting Only thing I could ask for would be some way to see how much time remains in a cycle.

I Love that it’s so quiet. But it would’ve been better if the center rack was adjustable. Tall things have to be placed in a slanted position in order to fit. Even so, I still would not trade it for anything other dishwasher. (4.5 stars)

So quiet that we doubt it’s on half the time. Leaves dishes very clean, which is most important. Only negative (and it might reflect my lack of research rather than the product) is that the ‘auto air’ dry feature has to be set each time you turn it on. Very happy. Wish I’d upgraded earlier.

Quiet and works great. I wasn’t sure about the design not having a heating element but the reviews for the Bosch are so good I went for it. Glad I got the 500 with the auto dry which opens the door automatically. I think it helps and the dishes are completely dry in the morning. I always run it at night and use the delay function. It’s not very fingerprint resistant but that’s the only minor complaint I have.

I purchased this dishwasher from Best Buy and had it delivered by them on 1/6/21. Had it professionally installed. It worked great for about 10.5 months. It is so quiet you have to have total silence in the room to actually hear it running. I love this feature the most. My second favorite feature in the auto air feature which pops the door open at the end of the cycle. This helps the dishes get nice and dry by the time you go to take them out of the machine. Unfortunately it really only worked for about 11 months when we noticed the door was not open in the morning and there was still over 1.5 hrs remaining on the cycle timer. Water was in the bottom of the tub. We followed manual trouble shooting guide and there were no clogs in the filter. No error codes. It just seemed to stop after an hour into the cycle from what we suspected was the door loosening but not popping open. Just enough to stop the machine. I called tech support. They had me do a reset to factory settings on the auto-air door opening feature. Didn't work so I called a local Bosch certified repair man 11/10/21. He ordered a new latch, and a new, "Start," button as he noticed that ours was sticking. Parts finally came in last week and were installed. The start button works like new but the new latch didn't fix the door loosening problem. We have been using a chair to brace the door for the last 3.5 months. This keeps the door closed tight enough to complete the cycle 90% of the time. Of course, this negates the use of the auto door opening feature to vent the steam and help dry the dishes. This week, the repair tech did call Bosch and try to troubleshoot further. They suspect a problem with the hinges or springs which are supposed to hold the door tight in the closed position. Apparently when the pressure builds from the steam inside the tub, they are not strong enough to keep the door closed. Now I have to wait for those items to come in and be installed to see if that fixes the problem. I sure hope Bosch realizes this is still the same problem that I reported back in November of 2021, while the unit was still under full warranty and not want me to pay for the labor cost as now the one year warranty has expired. We will see. Considering I paid $900+ dollars for this item, I really can't recommend it at that price point. I replaced a Whirlpool that lasted 20 years with this overpriced unit that was fully functional for only 11 months. Not worth it in today's economy.

The Sweet Spot of Bosch Dishwashers!

The sweet spot of Bosch dishwashers. At least once a week one of us stops while we are unloading this thing and we say that we didn't think we'd ever actually like a dishwasher. The top drawer (for utensils, etc.) is fantastic. We thought it might be a waste of time but it turns out that we can fit all of our utensils in it and we don't need the utensils basket at all. The organized approach to that utensil drawer makes unloading super-fast. The 500 series includes the utensil drawer that can be adjusted to fit things like finger bowels, spatulas, etc. The 300 model doesn't have the same drawer. This is one of the useful upgrades that I think makes the 500 worthwhile. [Photo is of the drawer, as if you pulled it out of the machine and looked down at it.] The 500 also hits the sweet spot in terms of drying. When the door pops open, it just needs 90 seconds to release bunches of the humidity in the unit. We generally leave the door open until we unload the washer, but we sometimes close it (when we're actively using the kitchen at the time). Either way, we've never had a problem with wet dishes and there's never been an odor. We were used to pre-rinsing the bejeezus out of our dishes and this thing will have none of that. It's super-quiet (I have a 45 db hearing loss and often don't hear it running - the red light that it beams on the floor is a perfect way to know it's running.) Emptying filters requires no special tools, which is great. We keep waiting for this machine to disappoint us, but it ain't happening. It makes sense that we had to wait for this model - it's a great balance between the various Bosch models. We didn't want/need the drying process of the 800 series, but the 500 offers an eco-thoughtful approach to improve drying.

I've had this dishwasher picked out for 2 years. Mine was 10 years old when I started looking for my next one. This dishwasher is everything I wanted--Bosch, stainless, quiet, 3 racks, all stainless inside, auto pop open door when cycle is complete, red led light shines on floor when cycle is running. What is not to love!!! I put every dish, pot, and baking cookware in it. Comes out better than hand washing. This is my 2nd Bosch. Always happy with the condensation drying--no heating elements saves energy. The pocket handle is great---now my clothes don't get caught on the handle when I'm at the counter. Love it!!!!!

This was a great purchase! My wife and I really like how it gets dishes clean without any kind of pre-wash. It also cleans plastic very well. Thankfully the engineers at Bosch put in a light that shines on the floor so you know it is running. Without the light you would never know because it is so quiet.

After doing some extensive research I choose this model of the 300 series. I can not be happier with the purchase. It is really quiet and the design is sleek and modern. I do not have a problem with the drying. In fact I was a little hesitant but so far it has dried all of my dishes well. I use auto, sanitize, and open air. The open air feature must help the dishes dry well because I have run across that problem. It also has plenty of space.
