It is very quiet. It is easy to operate. Cleans dishes thoroughly. Has wonderful individual buttons to push that are easy to depress. Our old dishwasher had a pressure strips with buttons underneath which was unreliable and hard to depress. The controls are on top of the door to protect from children. Recessed handle is great so you don't bump into it. The only slight disappointment is that when the cycle is done and time has passed the dishes are not completely dry...because it doesn't have a drying heat element.

My three year old Samsung dishwasher was not meeting my expectations and started having technical issues that were going to require high diagnostic fees. I decided to research and buy a new dishwasher and here I am today. After much research I decided to purchase this Bosch - 500 Series and am I glad I did! First and foremost, this machine is VERY quiet. If it weren't for the light indicator at the bottom I wouldn't know it was running. I love the third rack feature and after a couple days of using it I can say that it cleans very well (if used as directed). The organization of the prongs on the racks is great and much better than other dishwashers I have experienced. The AutoAir feature is good and my dishes are clean, dry, and ready to go after a wash cycle. I was nervous to spend this much money on a dishwasher but you honestly get what you invest.

I wanted a dishwasher that was quite. And I got just that. And more!!! The third rack I use with every wash for tongs, butcher knives, and small plastics lids. I never have to prewash my dishes. Gets them clean every time. I’m very satisfied.

Without going into every little detail; I have found this washer to be as described. Very quiet, cleans better than any I've had before, and was well worth the money.

Cleans and dry well very quiet. Good capacity Cycle time is a bit long at 170 minutes but no real issue for us

The BOSCH 500 series dishwasher is A DREAM!! Our old GE dishwasher, which had a plastic tub, finally failed after the tub warped and started leaking. Fortunately, we have an AHS policy that covered replacement if the appliance was unrepairable, and we were able to use the $670 AHS paid us (what it would have cost to REPLACE what we HAD) to go toward upgrading to the BOSCH 500. The BOSCH is incredibly quiet, and unless you have REALLY good hearing, the only way to know it is operating is to see the little red light that the unit shines on the floor below it when on. The unit cleans REMARKABLY well, and does not require pre-rinsing dishes. The third rack for utensils and silverware is FANTASTIC!! We are able to place silverware piece by piece, with separate slots for everything! Makes putting clean utensils away easier than ever! The auto-open feature at the end of the wash cycle has meant that we have had NO remaining moisture on any of the dishes (including plastics) when we go to put things away. Well worth the extra cost, as the stainless tub will never warp, and adjustable racks that can be set to handle just about any item are wonderful. BestBuy was able to have our Bosch 500 series dishwasher delivered and installed within a WEEK of purchase! No other retailer was able to provide installation as quickly!

Love this dishwasher super easy to use and has a lot of space. Dishes come out really clean.

One year in I'm still scratching my head as to how I paid so much for a dishwasher that doesn't dry your dishes. I should have looked into this a bit better as I was mislead by the "Auto Dry" marketing. "Auto Dry" just opens the door when its done, and in five or ten hours most your stuff is usually mostly dry unless it's plastic, and in that case it's still completely wet. This is fine when running it at the end of the day, but if you need to do a quick run and get the dishes out quick, you're stuck hand drying everything like it's Little House on the Prairie. It's nice how this is quiet, but yeah, not thrilled with how the business suits at Bosch are misleading people by labeling the "open door when done" button like it controls some non-existent dryer. They've definitely lost some trust with me. I also wish it would use a little more water when rinsing. Nearly everything comes out tasting of soap unless you put about 1/3 of the recommended soap in the wash, and still, I'm finding myself rinsing most of the dishes by hand before eating. Yes I'm using rinse-aid. This brings me back to the "Auto Dry" feature which you can't activate if you choose any cycles but the full wash. Also after choosing your options, it's impossible enable "Auto Dry" unless you do a hard reset, which is insanely stupid.

My Bosch dishwasher works great. It holds more than my last one - it was also a Bosch! It cleans the dishes very well and for the most part they are dry also. It is very quiet so I appreciate the light at the bottom so I know when it is running. Overall very pleased and worth the wait to get it! The only negative is that it does get some finger prints but they do wipe off easily!

This washer is very quiet. It also dries the dishes better than my old dishwasher. The 3rd shelf is wonderful for silverware. However, to squeeze a 3rd shelf in means the height of the other shelves is compromised. We have to be careful plates do not hit the washers spray arms. The washer has a large capacity, but something about the way the trays are set up means we cannot fill it completely

I've had this dishwasher for almost 2 years and I really like it - it's quiet and cleans really really well. I love the auto air feature, dishes come out dry and shiny. The rack placement is something to get used to but I think the top rack is great for silverware and smaller flat dishes. Very happy with it!

Works well, dishes are always clean but never dry. Racks are difficult to load, but holds a lot. Love the third top rack feature. Very very quiet. The service and install were really very good.

So far I love this and it does a great job cleaning. I will say within a week one of the small plastic clips on the drawer did break. Additionally, it had the smallest silverware holder I have ever seen. Ended up purchasing a bigger one separately. It does have top third shelf which I ended up loving!

We've had this for about 2 months now. We jumped up 1 level at the last minute to get the 3rd rack. It has taken us weeks to figure out the best way to load, but now that we are using the top rack for our silverware and removed the silverware caddy, everything fits. No matter how we load it, if the spray arms are moving, everything gets clean. We like Tervis cups and there isn't a perfect place for them, but without the silverware caddy they go on the bottom with our stock pots etc. The silverware actually gets cleaner on the top rack than in the caddy, so that's another good thing. Putting silverware away by being able to grab a handful of forks at once is great too. Absolutely love this dishwasher.

Decided to replace an old 500 series that had the issue of the front handle breaking off. It was going to be 300 to fix so thought putting that money in a new dishwasher was the better value. We couldn’t be happier with that decision. It’s nice that the buttons are hidden, there’s no handle (to break) and I like the 3rd row for silverware which I originally thought I wouldn’t want (before using). This dishwasher is also much quieter than the one it replaced. So much so, that things moving around is really all we hear. And I like the red light that shines on the floor to tell you it’s on. Been using for about 6 months now and recommend this unit.

I am impressed thus far with this Bosch dishwasher. It is much quieter than our old dishwasher, and you can barely hear it when it is running, even if you are right next to it. There is a nice light that illuminates a spot on the floor to tell you the dishwasher is actually running. This dishwasher also cleans really well, much better than our old dishwasher. I also like the packing efficiency which can be achieved. The 'slots' in the racks really enable one to load a lot of dishes in a single load. The only small negative I have noticed thus far is that the bottom rack can sometimes get off the sliding track. It is not too hard to put the rack back on the track, but it is a bit of an annoyance.

Nice dishwasher! Quiet and thorough cleaning. Dry dishes too! I like the top rack for silverware too.

Our last dishwasher at our prior home was a Bosch. When we moved, the Whirlpool unit in the new house was on its last leg. We found out when using it the first time that the unit wouldn't drain properly. A replacement part later, still the same issue. Instead of spending more money replacing the next likely culprit part, we looked at all the dishwashers out there and decided to get this unit. Very easy to install and smartly packaged, the Bosch 500 series unit projects a red light on the floor as a visual "hey, I'm running a cycle right now" reminder. The dishwasher is easy to set and program and does a great job washing dirty dishes. We both continue to be Bosch fans!

If there is a better dishwasher out there, I don't know where you can find it. Our previous dishwasher never got everything clean. Now everything comes out spotless. And it is significantly less noisy than any other dishwasher I have been acquainted with. Except for the Bosch in my parents' house.

Overall this is a very good dishwasher. It only has two problems. First is it does a bad job at drying the dishes. Even using the air dry option I still find wet dishes. Secondly, the dishwasher has a horrible smell between loads. It is installed properly. Its level and the drain hose loops well above the inlet to the disposal. I have found a lemon scented hard water additive that helps the smell immensely.
