Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the 800 Series 24" Tall Tub Built-In Dishwasher's quiet operation, excellent cleaning ability, and the convenient third rack. Many appreciate its capacity and ease of use, along with the sleek design and stainless steel tub. However, some users noted a lingering smell and longer than average cycle times as potential drawbacks. The filter is easy to clean, according to some users.

    Excellent Dishwasher!

We looked at several different models. This dishwasher is even better than we expected! It is so quiet I sometimes have to go back and check that I turned it on. The dishes come out amazingly clean. On the normal cycle, the dishes do end up being a little damp, but there is a setting for more drying if you prefer it. Overall, an excellent purchase!

    Drying Issue opinion

Those who don't like this dishwasher often are disappointed with how it dries. I just ran my first cycle on Auto with Sanitize and Intensive Dry on and opened the door immediately upon completion. All my glasses, stoneware and corningware were hot, clean and dry. The plastics were wet. I do have Melamine thick plastic plates and bowls that were warm and dry. I unload all non plastics first from bottom to top and let any wet plastics drip dry. If I cared about wet plastics I would try the rinse aid but a few wet plastics don't bother me. If you want your plastics bone dry you might be disappointed. I am happy with NO rinse aid but I may try vinegar or a more natural rinse aid if I find it a problem or have a load full of plastics. Also to the reviewer that says it uses a lot of rinse aid, check the manual. You can set the amount of rinse aid it uses. It is defaulted to use nearly maximum levels. You can use 0 to 6 I think and I believe the default is 5. I set mine to 0 and my rinse aid compartment is empty.

Cleans well, great features, but difficult to load

I read reviews before I purchased this dishwasher, so I was aware of some of the issues others had experienced. First the Pros: I love the look of the exterior door, the inset handle and no logo. The dishes come out clean, which is always a plus. I love the third rack. It really comes in handy. I also like the ease in which you can adjust the racks. I like the ability to run a 1/2 load. This saves on water and electricity. The cons: I have readjusted the racks but still can not find that place where it is easy to load the dishes. As others have stated it seems like there is a lot of spaces where you can't put dishes. The pictures in the manual show it fully loaded. I have not been able to accomplish this with my dishes. I have never used the dry cycle on any dishwasher, but the dishes do come out really wet. I usually let them set for 12 hours which helps. I think part of the wet issue has to do again with how the racks make you load the dishes. I will continue to try different configurations, but there is usually water setting in dishes because they are not slanted the right way. I use earth friendly dishwasher products. I have had no issues with cleaning. I do place vinegar in the top rack as a rinse agent that works well for the dishes. The silverware is sometimes spotted, but wipes right off. I refill the vinegar when I unload the dishwasher, so I have had no problem with orders. With the unit being damp inside I can understand why you might have order problems. I gave a 3 star rating because I feel like I'm having to put a lot of thought into something that should just work. I would recommend this dishwasher as long as you understand their may be things you don't love.

    Reviewed after 1 yr.

Researched dishwashers for year and a half. All brands, prices and reviews. Some say this one has rickety lower rack with rollers that come off track. This allows for "give" in the unit so that full heavy load won't cause wheels to break or come off. Unit does have condensation dry and I was learey of that. Installer said turn on hot sink water and let run until it gets hot and also use jet dry. Of all my friends and family reports on their dishwashers, I have the prize! This one does dry and makes my dishes cleaner and more beautiful than ANY dishes I've seen!! Almost a year old now and it is my kitchen pride and joy!! Also, do not unload until long after red light goes off. Dishes continue to dry longer. We cannot help fed regulations on energy use companies are strangled by. They aren't allowed to produce units that get water hot and heaters that dry. That sucks. Even still this unit amazes me I will never ever own anything but a Bosch from here on.

We have now bought two of these dishwashers and we love them. The internal racks are set up so convienently. The washing is excellent. It is very quiet. No heating element means things can go anywhere in the dishwasher.

I used to own a Samsung model for a copy one of months (latest model release) however I was highly displeased with the quality of washing produce. This one is very quiet, gives you sparkling clean dishes and no after wash odor.

AVOID THE HYPE, TRY SOMETHING ELSE

Where do I start ? Don't believe all the hype and reviews. This machine is not what it appears. The filter system means it WILL smell ; Unless of course you spend more time maintaining the washer than you used to spend handwashing. And of course, more money on special soap, deoderizers, jet dry etc etc. Because it has no vent system everything just sits and ferments. And the size of the thing is deceptive. It's alot smaller. ALOT smaller than you think once you start trying to load it. The tines are spaced too far apart on one side and too close together on the other to give you any flexibility in what to put in and where it should go. That Kitchenaid that we replaced.... Had at least 6 inches more depth on the interior and was probably wider, not to mention a tine system that let US choose where pans, bowls and other none-thin-plate items went. Now we end up doing a handwash more than we ever did before because there's no room in the dishwasher. The upper third drawer "for silverware" is more of a pain than not. The items have to be placed carefully or they won't stay in the slots, and then you can't pull the silverware basket out and take it to a cabinet/drawer to put things away. It's multiple trips to the washer and back to put things away. We bought it from Pacific at BEST BUY and did not notice the 15 day return policy, so when I called before a normal 30 day limit, they told me that they "couldn't" take it back. Bosch of course says it's working as designed. No one bothers to mention that the design is lousy. Another insult is that the drain hose is TOO SMALL to fit on the normal garbage disposal inlet. And They Don't Sell a Converter. You're on your own. You would think they would understand their market and at least try to make the user experience more friendly. Cleaning ability is worse as far as my wife is concerned. We still end up with grains of something on our glasses in the middle rack. Another annoyance is the silverware basket that was in the Bosch. The "individual placeholders" for items are so flimsy and thin that they make using them a pain rather than a positive. Compare the other brands baskets and you'll see much better design. Again, we miss the Kitchenaid basket now that we have actually tried to use this one. Yes it's quiet. That's the only selling point that really delivers. The usefulness factor is extremely disappointing. I'll spend more money on a Kenmore , or less on a Kitchenaid next time even though the Kitchenaid just plain died after 10 years though it was a solid performer up until that point. And that next time will be as soon as I can justify wasting all this money on a lousy dishwasher.

    DO NOT BUY THIS DISHWASHER

Have been using the dishwasher for about two weeks and have yet to have dry dishes. Any of them. I called Bosch today and was told the dishwasher uses condensation drying; there is no heating element and that plastic will NEVER (her word) come out dry. Bosch couldn't explain why the utensils and dishes are wet. Also you have to make sure you remove your dishes within two hours of the cycle finishing or the dishes will become wet again. Now my concern is that if the unit never dries how long will it be before mold starts. Save yourself the headache pass on this dishwasher.

    Unequivocally unimpressed (DOA)

Let me begin by saying that over-promising and under-delivering is the perfect recipe for poor service. Best Buy sales rep in the store where I purchased the unit asked me for my desired delivery time. Got a text the following day with a time that was completely opposite from the one I requested. The phone rep told me that I should have purchased an ancillary "MyTime" service. After a lot of back and forth about why BB should be obligated to honor the time I was promised in the store by comping the service, the rep attempted to escalated to a manager. Conveniently, no managers were available to approve the request, so I asked to be transferred to the store manager where I purchased the unit. Come to find out, the rep on the phone had no clue what she was talking about because the "MyTime" service wasn't even available for contractor-installed appliances. Cancelled and purchased the same unit from a different big box store because I didn't feel like Best Buy deserved my business. The unit that showed up with the installer was DOA and riddled with error codes. The most unimpressive part... the user manual provides absolutely no guidance what so ever as far as trouble shooting error codes. The fact that Bosch's website didn't have troubleshooting info either should have been an obvious red flag. After calling Bosch's 800 line and waiting on hold, the phone rep refused to provide any printable or emailed troubleshooting info; instead he attempted to talk me through the issues as if I was the contractor installing the appliance. Overpriced junk! Don't waist your time! Will never buy an appliance from Best Busy again either. Returning the unit again and looking into a Samsung.
