We originally purchased a different Bosch dishwasher, but that one become discontinued. They upgraded us to this one. Was bummed out that this gappened and it pushed us back an additional month. Once it was finished being installed, my wife asked the installers if we needed to run a clean cycle first, they claimed they already started it. She said she didnt belive them, but turns out the dishwasher was hot. We loaded up the dishwasher for its first run cycle. Hit the correct settings and started it up. We didn't hear anything. Put our hands on it and you tell it was running. Thankfully there is a littlw red light that says it's running, otherwise we would have no idea. This purchase was far better than we originally thought. My only complaint is that the dishes arent completely dry, but maybe it is because I've been impatient to empty.

I'm just a single guy. My research showed this $1700 dishwasher's build quality (Bosch 800 series) was overall the most reliable. I don't want to deal with things breaking so that's VERY important to me. It was very expensive, but I'm a buy once cry once guy, but I expect it to function perfectly also... and it does.
The layout of the racks is WAY better than the 12-15 year old one I had. Amazingly, the top rack does a great job with silverware, allowing me to remove the silverware thing from the bottom rack. The second rack you can drop down the sides of the rack, which I did and these very tall 24oz glasses I prefer fit! Leaving the bottom rack for plates and big things, etc.
I generally have reasonably clean dishes that go in, so I use the most efficient cycle "Normal". On my old I used no heat drying and just wiped dry what was left of the water... on this machine it must seal better or something because the dishes were wetter. Anyway, that's not a "problem" as I turned the drying off, but then I tried the crystal drying (or whatever the name is) and it works amazingly well so that's what I'll be doing from now on.
I didn't care too much about quiet because my house is very old and my kitchen is absolute trash, and I have a window air conditioner, etc, noise isn't a problem. Having said that my kitchen needs to be gutted and remodeled, badly. The dishwasher wouldn't quite fit all the way under the crappy countertop and it sticks out at least 3" farther then it should. Also, the sides of the cabinets aren't really cabinet sides and are super thin (not more than 1/4") on both sides of the dishwasher. AND on one side this thin barrier is between the two doors directly under the sink, which are no longer there, because my cabinets are trash, lol, so my point is I have far less noise dampening around my dishwasher then you... And I still can't hear it almost at all standing right next to it, lol.
I can't even tell it's on if not for the red light! This has been measured at 42dB buy reviewers... anything claiming to be quieter is irrelevant, unless you are sleeping right next to the dishwasher, lol.
Finally, the LAST thing I want is everything in my house connected to the Internet so the CCP can hack my home network, lol... I do NOT want things like this connected to the Internet! I was able to disable the wireless and in doing so I discovered it was already off by turning it on, so I had to look up how to turn it back off, which was just do a reset. I hate messing with new things, I'm in IT and it's exhausting, lol, but I always download the manual and have it handy, so I have a system, and this was no big deal.
But one reviewer pointed out there are features you cannot use without it being online... I'm not going to be using them anyway, but this kind of sucks... You should be able to control your machine without it going out to the Internet. This isn't a Bosch issue, it's ALL manufacturers.
Aside from the that I am very pleased with my purchase, and I can recommend this with zero hesitation.

A good Bosch dishwasher. However, it is not as good as the one we replaced it with. That, too, was a Bosch dishwasher but purchased in 2005. Unfortunately, this one is more cheaply made (or feels that way, anyway).
On the positive side, the space for dishes is better organized than our earlier one. There is also a third, top shelf for silverware. It took us a while to know how to use that shelf, but it is useful.
On the negative side, there is only one silverware basket than what we had before (2), and it is smaller. Further, the basket has three separated compartments, two small and one large (which is really the size of two small one). So, we ordered independently two separate silverware baskets that divided the space into four compartments. So, now we have 8 separate compartments for silverware whereas before we had double that amount (16). I can see the logic of Bosch in eliminating two large silverware baskets; it creates more space for dishes and allows less crowding of the silverware (since the top shelf gets the overflow). But, for us, that is less convenient than what we had.
Otherwise, we are happy with the dishwasher. It cleans dishes, as it should. It is quiet like all Bosch dishwashers. We don't use the drying liquid at all but only Seventh Generation Rinse Aid. Our philosophy is the fewerchemicals that are put on dishes, the better.

The pluses: the third rack is great, the adjustable second rack seems to stay in place better than my older Bosch. The negatives: there's only one flatware basket and it's small and designed so poorly IMO, the wine glass holders don't work and they don't easily flip down when you don't need them, things fall to the bottom of the dishwasher that always stayed put in my old dishwasher, and the start button doesn't let you know that you actually activated it. You have to close the door and look for the red light shining on the floor or listen for it to start. Expected better from the top of the line series. To be fair, I haven't read all of the instruction booklet yet and may learn something that helps with my negatives.

Very quiet. Installer was knowledgeable but had strong body odor. Replaced 10 year old Bosch that kept on erroring saying it was leaking but there was no leak. Bosch wanted to charge $400 to repair! Everyone told me just to replace it. Cleans well and the new crystal dry makes dishes drier than old model.

My dishwasher was just installed on March 4, today March 8. I have only washed on load of dishes in it so far and it cleaned well. I took a few weeks to get it installed so I don't have much more to say about it except it is extremely quiet which is one of the main features I was looking for with an open concept house. I would have purchased the Benchmark series, but it only came in stainless steel and not white. It is supposed to be even quieter. Given a little time to use it more, I might be willing to raise it another star.

It’s quiet and so much quicker than our previous dishwasher. Love the third shelf. It’s racks are designed differently so you have to take time to watch videos and just experiment.

Nice and quiet. Difficult to load. Racks are all slanted. We would have preferred them straight or movable. Third rack pretty much works for silverware only.
Cleans well, does decent job on plastic drying.
Guy that installed it said his wife took their Bosch out after 2 weeks for above reason.

I purchased Bosch 800 to replace the one I used for 10 years. This product is very quiet and clean the dishes perfectly even with full loading. Crystal dry works fantastic dry and clean. I am really satisfied and it proves why Bosch ranks as top tier of home appliances.

The dishwasher is working fine and the only problem is that the second rack doesn’t have enough space for wine glasses. As usual the dishwasher is quiet and efficient

Best cleaning dishwasher I have ever owned. The racks are arranged for effective loading and organization of the dishes and silverware. The black stainless steel finish is beautiful and worth the extra money. I like the red light shining on the floor when it is running. (No more opening of the door before the cycle is finished)

I love my new dishwasher. It cleans amazingly well and is so very quiet. The only way you know it’s running is the red light that shines beneath it. 5 Stars!!!

It's very quiet and in general it does its job very well. We're glad we purchased it. AND, we were able to get it in white. Virtually all appliances these days are stainless.

The dishwasher is OK. It has some drawbacks. The biggest drawback is the way most of the space on the inside is made for a specific size and shape of dish. The prongs on the bottom rack that are intended for plates are slanted to the side, meaning it can really only hold plates. When I put my large water goblets there, they simply tip over. With half the bottom rack dedicated to plates (with the plates slots spaced too closely together to use for much else) the remaining space is limited. There's a silverware basket there, which I've resorted to removing, to try to make space for more dishes. It's difficult to put in a large frying pan without crowding in on the plates.
The very top rack is for silverware and utensils. It is pushed absolutley up to the top of the interior, so that if you try to set a spatula, carving knife, etc., on its side for proper washing, it is knocked over when you try to pull the door open or closed. Forks and knives that do fit have to be painstakingly layed into the little slits--and again, the slits vary in size so that many things only fit in one particular slit--so good luck if you have more than a couple of a particular item. You could use the silverware basket on the lower rack, but of course then you won't have room for all of your dishes.
I was excited to have the little holder for stemware, (middle rack) until I found that it will only accomodate a very narrow "stem", like would be on a chamagne flute, etc. My water goblets, that we use for everything, did not fit there after all. The goblets also would not even fit standing up, until I lowered the middle rack as far as it would go. This will ultimately interfere with any "tall" things that I want to wash on the bottom. And again, with the middle rack, the majority of the prongs on the rack are slanted, meaning things have to face a certain way, and you have to brace tall items against other things so that they won't just flop over. Very frustrating. Places to stand things properly upright are very limited, and this rack has to be used on it's lowest setting, or it's simply too narrow for many things.
A very problematic thing is that there is no "full" indicator on the rinse-aid dispenser. As near as I can tell, you have to guess as to when it's time to add. And then when you do, the rinse aid simply runs out the cracks of--and out the bottom of-- the dispenser. Is it defective? I don't know. It's been like this since day-one. There is no section of the owner's manual addressing this.
And forget about the "crystal dry" setting. Are the dishes drier than they were with the old washer? Yeah, but there are still water droplets on many dishes and of course puddles inside of all the nooks and crannies where the water can't drain away. Nothing is dry as a bone.
The dishes come out clean enough, but you'll still have to rewash the frying pans and deep kettles as usual. Would I buy it again? Maybe. But first I would look for a dishwasher with straight up-and-down prongs on its racks, (spaced a little farther apart) so that I could put what I want, where I want, without my tall glasses falling over and without the interior space being so cut-up, specialized, and compartmentalized that it severely limits how you load it. In the end, despite having three racks instead of two, this dishwasher holds fewer dishes.

The installation was quick. The men were professional and gave me a quick lesson on new dishwasher.
Love the Bosch800. Just used it a few times. All is quickly washed and done well! The floor light is good. It is to show all is “being washed”. However it is missing a light that is for “completely washed” dishes. People who open a dishwasher of clean dishes won’t know if dishes are clean or needs washing unless they examine what is inside. An additional light would help.
