The door has to stand open for 30 - 60 minutes with steam coming out to get the dishes dry. However, the worst thing about this dishwasher is the tiny cutlery basket for holding forks, spoons, etc. Our very old Bosch dishwasher had a much superior larger basket. Whoever did the design on this, especially the small cutlery basket, should be fired. Bosch should send all purchasers a new larger basket for free.

Posted .Hi GaryC, we are sorry to hear that you are not getting the best drying results from this dishwasher model. Here are some tips that should help: 1. Use Finish® Jet Dry® rinse aid to help dishes dry faster. *This doesn't have to be added for each cycle, you fill the reservoir then the dishwasher will indicate when the reservoir is empty and needs to be refilled.* 2. For everyday use, we recommend Auto Cycle, which is best for mixed loads of dishes with varying amounts of food soil. 3. Select special drying options like "Sanitize and Extra Dry". Sanitize operates at a higher temperature to help eliminate bacteria and enhance drying results. 4. When unloading clean dishes, pull out lower racks first to avoid dripping water from the upper rack. If these tips do not help improve drying, please contact our Customer Support team at 1-800-944-2904 for additional assistance. Thank you.

I hate it! I don’t like the racks: the third rack seems unnecessary and interferes with the operation of the middle rack. I keep pouring rinse aid in it and it seems to go into a bottomless hole. The angle of the tines in the bottom rack seem backwards to me.

Defective product, bad service - not recommended
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had high hopes for this dishwasher as it is a Consumer Reports recommended model, but the unit is defective. It shows an E31 error message, which I am told is a malfunctioning heat pump. This is disappointing for a brand new machine. I will give Bosch credit for friendly telephone customer service reps, but not for much else. They use a service contractor in my area, and the contractor was unwilling to try to come when I am available, so I have to work with their schedule, which means a week before they can repair the unit (if it can be repaired), The first thing the contractor did was to inform me that if the problem was not a manufacturing defect I would be responsible for the cost of the service call, and the email from Bosch states I have a "credit" toward the repair, not that it will be covered in full, which leaves me wondering they will try to get out of paying. I would return the unit to Best Buy, but I paid my handyman to install the unit as part of a larger kitchen project and I would be out the cost of the installation. Based on this experience I recommend neither this dishwasher, nor Bosch.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Finally tried a boshe and it’s not all they say Bought this an open box and Best Buy claims to check that the open box isn’t damaged when returned. I installed it and never got one cycle out of it. Alarmed immediately at install. Had a broken mother board and cost 300$ and a broken flow sensor. The tubing wasn’t connected inside the unit. Best Buy is my standing behind there open box they are aweful. Least they could do is send me credit for the amount of trouble I’m going through with a unit
