Dish rack is terrible. It's very low to the floor and doesn't have a good set up for loading dishes. Dishes don't fit.

Quiet, great cleaning but terrible racks

Pros:
- Does a great job cleaning. Even the top rack dishes come out great.
- Very quiet
- Buttons on the front make it easy to keep track of wash
- The black/stainless combo matches my other appliances
Cons:
- Racks are terrible. I read this in other people's reviews but didn't understand how bad they were until I got home. The spokes are arranged oddly, spaced very close together in places and are all angled oddly. Seriously, while at the store grab a large pot and try to put it in the bottom rack. I eventually had to bend some of the spokes straight just to get my pots to fit in it.
- Lights have to be manually turned off. You'd think it would turn off the lights eventually when it's done. Nope. There is a separate button for that.
- Not the best at drying but we knew that before we bought it

A great upgrade from contractor-grade unit we had

This replaced a contractor-grade dishwasher, so my opinion may be slightly skewed. This washer cleans extremely well. Combined with a top-quality detergent pak, this even cleaned off hard, baked-on cheese from potatoes au gratin. My wife and I put it in with only minimal rinsing (to get the potato chunks out) and kind of laughed about our expectations. But an hour and a half later, sure enough, that sucker came out spotless. We were highly impressed. We never achieved that with our original washer.
This unit does NOT have heated drying. The "drying" cycle is a combination of a very hot rinse followed by condensation on the stainless steel tub. Of course, this means you MUST use a drying agent. But, even with what is regarded as the best drying agent you can buy in a common supermarket, plastics remain very wet. VERY wet. We shake them off, but it's a bother.
The baskets are very spacious, but the tine designs limit the flexibility somewhat. The top basket is deep but the tines are very small. Lightweight cups sometime get tossed around. You have to balance between small cups and large cups and glasses to hold them in place.
The silverware tray is giant and well-designed. It has built-in covers that can be used to prevent small items from flying around. (This would have come in handy for baby bottle parts when our kids were smaller!)
Overall, we are very pleased. We've only had it for about two months, so we don't have enough experience about reliability. But feature- and performance-wise, it is a great washer.

So far not very happy. Does not get dishes dry. Also found a loose nut in the bottom and don't know where it came from.

Did not meet our family's needs--size/racks

We bought this Bosch dishwasher based on the Consumer Reports reviews and many many good reviews on here and other sites. We knew that the issue with the dishes being wet was common with the Bosch dishwashers but we decided to try to see how it went. A friend said she didn't need to use jet dry in hers. We found that the jet dry was absolutely necessary and even with it, the dishes (including the plates and non-plastics) were wet. You need to be sure you are okay with drying your items every single time. We did not let the dishes sit overnight. I normally don't do this. The other issue we had was that the interior of the dishwasher was much smaller than the one we replaced. I had no idea this was the case--I honestly didn't compare the interiors in terms of size, but all the Bosch's are smaller. Also, the rack configuration did not work for us. I wash a lot of glass baking dishes and odd shaped items (9 x 13 pans and small glass ramekins) and there was just no easy way to put those in the Bosch. It was almost like they assumed you were washing nothing but plates. Also my travel coffee mug did not fit properly in the top. We use a lot of IKEA bowls and plates for our kids and those were hard to place in the racks also. So, all in all, although it did clean well, and it was extremely quiet, it just didn't meet our needs. The other issue I had was that unlike our old dishwasher, you can't just open the door and have it lay flat. It basically is more difficult to open the door and the door will not lay flat. The bottom rack felt cheap when you tried to roll it out, and it bothered me that the door would not lay flat when I was trying to load it. After about a week, we returned the Bosch and got a Kitchen Aid dishwasher which has been great and we have had no problems. It was $200 more but I feel like it was worth it for our family.
