This turned out not to be true, as the dishwasher included a connection cord which could connect to the dishwasher electrical outlet. This product is only required if one desires to hardwire the dishwasher, which is not a code requirement.

Plug for Bosch Dishwasher

Also, it takes up a lot of room in the sink cabinet. Bosch is one of the few manufacturers which have this type of cord for its dishwashers. I wish they would go back to a standard plug.
