Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After having a frustrating experience with a Bass Module purchased in 2017, I thought Bose would be far enough along to resolve the prior issues that frustrated me. My mistake. Both modules had issues with a fluttering noise that sounds like paper at lower frequencies. It sounds like a super cheap rattling speaker at low volumes. I tried putting it on carpet, moving it, checking other items in the room, before I just picked up the sub while it was playing and realized it was the subwoofer by itself - the noise comes from the speaker when when it’s not in contact with the ground. This is the second Acoustimass Bass module in my house and they both have a flutter at certain frequencies that makes these expensive subwoofers sound like cheap paper cone speakers that have been blown. Just absolutely disappointing and ruins the experience. It’s absolutely maddening and unacceptable. Maybe you’ll win the lottery and find a great sub without these issues. My 12 year old Sony HTIB subwoofer in the same room plays clear punchy bass with no issue. This brand new Bose Bass Module cannot. It’s just not worth the time. So disappointed in Bose on this specific issue. This module is what’s used in their Lifestyle Series - shouldn’t have fluttering noises in a $3500 system or a $1700 SoundBar system. And no, I don’t play these systems loud or do anything that would cause the speakers to be blown.

I am very sorry that you have experienced this same fluttering noise with both bass modules. Does this happen when you are playing all different sources?
You've been through some great steps to try and eliminate any possible external factors that could cause this. To rule out any interference, have you tried manually connecting the bass modules to your system? You can do this with a 3.5mm to 3.5mm aux cable. I'm only giving it 2 stars since it sounded really good when it worked. I had connection issues from the start and then had some scratching noises at times where there was a bad connection. Bose and bluetooth seem to always be an issue for some reason. This is not the only Bose product I've had with bad bluetooth connections.

Posted .Hello, if you are experiencing connection issues, I'd recommend repositioning the Bass module around the room to see if it improves, If you have a Wi-Fi router positioned near the soundbar or bass module, it can cause wireless interference that can cause connection issues or audio artefacts like scratching noises. Moving the router away from either the soundbar or bass module can help alleviate this.
You can also try connecting the bass module to the soundbar via a 3.5 mm audio cable for a more stable, hardwired connection.

The Sound Bar and Rears have been great. As for the sub, i cant say the same. I am on my 4th Subwoofer now and ive only had this wone about 2 months and will most likely be returning it due to popping sound. Whats worse is, BB charges me every time i have to reurn it. I just bought a 100" tv thats being delivered on Wednesday and i refuse to have my viewing experience ruined because of a popping sound coming from a $900+ Subwoofer. DON'T BUY IT, DON'T BUY IT
