Bose - Great Looking & Great Sounding Subwoofer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bose Bass Module 700 is designed to compliment the Bose 700 Soundbar. The module can also be used with the Bose Soundbar 500 and the Bose SoundTouch 300 soundbar. The bass on the 700 Soundbar is really quite good alone but if you want that extra punch you know Bose will deliver with a top notch subwoofer. The box is big but there’s a lot of packaging. I must say it was like peeling layers off an onion to get to the Soundbar but Bose has some ingenious packaging here to aid you. Unboxing reveals the Bass Module 700, a power cord, and a basic manual. That’s it. It is wireless after all. You can use a wired connection if so you chose using a standard 3.5 mm audio cable. The bass module isn’t exactly small. It measures 12.9”x11.6”x11.6” and weighs in at a whopping 36 pounds. Bass is of course non directional so that gives you flexibility for placement, however Bose does suggest placing it along the same wall as your TV and Soundbar. It should also be placed on the floor for best sound. At this size the Bass Module is a bit hard to hide so its a good thing that it’s one good looking piece of audio equipment. The tempered glass top really gives this thing a high quality look. The manual simply tells you to plug it in and then use the Bose Music app to complete setup. You simply tap on the Soundbar icon within the app, select settings, and select add accessory. The app searched and quickly discovered the bass module and connected it to the Soundbar. Wow! That’s it, it couldn’t be more simple. I immediately wanted to hear the difference so I started with music. The Bose Music app is particularly nice. I have it setup with my Amazon music account and the integration of Amazon music in the app is exceptional. You can easily browse stations and artists. I selected a few favorites from a few different music genres and I could quickly sense the difference with the Bass Module. As expected music now had a punch. When I cranked the volume this thing seriously thumps. Switching the source to a movie I quickly noted a far more atmospheric and cinematic sound quality particularly during action scenes. Love it. The Bass Module 700 is a fantastic addition to my Bose 700 Soundbar and very effectively makes a great product even better. Bass was deep and adds a new dimension to any source. Great looking and great sounding subwoofer from Bose. I would expect nothing less.

Pure Junk!
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Junk! Do not waste your money on this product, unless you like constant crackling noises. Bose claims you have to use a wire to connect the subwoofer to the soundbar to get rid of the noise. No clue why they waste time making it wireless when they tell you to use a wire. Bose has really gone downhill.

Buyer Beware
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great until it stops. There is a known issue that it stops working after a year and a half due to a resistor malfunction on the circuit board. Research before you buy this product. I regret spending $700 on the Bose 700 bass sub woofer.

Only for pure music buffs.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bose Subwoofer does not add much to the sound quality of a Bose 700 Sound bar. It does not add that much t movies with dialog and does some enhancement for action movies. Not worth adding at the current price.

So so performance, lots of issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The soundbar and bass unit "un-paired" from the remote and wouldn't control it. Followed the recommended way of resetting but that didn't work. The unit doesn't have any physical controls on the sound bar so I was unable to do a factory reset since I didn't have a working remote. I really wanted to like this and was very disappointed by the lack of controls, the sub-par app performance. Returned this and bought a more expensive unit from a different manufacturer.

Nice Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bose base is nice I think, but with no internet service I can't set it up. So it's just sitting there looking pretty. It seems as though with all the technology, Bose could have designed a wired set up option with a volume control knob. You have to go on an APP to adjust the volume! I'm sure once I get internet service I'll be able to get it set up. For now, it's just collection dust.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your Bose Bass Module 700. We're sorry to hear you experienced difficulty with the product, and we'd like to help.
We would first recommend performing a power reset of the bass module, by unplugging the power cord from the wall and waiting 90 seconds before reconnecting power.

Posted .Hi Bob,
Thanks for incorporating the Bass Module 700 into your home theater setup! Sorry to hear you've had some issues setting it up. The module uses a wireless connection, but doesn't actually use your internet to communicate with the soundbar so your internet speed has no impact on performance. What could be happening, however, is that there could be interference caused by frequencies from your router that could be causing dropouts.
Try moving the bass module or router to a different place in the room to see if that helps. Still having problems? Try making a wired connection to the bar rather than a wireless one.
If you need any help, don't hesitate to get in touch! https://www.bose.com/en_us/contact_us.html

Posted .Hello Matthew, I am so happy to hear you love your Soundbar 700! I am sorry that you feel your bass module did not enhance the audio experience for you. Designed exclusively for the Bose Smart Soundbar 700, it’s the best wireless bass module we’ve ever designed for any of our home cinema systems. In fact, it’s the best performance you can get from a subwoofer of this size. It connects wirelessly to your soundbar and adds even more depth and impact to everything from explosive movie effects to house-rocking playlists. Did you rerun our exclusive ADAPTiQ when adding the bass module? This will re-calibrate your system for the best experience possible.

Clean design, great bass output, quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bose Bass Module 700 is quite a piece of hardware. The Bose name speaks for itself with regards to audio quality, but this sub has a very clean and modern aluminum design with a tempered glass top and sleek overall look. You can see and feel the craftsmanship. It has some nice weight to it (36lbs) and it feels solid and well-built. However, it has a rather small footprint which I really like as that, as well as the wireless pairing capabilities (wired can be done as well), make for a very easy and clean placement. I am using the sub with the corresponding Bose Soundbar 700 so setup/pairing was quite easy, done through a Bose app that also allows for control and customization of the sub itself. While I do like the app, I do wish there was a little more flexibility with some physical controls as well. Further, I would have liked to see some more input/output options. As for the sound, the reason you are here, well, simply, I am very impressed. My main use case for this sub was movies and quite honestly, having never had a sub of this quality before, I am stunned. The bass is deep and immersive, but also loud and clear, if that makes any sense. It brought added life to some of my favorite movies and truly enhanced the experience. I could feel the movies. This was not something I was expecting. At least not on this level. I did also throw some bass heavy music at it, and again, I came away happy. It was not as eye-opening of an experience for me as the movies were, but I loved it nonetheless. Long story short, great bass output. In the end, I am very pleased with this Bose sub. It looks fantastic, is a nice size, allows for placement options, puts out great bass, and is a perfect complement to the Soundbar 700. With premium products, use case and value are always a consideration, so look at your wants/needs, but this sub delivers, and it is worth it to me.
