Awesome Deep Bass
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After years of wanting a Bose home theater system, I purchased this 700 in November 2018 with the soundbar. Once open, I found you need the Bose app to setup the speakers, and you will need an update right out of the box. On initial app install, I was able to set the speakers to play sound. Ran a few sound tests with regular TV, movies, and video games. At first the sound wasn't as i expected. So I tried to go back to the Bose app for adjustments, but it was unable to find my speaker within the app. I had to unplug the soundbar and plug it back in several times in order for it to be discoverable. It was frustrating having to do this, but patience pays off. Ok, so I finally adjusted everything to my liking and WOW, the sound is awesome. The bass is deep and it shakes my walls. I used the ADAPTIQ, which took a little longer than expected because it picks up every little sound and that interrupts the process. A little tip for the ADAPTIQ, place the subwoofer in front of the TV so nothing is in front of it. Once you are running through the process, it will ask you to sit in the spots where people will be sitting. Instead of sitting/standing in the spot, i/e the couch or chair you will sit on, stand past it. This will make the sound louder since it has to travel farther. Once you are done, place the sub woofer where you want it. One more thing, I was one of those customers that passed on the surround speakers, but I bought those in December 2018, and they are a must have to complete the system. It sounds great.

Must Have If You Own the Bose Soundbar
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This bass module is really only useful if you have the Bose soundbar to match it. I have the 700 series and used the Bose Music app to pair the subwoofer to the soundbar. For this size of subwoofer you should be able to hear some serious thumping bass when watching action movies or listening to music through Alexa. It definitely delivers in that department, but only if you’re listening to a high quality source. However, listening to your source material at the best quality can be difficult due to the soundbar itself. For example, if the source has to go through your TV (through HDMI ARC or optical) then you may end up with the TV jacking with the sound. This was my experience when using it with an Apple TV and Dolby Atmos content. The newest Apple TV does not have optical output, only HDMI. Without an input port on the soundbar you have to connect the ATV to the TV's HDMI input. I believe this was the cause for some of the dialog of movies being output through the sub which made for a very muddy bass track. It's like the subs crossover was set way too high and I couldn’t find anyway to adjust the crossover in the app. My only option was to watch the film through a different source. The app allows you to adjust the bass level from 0 to 100. I found that turning it past 50 resulted in heavy distortion. Even at Level 10 I could detect some distortion so I would recommend leaving the bass level at the default of 0. Pros: Compact Looks good; sleek glass top Puts out plenty of bass Cons: Must purchase separately Potential limited by soundbar issues No crossover controls Can only control bass level through app Bass is distorted when increasing level Overall, I'd only recommend if you own and are content with the Bose Soundbar 700. Even with the cons listed above as the soundbar without the subwoofer just doesn’t sound as good.

Posted .Hi Wilkin,
Sorry to hear that you have been experiencing some connectivity issues with your Bass Module 700.
We'd love to look into these connectivity concerns with you and perform some troubleshooting. Did you know you can do a cabled connection as well as a wireless connection? A simple 3.5mm - 3.5mm cable will resolve this for you. However if a wireless connection is important to you, reach out to your local Bose product support team, an agent here will get this sorted for you.

Posted .Hello,
I'm sorry to hear you've had issues with your bass module. This certainly shouldn't be happening. If a problem occurs wireless this can usually be attributed by a source of nearby interference but the fact you mention you've had problems while wired may indicate a problem with the setup, not necessarily the bass module. Please reach out to the Bose service team if you need any help, we'll be more than happy to rectify this for you. https://bose.life/3ET4mCs.

Posted .Hello Chuck,
Thanks for reviewing this Bass module 700. We're sorry to hear that you've not received the full Bose experience from this product, and would be happy to try and help!
We would recommend that you try and run the AdaptIQ audio calibration with the bass module connected, to maximise the audio quality from both the system and the bass module.
Alternatively, you could go to the Bose music app, and using the "Adjustments" menu change the level of bass manually.
We hope this helps, and have a great day!

Earth shaking Sub!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bose 700 Subwoofer is a very nice looking addition to your TV area. Bose dressed it in all black and a glass top and with only 1 wire coming out of the back for power (Bluetooth connects) can be placed anywhere you like in your TV room. The mating of this to the 700 Sound bar I also have was almost instantaneous. All done and controlled through the Bose app. The app will let you adjust base settings to your liking. As far as sound…. WOW what else can I say? Its Bose the name alone is quality. While movie viewing when the base hits it doesn’t just hit it POUNDS. I felt like I was in a theater when it was rumbling. It physically shook my living room. I felt the floor shaking and vibrating from 15 feet away. This is the most Bass of any Sub woofer or surround system I have owned. Bose uses an Adaptiq Audio Calibration system to setup the sound quality for your space. You put on a head gear piece and plug the end into the speaker and from the app run the setup and it will have you move around to 6 different viewing/listening spaces. It then runs through a series of sounds and adjusts accordingly to the bounce back of the tone, so you can get the best experience possible. I am extremely pleased at this addition and would recommend this to any Audiofile!!

Must Need Accessory
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am using this Bass Module with the Bose 700 sound bar and together they provide me with the best sound experience I have ever had at home. The sound of the sound bar is great but when the Bass Module is paired to it you can literally "feel" the bass. It makes watching TV shows and movies that much more enjoyable. The setup was super easy. You plug it in and then use the Boss Music app to find your device and wirelessly connect it to the Boss 700 sound bar. Using the Boss Music app you can turn the bass module on or off and you can also play with the bass and treble levels. The build quality is fantastic. It not only looks sleek but is a nice size that would go great with any entertainment center. Overall this is a great product and I would definitely recommend this with the Boss 700 sound bar. I always use to have just a sound bar which was great but when I started using this bass module with it the experience my family and I would have went through the roof. A must have if you watch a lot of TV/movies.

Massive Bass..!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the first time in my audio listening years I can hear and at the same time feel my audio. This is absolutely the best quality reproduction of TV audio in a 5.1 configuration I've ever heard. I replaced an older Samsung that was causing intermittent problems with the New Bose Soundbar 700, the Bass Module 700 and the Surround Speakers. There is no comparison to other systems I've owned in the past with this Bose system! One word of caution, when ordering these base modules the 500 and 700 modules are the same price and they are identical in appearance, but they are NOT compatible with the sound bars from another Bose system. The sound bar 300 has to use the Bass Module 300 and the 700 system has to use the Base Module 700, as the platform that is used on the 500 & 700 series is not compatible and entirely different than the 300 system. Now I am not as techno savvy as some, and also i have a Total Tech Package with Best Buy, so I utilized the Geek Squad subcontractor TX1Communications for the installation, and I'm very glad I did! these guys had the system up and running in no time! One issue came up during the installation. When it came time to pair the remote to the TV and Uverse receiver, the remote would not recognize them. The technicians immediately put in a call to Bose only to learn of a 6 hours wait for assistance. I in turn while they were working to get assistance went to the Bose website, to the Sound bar 700 support/technical support/Remote/Remote set up is not working to find this: "Your Bose Soundbar system will have the ability to control all of your devices from one remote, the Bose Soundbar Universal Remote. This functionality is not active yet, but will be activated during a future Soundbar firmware and Bose Music app update. We anticipate this update being available early to mid-October. Product firmware updates happen automatically in the background, and they typically install overnight. Please note, the remote will still control the soundbar itself, so you can adjust volume, switch sources, and stream music via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi." So what the techs were trying to do is not optional at the moment and won't be until Bose pushes out the update to the remote in order that it might accommodate other IR components. So I will patiently wait. Also not the Bose remote communicate with the sound bar through Bluetooth, not IR line of sight. If you have component that utilizes IR to communicate the sound bar converts the Bluetooth signal from the remote to IR and broadcasts it to the TV, DVR, etc. All in all I couldn't be more pleased with the sound reproduction from this system, it is literally worth every penny spent! I would recommend this system to a friend. And my service throughout the Geek Squad I recommend just as highly..!!! Thanks Bose, Best Buy, Geek Squad and my installing technicians!!! Will report later on future performance.

Floor Shaking Bass
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Bass Module is a great addition to the Soundbar. The bass from the soundbar is great but this module takes it to the next level. The bass from this subwoofer is floor shaking but its bass that isn’t too hard to hear its clear bass. It was really easy to connect the module to the soundbar through the app. Its walks you through just on how to do it. You can adjust the bass from the app and you can just listen though the soundbar if you want. I like that you can adjust the bass because some movies have the bass turned up when they make it so it’s great that you can do that it’s a great addition. The module is a good weight and the size of it is a good size. There is glass on the top of it and then there is black plastic around the rest of it. I would highly recommend getting this in addition to the soundbar.

Bose Rocks my world
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bose is absolutely the best that money can buy. If you're not a Bose believer take this subwoofer for a test drive. Excellent design and awesome sound quality. You will hear crisper highs, lower lows and some mind blowing mid-ranges that you never knew your music contained. A true theater experience is now possible in your own home. There is no comparison to other systems I own and the Bose Bass Module 700 is simply awesome. I compared the sound against 3 other subwoofers which are comparable in cost. This Bose subwoofer wins every time. PROS * Quality build * Amazing Sound Reproduction * Alexa is definitely a bonus * Easy Set up CONS * You can only adjust the subwoofer settings through the use of the Bose Application. So if more bass or treble are needed, you have to utilize your phone to fine tune adjust. Bose is on my recommended list. Bose will unlock subtleties in your music that you never thought possible. Get ready to rock your world. Bose is AWESOME. Bose is a winner.

Fix for the popping noise
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like many reviews and folks all over the web there has been frustration with popping noises and baffling because of wireless interference. I spent hours in research and on the phone with Bose to no avail. Bose only recommends moving the sub away from other wireless devices. It didn’t help. Finally my fix was to reduce interference on my wifi router by changing the frequency on the 5GHz band that my soundbar was connected to. By default this band was set to 80 MHz because this promises greater throughput. I switched it to 40 MHz following a writeup by Intel to reduce interference. Sure enough the popping is gone. Clean bass sounds and I’m finally in love with the sounds of movies. Hope this helps others.

Best subwoofer out there
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Boss Bass Module 700 I received was paired with my Bose Soundbar 700 for review. Unboxing: This is A LOT of packaging. Not only that but this box is heavy!!! With the amount of heft in the box I assumed it must be a high quality device (it is). The packaging had layers and layers, this is great for protection but you will have a lot of trash after. One thing I appreciated was the handles in certain layers of packaging making it very easy to remove from the box. Setup: Plug it in, use the Bose Music app to connect it to the soundbar, calibrate it with the strange headset (included with the soundbar) and you are good to go! Setup couldn’t be easier. The build qualify of this device is amazing. It is all high quality plastics and glass and feels built like a tank. Sound quality: I was not sure it was working initially and only saw a white light on the back I had to put my head close to it to see if it was working. What I figured out is that the soundbar puts out a decent amount of bass already so it seems to save the bass module for much lower frequencies. I put on some bass heavy music and action movies and this thing will shake the room! It is not at all distorted but is a very clean and loud bass. The high quality build seems to allow for amazing bass reproducing while not overwhelming the sound from the soundbar. Cons: I could find nothing I did not like about this bass module or the setup with the soundbar other than the silly calibration method. This this is near perfect! Summary: If you can purchase this with the Soundbar 700, expect to have an amazing sound setup in your room. It puts every soundbar/subwoofer combo I have ever used to shame instantly. Try to get a chance to listen to one of these in person and nothing else will compare.
