Terrible popping and cracking noises
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good subwoofer with serious WIFI issues. I had terrible issues with popping and cracking noise when set up to connect wirelessly. It was so bad, could not listen. I tried all the fixes on Bose’s website and others online to no avail. I finally had to connect the subwoofer to the sound bar with a cord. For this price range, that is not acceptable. It is a shame because I really like the Bose 900 sound bar, but adding the subwoofer almost caused me to bring it back. If you can’t or don’t want to connect the sound bar with a cable think twice.

Bass 700
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bass 700 could be louder also, it perfect for the average person who don't enjoy loud music. It's awesome otherwise. Adding the extra surround sound speakers would add a movie experience. I would recommend.

Don't recommend at all.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This sub got to many issues for the price it's set at. This sub is the price of some full blown 5.1 soundbar systems. The technical restraints and price it's set at is crazy. You will need to hardwire the sub if you run into any issues with rumbling. Unacceptable for the price. Makes it hard for sub placements.

Posted .Hi.
Thank you for your post. Sorry to hear about the connection issue with your bass module. The bass module is wireless. However, if you have too much interference in the area where it is located, it will be best to connect it with an aux cable to the back of the soundbar to address the issue. If you require assistance in the future, please reach out to us here. https://bose.life/3BgUIIU. We would love to help.

Posted .Hi DFWTURO, I'm glad to hear that you think that the sound is amazing! I'm sorry to hear that you seem to be experiencing some interference from your router. I would recommend moving the woofer closer to your soundbar or connecting with a cable to lower the amount of cut out you experience. Thank you for your review! Kindest, Kerri - Bose Customer Support

Money down the drain
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have money to blow, go ahead and purchase this. Within a year of purchase, there was crackling in the bass module. I called Bose and unfortunately my product had just finished the warranty year. So I paid $160 to have it serviced, but they said they couldn’t service it. They could only offer me 30% off another system. I asked the guy, why would I buy another system from you guys just to face the same problem. He didn’t have an answer. So, he said we’ll just send you back this broken speaker. I wish I had bought another Sonos system. So disappointing with Bose

Posted .Hi Gibson! I'm very sorry to hear your Bass Module 700 stopped working after a year, due to a crackling noise. If troubleshooting doesn't help and your bass module can't be repaired either, an upgrade option is usually offered. In some cases, it may be possible to put the $160 towards this, so please give our support team another try and we'll see what Bose might be able to offer you here: https://support.bose.com/s/get-help-landing-page?language=en_US. Horrible Customer Service Experience - McClean, VA
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a horrible customer service experience at your Tyson’s Corner store in Vienna, VA and would like to share my experience with your team to ensure what happened to me doesn’t happen to other customers. I have been unable to contact the store’s GM and after multiple attempts, and the (612) “Corporate” phone number sends me out for the country. I reported the incident via the above phone number, but was told that my complaint would not be shared with the corporate office or the store, which defeats the purpose. This is my 4th attempt to contact Best Buy’s management team. How can I contact the corporate office? The incident took place on Sunday, April 7, 2024 and involved employees, Mike and Jenny. Thank you.

Sound was solid.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Product sounded solid but for some reason after updating bass module, bass module 700 sounded weak. It doesn’t sound the same as it used to. I should of gotten Sonos better reviews, better ratings and it seems better sound.

Amazing sound, recurring problem
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this (with the sound bar and surround sound speakers) a month ago. About 25 days into having it, I noticed a popping sound, but not one resemblant of blown speakers. It was unlike any sound I’ve heard. It is a popping sound, somewhat like the sound of popcorn. I was very frustrated, and it only happens during playing of certain extremely low bass sounds. I was able to return it to Best Buy for a replacement, thinking it was a defective speaker. The SAME EXACT DAY (today, 07 August) that my replacement arrived, I plugged it in, watched the same show that created the popping sound during low frequency music (the show shark tank, specifically-which if you’re familiar it has very low pitched music at times), and low and behold the Popping sound immediately was replicated. It is definitely coming from the bass speaker, as I would lay next to it and hear it. I don’t quite understand how this is possible. I am beyond furious because this whole system is too expensive to have this sound recur and I expect better from Bose. I have looked back and read other reviews of this similar issue. Bose-your company has a problem with this item that has NOT been addressed for months, looking at how far back some of these similar reviews originate. I want so badly to shout the awesomeness of all these speakers, because when it works normal, it is simply SPECTACULAR. But the recurring popping sound is absolutely horrendous.

Posted .Hello!
It's great to hear you have been enjoying the spectacular sound of your new home theatre set up! I'd love to help you with this popping so you can get back to enjoying it at it's best.
It sounds like your system is encountering wireless interference between the bass module and the soundbar. This interference can cause the bass module to make a popping sound. I find the most common causes of this are other wireless devices near or between the soundbar and bass module. In my experience, routers tend to be the most usual cause, but any wireless device could potentially interfere. Try unplugging any wireless devices nearby and the popping will stop. You can then plug the devices back in one at a time to see which is causing the issue.
You can also remove this by connecting the bass module to the soundbar using a 3.5mm jack cable, but I appreciate this isn't always possible in all setups.
If you would like a hand with any of this, reach out to us directly and we can help you with this! https://bose.life/2P7Tuqt

looked good but did not last
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks amazing and modern but ours did not last. Bass was good at lower volumes but when we turned it up the bass became distorted and the sub started to smell like burning electronics. We returned this and the sound bar.

Nice clean deep bass
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely the one to get if youre deciding between this or the lower end model. I highly recommend getting 3.5 to 3.5 cord to hook up with the Soundbar especially if you live in an area with lots of wifi interference eitherwise youll hear some crackling in the module.

The name Bose, no longer means high end quality
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. How did I miss all these reviews about the Subwoofer popping? $700 and all I can say good about this is it looks good. My Sub is 15’ from the sound-bar and pops nonstop. I never would have thought Bose would produce such crap. I have an inexpensive sound-bar outside on my patio and it’s wireless sub works flawlessly. Beyond “unhappy” with Bose!

Not actually wireless if you like clean audio
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its a decent sub but its not wireless. Yes it has wireless features but it cannot handle 2.4ghz interference in any way...guess what the modern home is saturated in. So if you try to use it wirelessly it just breaks up constantly. Once you cord it to the soundbar it works great.

Not as advertised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not exactly as advertised as Bose had to send me a wired cable to connect to the 900 soundbar as the base kept humming and making other popping noises. It seems to be a known issue with Bose, but not a great fix , when you are wanting wireless....Great sound...with a caveat of not really being "wireless".....

Posted .Hey there,
I'm glad that you love the great sound of the Bass Module. The Bass Module producing unexpected noises could indicate wireless interference beyond our control. We have a couple of suggestions here https://bose.life/3Gfd5AQ to try. Using it wired is will help to eliminate the potential wireless interference, but is not required if you don't have interference.

Extremely Disappointed!
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would not buy again. I am a Bose customer for over 30 years. Years ago I started with the acoustimass 5 speakers, and the 901 Black Lacquer speaker, and continued with Bose purchases ever since. That being said, my purchase of the Soundbar 900 with Bass Module 700 is a giant disappointment. The soundbar goes offline a couple times each day. I have to unplug it from the wall socket to reset it. not an easy task since my outlet is recessed behind my wall mounted tv. The bigger disappointment is the bass module. The module makes a popping sound as if the speaker is busted. The thing that attracted me most to this combo was for the wireless bass module connection aesthetics. The bass module is not near my wireless router, as was a recommended fix from Bose. The other fix was to connect the module to the soundbar wired, which defeats my purpose of the purchase. Best Buy service techs explained to me that there have been several complaints concerning this very issue. Highly disappointed. I would not recommend. Find a more reliable unit.
