When using this , whether the box is facing up , left , right , or centered , I could never get a good sense of immersion from the sound since I’m personally hearing the sound only from one side of the place ( technically I can hear from both sides of the living room but you can tell by a huge difference)

I have had a bose sound bar system for several years. I decided to upgrade my lifestyle 135 soundbar system to the new soundbar 700 paired with the bass module 700. After one week I’m very happy with the upgrade. Unboxing: When the boxes arrived, I was surprised by the size of the packaging. Thankfully the soundbar itself is only a little bit longer than the previous model I owned, and it’s noticeably thinner. The bass module is a decent size bigger than the subwoofer I had, so I did have to make some minor changes to my furniture set up to fit it in. The only other thing to note from an unboxing perspective is the lack of including a wall mount in the box with the soundbar (not unexpected). I had to place a separate order to get the wall mount, which I don’t have yet as of this review. Appearance: The glass top on the soundbar and bass module is beautiful! It’s a significant aesthetic design improvement from my previous Bose model, or any sound system I’ve owned from Samsung or Sony. While this isn’t the most important factor in a sound system, it’s nice to have a system that looks great and sounds great. Set up: I’ve seen some negative reviews on this topic, but my own set up could not have gone much smoother. After unboxing and figuring out placement, I connected the soundbar into the HDMI ARC connection, downloaded the bose music app, and got going. The app literally walks you thru step by step, connecting to the soundbar and bass module as needed. It also walks you thru the adaptiq setup; it’s always fun to make the wife move out of your favorite spot on the couch so that the software can configure to your particular room layout. Since I don’t have the wall mount yet, I will have to redo the adaptiq setup one more time, but that’s not an issue, just a minor inconvenience. WiFi set up and connecting Alexa was also simple, only requiring your amazon password to complete the setup. This is my first Alexa device, so it will take some time to remember the correct commands to get her to complete things. I’ve gotten her to tell me simple things like the weather outside and the score of college football games. The remote was only part of the set up that was not seamless. I’ve seen many notes about future software updates for the remote, which I look forward to, but for the time being I need to have a couple remotes handy to completely control TV, cable box, & xbox. I was up and running with everything in about 30 minutes. Performance: I’m blown away by this soundbar! If for nothing else, this soundbar seems to have nailed the perfect balance between dialogue on TV shows or movies and the rest of soundtrack. It was almost worth the entire price of this system to watch something and not have my wife ask me, “what did they just say?” or have to blast the sound to hear characters speak. I haven’t watched that much content that gives the bass module the opportunity to really show what it can do, but some content that I did watch... the storm scenes in The Haunting of Hill House are insane. You can feel the thunder pounding on you and the sounds of the rain coming from the soundbar really make you feel like you are in that house with them. I look forward to having time to sit back and enjoying a lot more. I’ve listened to some music via amazon music, using Alexa to play songs. It works as you’d expect and the music sounds great, filling my entire (small) house. I wish there was direct support for apple music, but I can always connect via Bluetooth to play music from my ipad or iphone. While I haven’t had the chance to yet, I am planning on adding the wireless surround sound speakers to the set up as well. The system makes me what to have the full set up, to experience everything the soundbar 700 system can offer. Overall: This system, the soundbar 700 and the bass module 700, is expensive and it is worth it if you enjoy hearing and feeling sound. There’s little effort to get this up and plenty of awesome sound afterwards. Highly recommended together.

Do not buy!!!!! Sub makes a horrible popping noise. Sent it bose and they sent it back. Still does the same thing. If you are trying to use this wireless foeget it. Go with sonos. I have been a bose fan all my life buti am very dissappointed with this sub. The solution to the popping noise is to run an audio cable to it. The whole reason i bought it was because it was wireless.

Hello Jeff, if the Bass module is still popping after a repair, this suggests that the issue is environmental. If the Bass module or soundbar sits near a device like a Wi-Fi router, this can cause wireless interference and then the bass module can product a popping noise. You can prevent this from happening by hardwiring the Bass module directly to the soundbar, or repositioning the Bass module away from the Wi-Fi router or vice versa. Should you need any further assistance, feel free to contact our technical support team, who will be more than happy to help: bose.life/3rykPZR. Liam - Bose Customer support. bose

Hey! The Bass Module 700 will show an amber LED when it becomes ready to pair. Then, follow the instructions in the Bose Music app to connect an 'accessory speaker'. I'm sure you'll have no issues - but please reach out to Bose directly if you have any issues. Sam - Bose Customer Support bose

Junk! Do not waste your money on this product, unless you like constant crackling noises. Bose claims you have to use a wire to connect the subwoofer to the soundbar to get rid of the noise. No clue why they waste time making it wireless when they tell you to use a wire. Bose has really gone downhill.

The Bose Bass Module 700 is designed to compliment the Bose 700 Soundbar. The module can also be used with the Bose Soundbar 500 and the Bose SoundTouch 300 soundbar. The bass on the 700 Soundbar is really quite good alone but if you want that extra punch you know Bose will deliver with a top notch subwoofer. The box is big but there’s a lot of packaging. I must say it was like peeling layers off an onion to get to the Soundbar but Bose has some ingenious packaging here to aid you. Unboxing reveals the Bass Module 700, a power cord, and a basic manual. That’s it. It is wireless after all. You can use a wired connection if so you chose using a standard 3.5 mm audio cable. The bass module isn’t exactly small. It measures 12.9”x11.6”x11.6” and weighs in at a whopping 36 pounds. Bass is of course non directional so that gives you flexibility for placement, however Bose does suggest placing it along the same wall as your TV and Soundbar. It should also be placed on the floor for best sound. At this size the Bass Module is a bit hard to hide so its a good thing that it’s one good looking piece of audio equipment. The tempered glass top really gives this thing a high quality look. The manual simply tells you to plug it in and then use the Bose Music app to complete setup. You simply tap on the Soundbar icon within the app, select settings, and select add accessory. The app searched and quickly discovered the bass module and connected it to the Soundbar. Wow! That’s it, it couldn’t be more simple. I immediately wanted to hear the difference so I started with music. The Bose Music app is particularly nice. I have it setup with my Amazon music account and the integration of Amazon music in the app is exceptional. You can easily browse stations and artists. I selected a few favorites from a few different music genres and I could quickly sense the difference with the Bass Module. As expected music now had a punch. When I cranked the volume this thing seriously thumps. Switching the source to a movie I quickly noted a far more atmospheric and cinematic sound quality particularly during action scenes. Love it. The Bass Module 700 is a fantastic addition to my Bose 700 Soundbar and very effectively makes a great product even better. Bass was deep and adds a new dimension to any source. Great looking and great sounding subwoofer from Bose. I would expect nothing less.

Works great until it stops. There is a known issue that it stops working after a year and a half due to a resistor malfunction on the circuit board. Research before you buy this product. I regret spending $700 on the Bose 700 bass sub woofer.

The Bose Subwoofer does not add much to the sound quality of a Bose 700 Sound bar. It does not add that much t movies with dialog and does some enhancement for action movies. Not worth adding at the current price.
